She’s gotta be patient and wait for that day to come!

Mr. Ramirez, even Letitia can walk all over me now. Shela sobbed. “Did you ever think that she might

be bad news too? I faked a pregnancy, but she’s carrying another man’s baby! That’s a slap in your

face!”

Mark immediately chimed in. “Exactly! When Shela dragged her down the stairs with her, she was just

trying to lend you a hand, to make Letitia really lose the baby! Otherwise, if word gets out, where would

that leave your reputation?”

The father-daughter duo had Letitia in their crosshairs

Just as Letitia was about to say something. Elgin cut in. “I will handle her myself!

“Mr. Ramirez..

“Get lost” Eigin’s eyes were fierce, “Reflect on yourself!”

Shela’s bluster was shattered by his roar, meekly she said, “I’ve been reflecting all along. Mr. Ramirez.

She even dabbed at the comer of her eye, trying to milk some sympathy.

“I fake a pregnancy and you get mad, yelling at me. But Letitia carries another man’s child, and you put

Every other word from her mouth was about the baby in Letitia’s belly.

This father and daughter, their hearts set on making her abort the baby, hadn’t changed a bit!

Suddenly, Letitia stepped forward and slapped Shela twice across the face.

get humiliated…” Shela cried and wailed, her voice carrying far

Letitia crouched in front of Shela and whispered so only they could hear-

“You better not mess with my kid again, or I’ve got ways to make your life even more miserable! Shela,

you’re probably clueless about how I found out about your lake pregnancy and miscarriage, right? Let

me tell you, I’ve got dirt on you, lots more secrets!

My kid is where I draw the line I couldn’t touch you before because Elgin had your back, so you kept

bullying and framing me. It’s different now you’re in hot water, still daring to target my child, I’ll make

you pay in blood! If my child gets even a scratch, your life won’t be worth living

Letitia’s gaze was as sharp as a knife, and Shela, stunned, felt it was somewhat like Elgin

Staying by Elgin’s side, Letitia had learned to be just as decisive and ruthless!

It took a while for Shela to come to her senses Gritting her teeth, she said, “Are you threatening me?”

“Yep!”

“Ha. Letitia, I’ve got dirt on you too. If I can’t turn things around, I swear you’ll never know who the

father of your child is!”

With that, Shela tried to stand up. But Letitia was quicker, her hand pressing down on Shela’s shoulder,

pinning her back down to kneel straight.

“I don’t need to know, I can raise the child on my own, Letitia said “Now Shela, get out, immediately!”

“Hmph, like I’d ever listen to you!” Shela, used to looking down on Letitia and always having the upper

hand, quickly regained her composure, not the least bit afraid.

“Mr. Ramirez!’ she looked up, “Til admit that I deceived you, but I still feel it’s unfair!”

Elgin spoke coolly, “Fair?”

“Yes. Compared to a fake pregnancy and carrying another man’s child, which is harder to swallow?

Obviously, it’s the latter! At least I’m pure and only yours!”

Secing Elgin’s expression darken, Shela pressed her advantage, “Mr. Ramirez, I repent, I’ve been

contemplating my actions, but, I want you to get rid of Letitia’s child’ Otherwise, it’s just not fair to me!*

Naturally, Mark was on his daughter’s side, “Right, Mr. Ramirez, that’s a man’s line in the sand, who

could tolerate that?”

Then Elgin’s steady voice rose, “I will deal with it in my own way, it’s none of your concern.”

Mr Ramirez, can you really stand it?”

“Of course not,” he replied, “but it’s not your place to tell me what to do! Bodyguard!”

“Yes, Mr. Ramirez.”

“Take them…” Elgin had barely started speaking when suddenly a “ding dong” chimed.

The distinct sound of an email alert on a phone.

And the source of the sound was… Letitia’s phone.

“Who’s emailing you so early in the morning?” Elgin’s piercing gaze swept over, “Hmm?”

“I, I haven’t checked, probably someone from the office”

Letitia’s heart raced, but she tried to appear calm.

She had a hunch.. that email was from Walden! After Walden went abroad, their only contact was

through emails, and it was Walden sending them one-way, she never replied.

For fear of Elgin finding out

She didn’t expect her inbox to ping night now!

No matter how much Letitia tried to hide it, she couldn’t escape Elgin’s sharp eyes.

The slightest bit off, and she couldn’t slip past him.

“Hand it over” Elgin reached out, palm open.

Letitia swallowed hard, “Hand… hand what?”

“Your phone. I want to see your emails.”

“I already told you, it’s from the company…”

Elgin’s voice grew stern, “Hand it over!”

Letitia hesitated. If Elgin saw it, it would be over. But not handing over the phone would arouse his

suspicion

After a few seconds of thought, Letitia slowly reached into her pocket…

All she could do was silently pray to the heavens that the email wasn’t from Walden, and if it was, it

shouldn’t mention anything about investigating Marcels death!

Otherwise, she was toast!

Elgin was staring at her with laser focus, not even blinking.

Letitia had just whipped out her phone when, outta nowhere, Shela pounced like a cat and snagged the

phone right out of her hands!

“Shela!” she cried out totally shocked.

Shela was no dummy. Letitia hemming and hawing like that made it obvious that email was shady

business! Of course she’d jump at any chance to knock Letitia down a peg!

“Give it back!” Letitia lunged to grab it.

But she was a second too slow. Mark zipped over, stepping in front of her, and yelled, “Shela, check it!”

Shela’s face lit up like she’d just hit the jackpot, like she’d saw some earth-shattering secret.

Letitia’s heart skipped a beat!
