Chapter 625 Artemis Is Not A Jerk
Artemis would not have allowed Yvette in his room if it were not for dispelling her suspicion, but her presence made
him regret faking his memory loss.
He had only put up an act to find out the mastermind because he wanted to protect his family, and this forced him
to sacrifice himself.
Honestly, Artemis would have killed Yvette if Holden had barged in a minute later.
“Um, I'm sorry, Leader. Am I interrupting?”
Frowning, Artemis rolled over and got up from the bed. “Yes, you are. Learn to knock next time. You know what you
should do for this offense.”
“I-I do.”
“What brings you here? Scram if you don't have anything important to say.”
Holden rubbed his nose, thinking to himself that he would have run away in a situation like that if he had a choice,
but he knew that Artemis would skin him alive if he were to leave him alone with Yvette.
“I have an urgent update on the organization's top secret. You might want to hear me out privately,” Holden
informed.
Artemis glanced at Yvette quietly with a fleeting and subtle glint of murderous intent in his eyes.
Reading the cue, Yvette gritted her teeth in annoyance and got out of bed reluctantly.
D*mn you, Holden. What timing! I could've slept with him if it were not for you, but it's okay. At least I got to clear
my doubts. Artemis must have really lost his memory, or he wouldn't have touched me. Things could have gotten
more steamy, but this is already good enough.
Yvette darted her gaze at the trench coat she had hung on the rack, thinking about the miniature camera she had
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtplanted discreetly on one of her coat's buttons. She had captured the intimate moment she had with Artemis.
This will be the perfect gift for you, Bailey. I wonder how you will react when you see the man you love in bed with
someone else. I can't wait to see you crushed, wretched, and devastated. I want you to suffer so much you feel like
dying. That is when I will do you the favor of ending your life.
“I need to talk to Holden privately.”
Artemis' voice summoned Yvette back to her senses, and she gazed at him, smiling charmingly.
“Sure. I should get going then. Let me know if you need anything. We can always...”
She stopped in embarrassment as her cheeks flushed red. Then, she retrieved her coat from the rack and left.
Behind her, Holden slammed the door once she was out of sight.
Back in the room, Artemis glanced at Holden and yanked the bedsheet off before throwing everything to him.
“Get rid of it. Clean this room too. I can't stand the smell.”
He then took a new set of pajamas from the dressing room and entered the bathroom again.
Holden could not help but laugh.
Is that even necessary? It's not like Yvette took a dump on you.
When Artemis came out of the bathroom again after ten minutes, Holden had already put on a new bedsheet and
deodorized the room, which put Artemis in a better mood.
“The mastermind must have asked Yvette to test if I've really forgotten everything. Now that I've gained her trust,
she will contact that person. I want her followed closely around the clock to find out who it is.”
“Noted.”
Having dealt with that issue, Artemis walked to the wine cabinet for a drink.
“By the way,” Holden informed, “Justin said that staff from the medical base told him that Felicity is awake.”
Artemis' fingers around the wine glass froze as the frown on his brows gradually relaxed.
I hope Mother's recovery will take Bailey out of herself. She can finally rest easy without feeling guilty.
“Good to know. Any updates on Micah and the other's whereabouts?”
“They are imprisoned in one of Tarragon's secret bases. The place is heavily guarded, so stationing our people
there for the mission will take some time. We can't afford to let Dominic catch us, or our past efforts will all go down
the drain.”
“Good. I'll leave the planning to you.”
“Sure.”
Meanwhile, in the study at the medical base, Zeke narrowed his eyes as he watched the woman on the couch,
questioning, “What's wrong with Artemis, huh? Why has he not contacted you? He's been back for days. Don't tell
me he's given up on you.”
Bailey rolled her eyes at him. “He would never turn his back on me—even if the whole world does.”
“That sounds like a fantasy to me,” Raiden scoffed, resting against the chair's backrest. “You think too highly of him.
You'll be hurt big time if he betrays you one day.”
Bailey glared at the man and criticized, “I know you are angry and dislike him, but can't you just wish for the best
for me? Don't direct all your dissatisfaction toward me. Go fight him fair and square.”
Raiden grunted and ignored her.
Beep!
Bailey's phone suddenly rang.
Since Zeke was closer to her, he took her phone.
Within just a mere three seconds, his face turned grim.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmRaiden, still leaning against the chair, turned and glanced at Bailey's phone as well. When he had finally understood
what he saw, his back straightened slowly as fury flared in his eyes.
It's Artemis. I swear it's him in the video. He's in bed with a woman, taking off her lingerie. How dare they do this?
Raiden looked at Bailey subconsciously, only to see the woman squinting and addressing Zeke. “What's wrong with
people these days? They keep sending all sorts of spam messages. Delete it, Zeke.”
Zeke came back to his senses before he clumsily tried to tap the screen.
Bailey's expression changed as she thought about the video she had received.
My phone's security is airtight. There's no way someone can send me anything from the outside unless there is a
pro hacker behind this. This can only mean...
“Give it to me,” she added.
Instead of giving her the phone, Zeke smiled as he tried to find the original file of the video. “There's no need to
look at this. People sometimes do dumb things just because they're bored. Just focus on coming up with a plan with
Mr. Fletcher.”
Bailey sneered. “Are you trying to delete the original copy? There's no point. I'm Spook, the best hacker in the
world. I can recover just about any data.”
Zeke stopped, thinking what she said made sense, but in that split second, Bailey snatched the phone from him.
She was dumbstruck the moment she saw the video.
Who is this man? Artemis? Who's the woman underneath him? I don't think I know her. No. Maybe I do know her. I
just don't want to know who she is by looking at her face.
Bailey's mind went blank as her initially wavering gaze slowly focused on Artemis' attractive face.
A pang of tightness pierced through her chest, her hands quaking subtly until the phone dropped to the cold hard
ground.
Zeke paled at the sight but quickly shot over to Bailey and pulled her into his arms.
“Calm down, Bay. Artemis is not a jerk who would do something like this. This must be a misunderstanding.”
