It hasn't even been a full twenty-four hours and I'm al- ready going crazy about Ledger being gone. I don't know how mates deal
with losing their mates in death because mine is still alive, but I feel like dying without having him here with me. I feel like it's all
my fault and that's why I am going with Quinn to go get them. I am willing to die myself to get Ledger back here where he
belongs. It makes no difference that I've only known him a few days, he's our mate, and so he is our life.
Cici is pissed that she has to stay behind, but the little minx has no combat skills really, and will be no use to Quinn once they are
over in England. I'm in search of my little mate now because we will be leaving within the hour, and I want to give her a little

"Here you are!" I find her in the library going through a stack of books, "What are you doing?' I ask as I close the door and
silently lock it.
"I'm trying to find something that will tell us a little more about the Shikari or just witches in general. There's got to be something
that that says how we are able to stop them." My beautiful mate explains all of this without taking her eyes off the book she is
flipping through.
I walk over to the table she's sitting at and glance at what she's reading as I also take in what she is wearing. Lucky for me, my
mate loves her skirts, so this ought to be easy. I slide the book that she is looking at forward, towards the middle of the table.

It is nice of Alpha Deke to lend let us use his jet to go after our mates, and it is even better of him to come with us be- cause we
are going to need as much help as we can get. I just hope we all make it out of there and back home to our loved ones. I know
Deke no longer has a mate, but he does have a son and he has a pack to run, so it's important that he comes back.
We are waiting for take-off when I turn to the Alpha, "Al- pha Deke, will you promise me that if things get rough, you will back off
and come back to the jet? I need you to make it back home to your pack and your son."
"I appreciate your concern, Beta Spencer, but that is my family that we are going to rescue, and I will not back off when the heat
gets turned up."
I chuckle, "I imagined not, but I at least had to try." I look over at my own Luna who is flipping through a magazine..

"Don't even think about asking that of me, Spence."
I sigh heavily, "It's really hard to do my job when working with stubborn Alphas and Lunas." I mumble under my breath, but they
still hear me because they both snicker.
The flight is about seven and a half hours over to where we are going, which by the looks of the red blinking dot, is right outside
of London. Once we are fully in the air, I lose contact with my mate and so does Quinn. It's a bit harrowing not to have that line of
communication open to Cici anymore. I'm so used to feeling her within me that it's become a part of me and now it feels as
though a piece of me is missing. I didn' t have that connection long enough with Ledger to feel it to this extent, and it's very
unsettling. The only thing that is keeping me grounded is my link to my Luna, thank Goddess.
Glancing over at the Alpha, he doesn't seem bothered by it one bit, "You get used to it when you fly as many times as I do." He
chuckles, knowing exactly what I was going to ask.
"How often do you fly, and where do you fly to?"
He shrugs, "A few times a year, I guess. I take vacation twice a year and then I usually fly when meeting up with other packs for
alliances around the country."
"You have alliances with packs all over this country?" I ask incredulously.
"Of course! You can never have too many alliances and you never know when you're going to need help in that area. I' ve tried
getting Declan to do the same, but he thinks I'm wast- ing my time." The Alpha chuckles.
"I, for one, think it's a smart move on your part, Deke." Quinn states without lifting her eyes, "Declan will have to get used to it
now, since we are Queen and King." She finally looks up at the Alpha and winks.
"I'm sure he will just love that." Alpha Deke states.
The quiet cabin after everyone stops talking finally lulls me to sleep in my reclining chair. My sleep is fitful, but I never wake up,
not until Quinn wakes me up, "Hey sleeping beauty, we are about to land, and I thought you may want to use the restroom before
we have to buckle up in case we don't have time when we land."
I sit up and look around the cabin and see that all is still quiet, "Why wouldn't we have time when we land?" I ask a bit confused.

Quinn sighs, "We are dealing with witches who may know exactly when we land. That is why we are landing in the next town, but
we still can't be too sure."
I growl as I get up to use the bathroom, "I fucking hate witches!"
Quinn chuckles, "Careful, Spence, your mate is a witch, re- member that."
"Yeah well, at least with him, I can use my charm, and maybe even my smoking hot body." I grumble and they both laugh.
