Chapter 661 - Surprise
"A Supreme…"
Max's face immediately turned grim. This was definitely not within his calculation. From what he had heard, the Yule family indeed had Supreme Tiers but they were like dead old men living by their coffins. There was no telling when they would die. These fellows would usually stay within the family, and would only come out in extreme situations.
This situation was indeed one of them, but this wasn't Ocient and Max was sure that this Old man was the First Elder of the Yule Family. He had seen it in one of the data records when he was going through all the powerhouses currently present in Trinity.
But, the list had recorded him as a Grandmaster at the late stage. Yet, he was clearly a Supreme and to be honest, he seemed a lot stronger than Roman. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on (f)ir(e).nᴇt
Just who was this old man?
Were the Yule Family hiding their powers?
Max wasn't entirely sure, but this sure had messed up his plans. This was beginning to get really troublesome.
He had to think of something quick.
"What now? That sure backfired on us.." Naze closed in on Max as he resisted the pressure coming from the Old man who was still in the crater releasing his energy.
"We can't back down now.." Max muttered with a serious look on his face. He wasn't going to give up after coming this far. He had to try at least.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Do you have something in mind?" Naze asked as he looked at Max.
"I do, but I am not sure if it's going to work." Max muttered with a frown on his face.
"Are you asking me to die?" Naze asked as he looked ahead at the battle.
"You sure are cocky to enter a battlefield even without thinking of death. Besides, I am the commander. I would brand you as a traitor if you run now.." Max looked at him with a smile on his face.
"Well, that surely ain't my style for sure." Naze shook his head.
"Get yourself in the position you find most comfortable to strike in.." Max looked at him with a serious look on his face, "Strike after me.."
"Aren't you being warm hearted?" Naze smiled at him. If he was the second to strike, he would surely have a chance to react and even flee if Max failed. That sure was something that he hadn't expected.
"Idiot…" Max shook his head, "It's just that I don't feel confident with you striking first. Hence, I will do it, while you will use that advantage to deliver the final blow if he still has some life left in him.."
Naze didn't say anything, but just left to take his position with a smile on his face.
Max, on the other hand, looked at the battlefield with a frown.
'This is going to be hard..'
He sighed, and finally decided to go with a risk idea.
The next second, a white colored energy split up apart from his body forming a figure resembling his own.
…
"This b*stard.." The Bald man who was up above in the sky looked at the white pillar of light with a nervous look on his face. He was practically starting to sweat. He definitely hadn't expected that the man as Master Tier Mage.
"Who are you?" He asked looking at the white pillar of light which slowly dissipated to reveal the old man standing there with a calm look on his face.
"I thought I told you about it way ahead of time.." The old man repeated the same thing while pointing at the symbol on his uniform. It seemed that he was going to keep the act up till the last second.
The Bald man couldn't help, but grit his teeth. Most of the Supreme Tier who were regularly seen around were either the Older generations Lords or the Great Elder who were still working. And, he was sure that this man was neither one of them.
It could only mean that he was one of the retired old monsters from the Previous generations. But, he couldn't understand why such a personality was deployed here.
Just what in hell were Roxley's trying to do?
If there was such a person coming here to begin with, why was there even a need for the Army and such a huge fuss.
"You sure might be getting your way today. But, don't forget that you're thoroughly going to offend the Dark Lord today. It won't end in peace.." The Bald guy looked at the old man with a threatening gaze.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"It really surprises me that you still have the guts to be threatening me at this stage. Shouldn't you be trying to run, Young man?" The Old man asked him with a curious look on his face.
"Like you would allow me to do so.." The Bald guy sneered at him.
"Well, to be honest, I might do so as long as you return the lady that you have been holding hostage.." The Old man calmly said while looking at him.
To be honest, he would certainly prefer to save his forces and avoid unnecessary bloodshed if he could. Besides, if they found his identity, it would definitely cause a problem for the Yule Family someday and he surely didn't want anything to happen to the family.
"Lady?" There was no way that this Bald Branch leader had any idea about what this old man was talking about. He wasn't the one behind this after all.
"What are you talking about?" He further asked, looking at the old guy.
"Are you going to play dumb?"
"I really have no idea what you are talking about.."
"Well, I will have to make you talk the harder way then.." The Old man shook his head with a sigh, and the next instant, a white light once again began to revolve around his body.
It sure was one strange thing. Even Max couldn't tell which element it was. But, he could still feel a strange sensation.
"First grade energy.." His expression changed, and the next instant, he realized what this energy was.
"Sun.. he is drawing energy from the sun.." Max's eyes widened as he finally realized why he felt it to be familiar.. It was something that he had practically seen and felt for his entire life.
