He could tell Thalassa was deeply attached to the kids. It tugged at his heartstrings seeing her like that. After all, it had been three years since he'd last seen his own children. He knew exactly how Thalassa felt. His eyes, usually so deep and unreadable, now betrayed a hint of sorrow. But when Thalassa turned around, he quickly looked away, fixing his gaze on the road ahead and smoothing out his expression to pretend he hadn't been watching them at all.
Thalassa opened the car door and got in, still radiating a sense of reluctance to leave. "When can we go visit the kids at school?" she asked.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"The second Sunday of every month is visitation day. It's the end of the month now, so just two weeks to go until we can see them," Lysander answered her question.
Thalassa nodded, buckled up, and leaned back in her seat, falling silent. Although two weeks seemed a long wait, she understood the school's policies.
"Got enough energy for one more errand?" Lysander suddenly asked.
Thalassa opened her eyes wider, intrigued. "What errand?" "It's about Susan," Lysander didn't hide it.
Thalassa blinked, taken aback by the sudden mention. It was a lot to process on the spot, but then she remembered just how much trouble Susan had caused. And why was Susan out modeling at the finals instead of being detained by the police? That was suspicious indeed. Thalassa wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"I'm up for it. Let's go," she said.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLysander then instructed the driver, "Drive." As the car turned around and headed in the opposite direction, Thalassa asked, curious, "Didn't Susan run away after her runway fiasco? Where are we going to find her?" After all, with all the bridges Susan had burned, fleeing the scene after being booed and heckled off the stage would have been anyone's natural response.
"She couldn't escape. My security team has her under control," Lysander's voice was low but firm. Despite his authoritative aura, Thalassa noticed a change in him. He was different from before; he used to disdain explaining anything to her. She had to guess everything on her own. But now, he answered every question she had, providing reassurance at every turn. It was a comforting change. No more constant anxiety and unease around him.
Thalassa nodded, understanding. "So, you've already taken care of it."
Lysander had always been one step ahead, ensuring Susan couldn't cause more trouble by escaping pore again. Susan was a walking disaster, and if she had managed to get away, who knew what kind of messshe'd create next time.
After a while, the car pulled up in front of a bar. Thalassa followedn Lysander inside and as they passed by a private booth, they heard loud screams.
"Ah, stop, don't touch me! If you do, you'll regret it!" The screa e screams didn't evoke sympathy, instead, they were filled with a defiant arrogance. Renta! This Vampire Won't Give Up! Madoka Kitaji/Kodansha Ltd Gooo-
