In Ryan’s house,
“Let’s stop here.”
Leo and the twins were sitting on a sofa in the hall as Leo narrated a story for a while before standing up.
“Brother Leo, please continue the story.”
“What happened after that?”
The twins were drawn entirely by the story and wanted Leo to continue telling them.
“It’s late already. I will continue the remaining story tomorrow.”
Leo could tell that the twins had to sleep on time because of their condition. So, he promised them to continue the remaining story tomorrow.
Soon, Leo had his dinner with Ryan and others before leaving for his room.
‘I was waiting for this day for the last 10 years.’
Leo was happy to stay and eat together with his siblings after a decade. At the same time, he was worried about the twins as they didn’t have much time to live unless they fully awakened their talents.
‘Creak’
‘Come out.’-.
After closing the door, Leo looked at the corner of the room and muttered in a low voice.
‘Swoosh’
‘Master.’
Soon, a silhouette came out from the corner of the room and greeted Leo respectfully.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe silhouette was pitch black in colour, looking like a shadow while emitting a black aura around it. It was wearing a red cloak.
Because of the black aura, the facial features of that being were not visible clearly; however, two sharp teeth can be seen protruding out of its mouth.
‘Didn’t I order you to not follow me?’
Leo returned to his usual cold self as he asked the shadow sternly.
‘Master, I am worried about your safety and….’
‘Worried about my safety?’
Before the shadow being could finish its words, Leo interrupted and shook his head before asking, ‘Since you are here, who is managing your duties there?’
‘It’s Victor. So, Master doesn’t have to worry about it as you know he is much more capable than I am at taking care of those things.’
Vladimir was worried that his Master would be angry for secretly following him; however, when he heard Leo’s question, he became happy because it meant that his Master wouldn’t be sending him back.
‘Victor?’
Leo was surprised by Vladimir’s reply and asked, ‘How did you make him take your place? Even though he was good at those things, he was never interested in them.’
‘Of course, it was not easy, master.’
Vladimir shook his head as he replied in a sad tone, ‘I had to give him fifty percent of all the mutated beast blood I stored for the last 100 years.’
‘Haha…no wonder, he accepted to take your place.’
Hearing that, Leo could not help but chuckle and asked Vladimir, ‘So, is it worth secretly following me here?’
‘Yes, it is.’
Vladimir nodded his head without any hesitation and explained, ‘For a shadow vampire like me, protecting my master is the top priority.’
That’s right!
Vladimir was not a human; instead, he was a monster that came out of another world.
After residing on earth for more than 100 years, the hideous monsters started gaining consciousness and started evolving into humanoid beings.
Among those evolved hideous monsters, Shadow vampires were one of them.
‘But listening to the Master is not your top priority, right? Also, what about Victor? Is he not a Shadow vampire like you?’
Leo mocked Vladimir for not following his orders.
‘…’
Vladimir remained silent and didn’t say anything as he disobeyed his Master’s orders.
‘As a punishment for disobeying me, you have to protect Julia. You must have already seen her, right?’
At first, Leo was angry at Vladimir; however, after hearing Victor take over his place, he was not mad at all.
On second thought, he was happy with Vladimir’s appearance as he would be the perfect bodyguard for Julia. Meanwhile, Leo could focus on other things.
‘Yes, Master. I saw her earlier. You can rest assured, Master, I will put my life on the line to protect her.’
Vladimir nodded and swore to protect her even if it cost his life.
‘Sigh…when will you stop your exaggeration? Why do you need to put your life on the line when you can easily escape with her?’
Vladimir had some unique skills, and even if he met with some powerful heroes, he would easily escape right under their noses without any problem.
So, he just asked him to protect her properly.
‘Yes, master.’
Rubbing the back of his head, Vladimir embarrassedly nodded his head.
‘Also, don’t ever let your presence be known to others. Otherwise, even I can’t save you then.’
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLeo asked Vladimir to be careful because humans would not think twice about hunting down a monster that dared to enter a city.
‘Yes, master.’
Nodding his head, Vladimir disappeared into the darkness without any trace.

In the dining hall of the Ambermane family,
“I heard she is still alive? Have you developed feelings for her or what?”
The leader of the Ambermane family, Liam, asked his youngest son Zac in a stern voice.
“Father, you must be joking. Why will I develop feelings for a girl like that?”
Zac was anxious as he hurriedly replied to his father politely.
“Hm”
Liam nodded his head as he continued eating without saying anything.
“Father, don’t worry. I already sent someone to take care of her tonight.”
After hesitating for a moment, Zen informed his father about what he had planned for Julia.
“I don’t care what you do; however, if the family name comes out, I will kick you both out of the family.”
Liam paused eating and looked at Zen before saying those words.
After that, he resumed his eating without looking at his sons.
Zac and Zen looked at each other and started eating without talking about anything.
‘They must have gone there already. By the time we finish this meal, we will hear the good news.’
Zac silently thought in his head as he looked at his brother with a grateful look.
It was his fault for not taking care of the morning incident, and this time, since his brother was helping him, Zac was very confident Julia would not live past tonight.
