Chapter 155

Paisley's first instinct was to check the front of her car. Seeing no scratches or dents, she let out a small sigh of

relief. Then, a low groan of pain caught her attention.

She looked down and saw a tall man lying in front of her car. He was dressed simply a black fitted turtleneck and

tailored dress pants.

One glance was enough to tell he was someone who worked out regularly. And judging by his attire, he likely

lived nearby and had just been out for a walk.

The man was clutching his knee, his face twisted in pain. Rain soaked his hair, the droplets rolling down his

striking features. Even in pain, he didn't look the least bit disheveled. On the contrary, he looked effortlessly

handsome. Even in pain, he still looked hot.

Paisley immediately labeled him as a ruggedly handsman.

"Are you okay?" she crouched down in front of him, placing a hand on his knee and lower leg to check for any

injuries.

She wasn't sure if she was responsible for his pain, so she needed to confirm his condition first. But the moment

her hand brushed against his leg through the fabric of his pants, she felt a chill-his skin was ice- cold.

She looked at the man in surprise, and just as she did, he looked at her. The man's eyes were very captivating,

as if they held many stories, deep and profound.

He seemed surprised that this woman had immediately touched his leg, and a flicker of astonishment appeared

in his eyes. When their eyes met, she saw the ssurprise reflected in his eyes.

"Could you helpup first?" the man asked.

As he spoke, the veins on his forehead were prominent, and it was clear he was in a lot of pain.

"Sure," Paisley replied. She had just touched his leg, and his knee and calf seemed fine.

She couldn't check his thigh directly, but judging by how he fell earlier, the thigh bone should be okay. She used

all her strength to barely help the man up.

Holding an umbrella, Maria carried Serena out of the car and walked over. "Paisy, it's getting heavier. We should

get inside."

Paisley looked up at the sky. The rain was indeed getting worse, and visibility was becoming poor.

At that moment, the man's gentle voice sounded in her ear. "Thank you for helpingup. You can go inside

now. Don't worry about me. My people will be here soon."

"But your leg." Paisley looked at the man's leg. Even though he was trying to hide it, she could still feel him

trembling.

"It's fine," the man smiled faintly, "Just an old injury. You didn't cause it, so don't worry."

Hearing that the man wasn't hit by a car, Maria relaxed and pulled Paisley along. "Paisy, let's go inside. It's too

cold. Serena might catch a cold."

"Mm, okay," Paisley agreed, walking a few steps before noticing that the man was still standing motionless in the

rain, his expression even more painful than before. It seemed he couldn't walk on his

own.

She turned back. "How about you cinside and get out of the rain? I'll take a look at your leg."

She had already felt his calf and knee, which were ice-cold and not in the usual way.

The man hesitated for a moment before responding in a distant tone, "Alright, thank you."

Paisley asked Maria to take Serena inside, and she slowly helped the man into the villa. It wasn't a very long

walk, but it took them quite a while to get there.

Once inside, Paisley helped the man sit on the sofa. "Sit here for a while. I'll be back soon."

"Okay," the man said politely, enduring his pain. Even though he was clearly in discomfort, he kept a composed

smile.

Paisley first asked Maria to get shot water, then went to fetch ssilver needles. Serena watched

her mom and Maria busying themselves and, feeling unoccupied, wandered around the living room. She found

herself by the sofa.

With her big, shiny eyes, she looked at the strange man on the sofa. "Does it hurt a lot?"

The man looked at her, who was only a bit taller than his knee, and tried to respond in the gentlest voice, "Mm, a

little."

Serena blinked. "Then it won't hurt for long!"

"Why's that?" the man asked.

"Because my mom is amazing. She'll fix you!" Serena said seriously, always eager to promote her mom. "My

mom is the prettiest, strongest, and kindest mom in the whole world!"

Hearing Serena's soft, innocent words, the man couldn't help but smile, and it seemed like his pain eased a little.

'The prettiest?’ He recalled how the woman looked when she helped him in earlier.

Yeah, she was indeed beautiful. But as for curing his pain, that was a different story. His legs couldn't be fixed.

"You're really handsome!" Serena continued, her admiration clearly showing.

When Paisley walked in with the tools, she heard her daughter calling a strange man handsome, and her face

immediately turned red with embarrassment.

"Maria, please keep an eye on Serena," she said.

Maria quickly picked up Serena, but she only moved a little further away, not leaving the living room. She

couldn't leave Paisley alone with a strange man in a room. After all, Paisy was so beautiful-what if that man had

bad intentions?

Paisley was unaware of Maria's worries and was instead focused on the man's leg. As a doctor, she felt necessary

to take a look at him.

Plus, the man had fallen right outside her house. Even though he said it wasn't her fault, she wasn't sure if he

might cause trouble later because of this. Paisley wouldn't leave this potential risk unresolved, and fortunately,

she could handle it herself.

"Letsee your leg," Paisley said, looking calm. She squatted in front of the man, lifted his calf, and pulled up

his pants leg without saying another word.

The man froze, and before he could say anything, her hands were already on his calf. A warm, soft sensation

spread distinctly across his cold legs.

At spoint, a slender silver needle appeared in the woman's delicate hand. She lightly pinched it with three

fingers and carefully inserted it into his calf. A tingling numbness swept through the man's entire body instantly.

He looked at the woman in front of him, astonished. "Do you actually know how to treat people?" Paisley didn't

even lift her eyes. "Of course."

As she spoke, she inserted a second silver needle into his leg. This time, it felt as if a gentle warmth flowed into

his leg, dispelling the persistent, bone-chilling cold that had plagued him.

The man looked at Paisley, his emotions complicated. He had to admit, he'd misjudged this woman. He had

thought she had ulterior motives for approaching him...
