Shela zoned out for a while, then finally resorted to crying a river to Elgin, “Mr. Ramirez, I-I messed

When he looked up and caught the icy look in Elgin’s eyes, his legs turned to jelly, and he abruptly

stopped talking, not knowing how to proceed.
