Chapter 30
Quinn
"We are not getting off this plane." Deke states just as the wheels of the jet touch down on the runway.
"What do you mean we aren't getting off?"
"My Beta just radioed the pilot. The moment we step foot on England soil, the Shikari will know and they will come for us.
Apparently, Ledger made contact with Cici and told her that she had to warn us. He also said that he has his magic back and that
he will be teleporting both him and Declan back home tomorrow."
"Why tomorrow?" Something doesn't make sense, "If he can teleport, then what is he waiting for?"
"I'm not sure, but I think we should listen, Quinn." Deke sounds a bit worried.
"We came all this way, knowing that we may have to fight..."
"Yeah, that was before, when we thought we would be sneaking up on them! This has turned into a suicide mission, Quinn!"
"I'm not leaving without my mate!" I state as I cross my arms.
I know I'm being stubborn but it's almost as if I can feel him, I sit straight up, wait a minute...I try to link Declan but it's

no use. I thought for sure I'd be able to link him from here. I try linking Ledger next and to my relief, he answers.
'Luna Quinn, you have to leave; do not get off that plane!'
'I heard already, but I'm not leaving without my mate.' I state once again.
'I promise that I will get us home, but you must go before my father's men find you.'
'Why are you waiting until tomorrow?'
He sighs over the link, 'My father has my mother locked away. He's promised to take me to her tomorrow. Once I know where
she is at, I can grab her before bringing the three of us back to Dark Moon, but you need to be ready to fight when we get there,

my Queen, because my father will follow with his army.'
'Ledger, how is Declan? He isn't answering my link.'
'He only has a link open for me, and that is so I can go down and heal him each time they visit him. I'm not going to lie to you my
Queen, he is doing better than he was before I got my magic back, but he is still receiving his beatings every few hours.'
I hear Tala whimper at the same time I do, I can't just leave, Ledger.'
'Luna Quinn, if I know my father, the wards that he has up will not only alert him to your presence but it will trap you where you
are until his men come for you. So, again, I beg you, do not step off that plane. Take off and don't stop unless you really have to.'
'We are going to need fuel, Ledger. I don't think we will make it out of England without fueling up.'
'Where are you located?'
'We landed in Hertfordshire. We figured your father would have some wards up around London.'
'You thought right, and you picked a great place to land because I have a friend close by in the country and he will be able to fuel
you up. Just sit tight until I contact him and then I' Il send you the coordinates. You will never have to get off the plane."

'Thank you, Ledger. Please can you have my mate open his link for me before we take off again?'
'I will see what I can do, Luna.'
'Thank you.'
Trying to explain everything to the guys is stressing me. out even more. More than anything I want to say fuck this and just jump
off this plane, but if Ledger is correct and I get stuck on this runway, then where is that going to get me? I'm in the middle of
telling them why Ledger is waiting until tomorrow when an overwhelming sense of love crashes into me.
'Déclan...'
'Hey baby. I hear you wanted to speak to me.'
I choke a little as I let out a small cry, 'I came for you, babe. I will always come for you, but since you got yourself mixed up with
witches, we can't get off the plane or else they

will know, so we have to turn back.'
'Yeah, Ledger caught me up to speed, but you shouldn't have come for me, baby, it's too dangerous.' My mate says in his stern
yet sexy as hell voice.
'I will come for you every time.' I say breathlessly.
'Remind me to spank that gorgeous ass of yours when I get home.'
'You can punish me all you want, as long as you come back to me.'
'I love you, Quinn. Never forget that.'
'And I love you, Declan, always and forever."
'Now, you must go. You need to prepare that sexy ass for a war back home, I will see you soon.'
'Yeah, okay. Take care baby, and come home to me as
soon as you can.'
'I will, now go.'
He breaks the link and then blocks me once again. When I look over at my Beta, I see that he's linking his own mate, so I glance
at Deke. He's pretending to stare at something inter- esting out the window, and I have to chuckle.
"I'm done, Deke."
"Yeah, I'm always uncomfortable when others are linking their mates.' His tone is sad, but he gives me a smile anyway.
"I'm truly sorry for your loss, Deke. I hope that, eventually,
you can find happiness with a chosen mate again."
"Actually, I may have but I haven't asked her yet. I know she's partial to her own Alpha." He gives me a sly grin.
"Oh, my goddess, I knew it! You and Demi; am I right?"
His grin gets broader, and he shrugs, "Maybe."

"Well, I can always fire her, if that's the hold up. I know good nannies are hard to find, but I'd do it for the two of you!" I exclaim
very excitedly.
He throws his head back and laughs, "I will let you know if I need you to fire her, no worries."
"Okay," our conversation is cut short as my Beta comes up to us, "Ledger gave me the coordinates to get us to his friend' s place

and he's expecting us. He will be there waiting to fill her up when we get there." He informs us.
I feel as though I've failed my mate. I'm so fucking close to him and yet still so far. I have to believe in him and that Ledger will
get them all back safe and sound. In the mean- time, there is a war that we need to prepare for, and I hope that the Goddess is
on our side when that time comes, giving me the strength and the knowledge of the power that she has given me to use.
It took us no time at all to find this friend of Ledger's and fuel back up to head home. It seems like we have been on this jet for
days and yet it hasn't even been twenty-four hours. So, the moment the wheels touch back down on home soil, I send up a
prayer to the Goddess Selene, asking her to give all of us
the strength to get through what's to come.
Stepping down off the jet, I turn to Deke, "Thank you, Deke, for everything. I'm sorry it was all for nothing, though. I will transfer
money to your bank for the cost of fuel."
"You will do no such thing, Quinn. If I see money show up in my account, I'm going to withdraw it and then come over just to
shove it up your ass!" He chuckles.
I give a fake gasp. "Alpha Deke! Is that any way to talk to your Queen?"
"No, but I wasn't talking to her, I was talking to my cousin." He gives me a bright white grin. I laugh and then hug him be- fore
getting into my car and heading back home.
"You know, this isn't going to be an easy feat, fighting witches." My Beta says but then chuckles, "Do you know what your little
friend was doing before we left?"
I smirk, "Fucking her mate in the library."
He curses under his breath, and I laugh, "You can't have sex with your mate in the pack house without everyone know- ing. I
smelled it as soon as I came downstairs!"

"Anyway," he growls a little annoyed, "Your best friend was researching ways on how to stop a witch. Since she can't fight like
the rest of us, Cici wanted to be helpful in some way."
"Cici, was in the library, reading?" I ask astounded. My friend hasn't picked up a book since freshman year, unless it's a steamy
romance with lots of raunchy sex in it.
"Exactly! She's really wanting to try and help, so maybe we should think about letting her be responsible for more things around
the pack, and getting her into a training class. I want to start her training first, though. You know how she will feel if we put her in
the beginners class with the young ones." He snickers.
"Oh, my Goddess, she will never go for that!" I totally agree with him.
"So, it's agreed? As soon as all this shit with the hunters is settled, we will start her training." He asks.
I shrug, "Unless she has an issue with it, I don't see why not, but maybe, knowing how Cici is, I should make it manda- tory for
pack members to train, even if it's just basic combat skills; they need to be able to protect themselves somehow."
"Thanks, Quinn. Even though Cici will probably cuss you out every chance she gets, she will be grateful in the long run."
"Yeah, I know Cici all too well, Spence."
I pull up to the pack house where there are still lights on, which is weird since it's the middle of the night, but then a short little
blonde bursts through the front doors and down the stairs, throwing herself at her mate. All I can do is smile and be happy for
them, and hope that I will be able to do just that really soon.
