Colt reached his arm out and griped my shoulder. I wasn’t sure how long we sat there and

cried together but Alec eventually grabbed me and pulled me back. I watched as a couple

warriors came over with a wooden stretcher. Carefully, they put dad on it and started

carrying him. I guess I was too distracted by the flower to miss the pile of wood that was

gathered about a hundred yards away.

When the warriors headed in that direction, I saw my old and current pack walking up the

hill. “Dad didn’t think he would make it long so he arranged his own funeral.” Colt said, his

voice was thick with emotion.

Alec kept his arm firmly around me as we walked over and sat down in the front row. I

didn’t have it in me to look at everyone. Everyone from my past and my present. Penny

handed me a tissue before she took her seat on the other side. There wasn’t any murmurs
