Chapter 648 - Beginning Of Operation
"What is this about?" Max looked at the familiar guy in front of him, and then turned his head to look at Ragnar.
August was standing beside Ragnar and Max was sure that he wasn't the part of the plan here.
"I want to participate. I have nothing better to do." August looked at Max and took a step forward.
"What about the competition?" Max looked at him with a frown.
"I am not the one participating this time." August was adamant on it, and Ragnar could only smile helplessly. The guy had come to meet him ever since he arrived in Trinity. It seemed he found out something was up.
After bugging Ragnar for a good while, the two ended up with a bet.
The drew a large circle around them, and the person to be pushed out would be the loser.
If Ragnar won, August would be leaving quietly and in case he lose, he would have to answer August's questions.
Even though Ragnar was sure that he wouldn't be losing. He seemed to have a rotten luck or was fooled to be more specific.
After all, it was not all about brute force in fight like this.
"You don't need to worry about me." August looked at Max with a calm and confident look on his face.
"Even if that's one thing, what about the competition? I am sure they would need your help since Wilson and Lear are out." Max's frown deepened. It would be tough for them to fight this time around.
"Why aren't they participating?" August asked with a frown.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Wait, you don't know?" Max's eyes widened in surprise. It seemed they had forgotten to tell him about it with all the stress and tension.
"Did something happen?"
Max looked at the guy, and sighed. He then went on to explain to him what happened last night.
"Why did no one informed me?" August's face had instantly turned dark. He really felt that these guys were intentionally doing this. Why the hell was he always left out?
Not to mention, this time things had become so dire.
"No one expected it to go down like this." Max shook his head with a sigh. His face was still a bit sour.
"Anyway, its not time to be down." Max muttered and then pushed everything out of his head. Today was the time when they would begin their operation. Until now, nothing looked out of the place. But still, there was nothing wrong in being cautious.
"You guys are here early?"
Max turned his head and saw Rihanna enter the room, smiling at him. She was as energetic as usual and behind her was Synthia wither her usual not so happy face.
"What's wrong?" August looked at Synthia in confusion. He didn't remember seeing her with a face like this before.
"Nothing.." Synthia shook her head with a smile. "But, why are you here?"
She looked at him, a bit surprised. They knew each other since they were all part of the Ancient Families and both of them had high level standings due to their parents. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on ɴo(v)elFɪre.net
"I will be participating too." August replied with a slight smile on his face.
Synthia turned her head to look at Max. She seemed to sense there was something off about him today.
"What's wrong with him?" She couldn't help but mutter.
"Something happened last night.." August just cut it short like that.
"Serves him right.." Synthia snorted.
But, the moment those words left, it made everyone expression sour. At least of those who had heard what had gone down last night.
Raganar and Bell exchanged a glance before looking at Max. But to their surprise, he sat there without a word. His head was down and no one could see his expression.
Suddenly, a wisp of killing intent was felt by those with extremely sensitive senses.
It hadn't come from Max, but from August.
"You should watch your words. It's better not to speak when you don't know what's going around." August just smiled at her, but for Ragnar and Bell who could clearly see his fist clenched behind his back. They knew that the guy was pissed.
It had been a while since they had seen him react like this. After all, he should have known that Synthia didn't have any ill intentions behind her words.
It seemed that whoever the person was, he must have held a lot of importance for August.
"Uh...I see.." Synthia replied awkwardly. She didn't have anything against August. So, it became a bit difficult for her to reply to him. Not to mention, she wasn't like that in reality. It was just that Max was annoying to her.
And, why wouldn't he be, they guy had kicked her ass in front of everyone. It was another matter that she had tried to kill him before.
"Sir, we are ready to move." A voice sounded in Max's ear. It was time for them to begin their actions and stir some trouble.
"Begin to evacuate the remaining people out...we are going to move in.." Max raised his head with a cold look in his eyes. Now that he thought about it, those assassins were all from the Dark Society.

Arena, Trinity Academy..
"Woah!"
"Wooh!!"
The crowd roared as the countdown for the competitions began.
"10..9..8...7....3...2...1!!!"
"Begin!!"
The crowd roared together as the huge screen hanging down from the Airship signaled the beginning of the competition.
There were two games being played on the first day of the competition. And, the lottery for the teams which would be competition was about to be drawn.
The screen showed the leaders of all the Academy on the stage.
In the absence of Lear, Axel had stepped up to fill in his shoes. And, this had indeed left people wondering what was going on as Arcane was missing people on their side. They had gained a lot of attention recently, and hence it wasn't escaping anyone's eyes.
Among the other teams, Ocien was missing its leader as well. Erina was still in the hospital as unlike Axel, she had taken quite a beating.
So, Zeld had stepped up in her stead.
'Please not the first one...' Axel prayed inwardly as he stood in front one of the boxes ready to pick his number up.
