Chapter 871 An Imposter
What on earth is Simon up to? Didn't he attend the wedding to end things with her? Why did he end up bringing that
woman back to the base? On second thought, it's my fault. I should've warned him that Catherine and Luna would
be here.
“Your dad must have had a reason for doing this.” Artemis spoke up beside them.
With that, he reached out and picked the little girl up.
“Luna, be good. If your dad dares to act foolishly, I will teach him a lesson.”
“Hmph.”
Observing the little girl's proud and coy expression, Artemis couldn't help but chuckle. “Your demeanor is just like
your aunt's. There's no doubt you're a true member of the Luther family.”
Bailey stepped forward to greet them.
When Caridee pulled Aisley out of the back seat, she blurted out, “Didn't you wear a mask? Why are you showing
your own face?”
“Caridee” was inwardly stunned.
Bailey was capable of seeing through everyone. No one was an exception.
“B-Bailey, you're back. When I went out, I did put on the mask. An accident occurred, and I lost the mask
accidentally.”
Bailey's gaze turned dark, yet her expression remained the same.
“I'm glad you're back home safe and sound. And who might this be?”
When she asked about Aisley, “Caridee” quickly spoke up. “Bailey, she is Simon's girlfriend. We misjudged her
earlier as she didn't plan to marry into the royal family,. She has her own reasons.”
Bailey's gaze swept over Aisley's face, her expression indifferent.
Having encountered numerous individuals, Bailey only needed to take one look at Aisley to discern the latter's
temperament.
Aisley seemed like a gold-digger was not even a fraction as kind-hearted as Catherine.
No, she wasn't even deserving of being compared to Catherine. To do so would be a blatant insult to Catherine.

“B-Bailey...”
Aisley was about to build a rapport with Bailey when the latter interrupted her.
“Ms. Aisley, kindly refrain from addressing me that way. I'm not fortunate enough to be related to the future
princess. You can just call me Mrs. Luther, or Ms. Jefferson is also acceptable.”
A hint of embarrassment crossed Aisley's face.
At that very moment, Luna, who had been nestled in Artemis's arms, suddenly squirmed free from his embrace and
jumped to the ground.
“You are pretentious and disgusting. You are nothing compared to my mommy.”
With that, the little girl glared fiercely at her father before running away.
Artemis turned his head toward Simon and exclaimed, “What are you waiting for? Go after her! She's your
daughter. Do you expect someone else to console her?”
Simon quickly regained his senses and hurriedly chased after the little girl.
“Luna, let me explain.”
Observing Simon leaving her behind to chase after his daughter, Aisley became extremely angry and swiftly set off
to follow him.
Without thinking, Bailey reached out to stop her and said cheerfully, “Ms. Aisley, you must be exhausted after
today's events, right? Caridee, take her to your place to rest for now. Whatever needs to be discussed can wait until
she's well-rested.”
“Caridee” was worried that if she stayed too long, her cover would be blown. Now that Bailey was asking her to
leave, she naturally agreed.
“Of course, Bailey. You all can continue with your tasks while I assist Aisley in getting settled.”
“Okay, go ahead.”
As Bailey watched the two leave, her expression gradually darkened.
“Artemis, something has happened to Caridee.”
Artemis was taken aback.
His attention was entirely focused on Simon and Luna, so he did not pay much attention to Caridee.
Upon hearing Bailey's words, he subconsciously furrowed his brow.
“Wasn't that Caridee?”
With a sarcastic laugh, Bailey commented, “That scoundrel Tucker really went to great lengths, creating a fake
Caridee to deceive Shaun. He's put a substantial amount of effort into this. I nearly didn't notice the difference since
they look practically identical. Their voices are also remarkably similar. However, my mask carries a distinct
fragrance that lingers for three days and is impossible to dissipate. If Caridee had worn my mask, she would
undoubtedly carry a scent I'm familiar with. However, this imposter doesn't carry that scent.”
Artemis's expression changed.
If the fake Caridee is here with us, doesn't that mean the real Caridee has fallen into Shaun's hands?
“I'll gather my men right away and lead them to take down Shaun's...”
Before he could finish speaking, the sound of urgent braking echoed across the outdoor grounds.
Veikko jumped off the off-road vehicle.
“I dispatched a few top experts to protect Caridee this morning, but there was a sudden explosion at the wedding
banquet. The chaos among the guests made it difficult for them to move among the crowd. Caridee disappeared
from their sight for a moment. Bailey, has Caridee returned yet? She hasn't been injured, has she? I can't reach her
on the phone.”
A calculating glint flashed across Bailey's eyes, and the atmosphere tensed up as she spoke with a serious tone.
“Caridee has returned, but the person who came back is an imposter. I'm afraid your wife might have fallen into
Shaun's hands.”
Simon quickly regained his senses and hurriedly chased after the little girl.
Veikko's legs gave way, and he almost crashed to the ground.
“W-What did you say?”
Bailey reached out to steady him, her voice cold and detached. “I told you the truth, and you heard it clearly.
Caridee is now in Shaun's hands. They took advantage of the chaos at the wedding banquet to pull off a
switcheroo.”
Veikko broke free from her support and turned to leave.

“Gather my men to save Caridee.”
“Don't act recklessly. If you act rashly and alert the enemy, she'll be in more danger.”
Veikko halted in his tracks as he narrowed his eyes. “What do you mean by that?”
Bailey's gaze fell on the back seat of Simon's vehicle.
After a moment of silence, she scoffed, “If he simply wanted to kidnap Caridee, why bother going through the
trouble of bringing an imposter here to replace her?”
“You're saying?”
“If I'm not mistaken, Shaun is scheming to use this imposter to get close to you and then eliminate you without
even lifting a finger. By leading people to Shaun's hideout, you're essentially revealing that we've seen through his
ruse. Can you truly expect a despicable person who can abandon his own wife and son to release Caridee through
negotiations? What if he uses Caridee as a hostage? What options will you have then? It's not worth risking your life
alongside such a scumbag.”
Veikko took a deep breath, slowly calming his emotions. “But Caridee is in his hands, and he will mistreat her. You
have no idea how sick that bastard is, he could torment Caridee endlessly.”
After contemplating for a moment, Bailey suggested, “Caridee should be capable of taking care of herself.
Remember, she learned hypnosis and dream-tailoring skills from me. By combining these techniques, she should be
able to hold Shaun off for three to five days. Let's not rush. We'll figure out a solution gradually.”
Veikko gritted his teeth. “All right, I trust your judgment. If I have to, I'll die with her. What about the impostor? Do
we kill her?”
A cold glint flickered in Bailey's eyes as she sneered, “Killing her would be letting her off too easily, don't you think?
Take her to the Saviors. Mr. Xydias' daughter, Mindy, nearly died in their torture chamber, right? She must hold a
deep grudge against Caridee for tormenting her. Take this imposter to the Saviors' branch and let her vent her
anger.”
Artemis gave his wife the thumbs-up.
“As expected of you, Bailey. You are indeed merciless.”
Bailey gave him a kick. “Scram.”
