Chapter 852 I Cannot Leave As Bailey Is Here
In the car, Artemis received a text message from Zeke: The man who Tucker sent to Pandera to capture 'Archie'
has already arrived. I believe it would be better to let 'Archie' fall into Tucker's hands. That way, he'll completely
burn his bridges with Sofie.
After reading the message, he handed the phone to Bailey. “Zeke wants us to watch in safety while others fight.
What do you think?”
Bailey's eyes flickered with a hint of regret. “That young man is truly talented. If we could recruit him, he'd be a
valuable asset to us. But if Tucker gets hold of him, there won't be anything left of him. It's a real shame for
someone like him to meet such a downfall.”
After a moment of contemplation, Artemis proposed, “If you're hesitant, let's hurry and arrive before Tucker's men.
We'll protect him.”
A hint of hesitation flashed across Bailey's eyes.
After a moment of silence, she shook her head and said, “Zeke is correct. We need 'Archie' to end up in Tucker's
hands to provoke a conflict between him and Sofie. We released Sofie with the intention of turning her against Philp
and his son, didn't we? If her son doesn't die in Tucker's hands, how can we ignite their confrontation?”
Actually, Sofie would have already arrived in Pandera by now.
Nevertheless, they got Raymond to deploy the power of the Hoffman family to delay her arrival.
Ultimately, if her son fell into the hands of Tucker, she would naturally assume that it was Tucker who had been
obstructing her all along.
Their motive was to incite a confrontation between Sofie and Philip, along with his son, hoping to witness them
turning against each other.
This chance to escalate the conflict was too significant to pass up, so she couldn't possibly let it slip away.
“Let's do this. Since Tucker's men are here to capture the kid, let's leave it to him.”
Artemis raised his eyebrows, his expression a mix of amusement and seriousness as he said, “And here I thought
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtyou had taken a liking to that pretty boy. On the way here, I've been pondering how to kill that kid. If you said you'd
protect him, I will definitely pepper him with bullets.”
Bailey couldn't help but roll her eyes.
What a green-eyed monster.
“Do you think Tucker's men can capture that kid?”
Artemis gave a faint smile. “If he fails, we can lend a helping hand.”
With a sigh of resignation, Bailey wondered if he would stop being this evil.
After a moment of silence, she inquired once more, “Earlier, you mentioned that Archie might have acquired
access to the Hoffman family's top secrets. If he ends up with Tucker, wouldn't these crucial secrets then be in the
hands of Philip and his son? What if they both spill these secrets when they were in danger? Won't the Hoffman
family be ruined directly?”
Artemis looked at her with a smile, raising an eyebrow. “Isn't it better if the Hoffman family is ruined? Your
apprentice's dream of becoming a queen will be shattered, and Zeke can also get the beauty he desires. It's a win-
win situation.”
She had to admit that his words made sense.
In the IT department of Insterstellar Tower, an office door swung open at the end of the corridor.
A young woman in a professional suit strode briskly to the desk.
“Mr. Archie, you can't stay here any longer. You must leave immediately. I've received news that the man sent by
Mr. Tucker to capture you have already arrived in Pandera.”
Sitting behind the curved office desk, a young man was rapidly typing on the keyboard.
“I know. I'm currently duplicating the confidential documents. Give me another thirty minutes. You can go ahead
and arrange the private jet, and I'll be there shortly.”
The female bodyguard pursed her lips, gritting her teeth as she spoke. “Ms. Carr just contacted me. She's currently
being restrained by the Hoffman family's special agents and can't escape. We need to leave immediately as per
strict orders. We can retrieve those confidential documents later. Right now, your safety is the top priority.”
Archie paid no attention to her, focusing solely on the task at hand.
At that moment, the sound of a siren suddenly echoed from outside the building.
The female bodyguard swiftly approached the floor-to-ceiling window, noticing the caution tape already strung up
below. Her eyes suddenly darkened.
“Mr. Archie, the staff have been forbidden from entering and exiting the lower floors. It appears that Mr. Tucker has
mobilized the security department to cooperate. If we don't leave now, we won't have the chance to.”
“D*mn it,” the young man muttered a curse under his breath as he forcefully terminated the data output. After
removing the flash drive from the computer, he initiated the formatting process.
With a casual toss, he handed the flash drive to the female bodyguard, speaking lightly. “I can't leave now because
Bailey is here. She'll assist Tucker in capturing me. Pass this flash drive to my mother and inform her that it contains
the secrets of the Hoffman family. If she can use it wisely, she'll undoubtedly gain control of the entire core
industrial chain within the Hoffman family. It's the only thing I can do for her. And she need not worry about whether
I live or die.”
After uttering those words, the young man casually retrieved his coat from the chair and nonchalantly left.
As the female bodyguard prepared to follow, she was suddenly halted by a dart shot by him.
Observing his determined figure walking away, she glanced at the flash drive in her hand and eventually made her
way toward the windowsill.
Since she couldn't protect him, she could only safeguard the flash drive he had fought so hard to obtain.
As soon as Archie stepped out of the office, a group of people in black clothes approached him head-on.
He lifted his arm, and a few smoke grenades flew out from his hand.
In the next moment, the entire corridor was filled with thick smoke.
Bang, bang, bang!
Gunshots echoed all around, followed by an unceasing series of screams that filled the air.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe entire company was in chaos, with employees panicking and scurrying in every direction, clutching their heads
in fear.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Archie escaped from the men and darted into the elevator. Once inside, he
immediately destroyed the switch on the wall.
The elevator descended rapidly, reaching the underground garage in no time.
He scanned his advanced wristwatch on the sensor area, and the door opened in response.
After stepping out of the elevator, he sneered, “I knew I couldn't escape. My plan was to let them catch me
upstairs, but I wanted to meet the legendary Big Shot, so I managed to escape and get here. Now that we've met,
why not reveal yourself?”
A soft chuckle echoed from the shadows as Bailey emerged from the underground passage.
She still wore a mask on her face, gazing at the young man in front of her with an amused smile.
“Fascinating. It's a pity that you happen to be the son of Sofie and Mr. Philip. Fate has placed us on opposing sides.
No matter how much I admire you, I won't keep the son of my enemy close, which means your death is inevitable.”
Archie raised his eyebrows, his gaze falling on the mask on her face. “I came with sincerity, yet you present
yourself behind a false facade. Bailey, this is not how one makes friends.”
Bailey waved a finger in the air dismissively. “No, I'm not here to befriend you, and it's impossible for us to become
friends. Your parents are destined to meet their end at my hands. To you, I am the enemy who killed your father
and mother. We will not stop until one of us is dead.”
At this point, she gave a faint smile, subtly changing the subject. “Actually, I could offer you a swift end, and then
pin your death on Tucker, sparing you from enduring his torment any longer. What do you think? Do you want me to
send you on your way?”
Archie shook his head with a gentle smile. “Why choose death when there's a chance to live? If I were to die, my
mother's pursuit of the Hoffman family would lose its purpose. Perhaps, in the end, she might even let go of her
hatred.”
That was highly possible.
