When Leon arrived on the edge of the battlefield, the battle was so intense that he was not noticed at first. He saw his three summons putting up an intense fight against a single man. From them, he could tell that he was incredibly strong. However, he was yet to personally step in. He wanted to observe the situation first before making his entrance.
He was not the only one that was watching the situation. Several powerhouses on both sides that had chosen to stay back and wait for an opportunity were also surveying the field to see when it would be best to intervene.
The most likely battle to intervene with was the ones where Low A ranks fought against each other. That was the thing when it came to battles. The tiniest slipups were enough to result in a fatality. This factor was even more exacerbated when it came to battles between A ranks.
As Leon was watching, he noticed that the battle between Richard and Rudy was coming to a head. At the same time, the battle between his summons and Axel was also reaching its climax.
'I guess now should be the right time.' Leon decided and his eyes blazed. 'The best way to make a dramatic effect will be to launch a powerful attack at once. Divinity is key here.' Leon thought.
A white flame burst out of the seams of his armor and he vanished from his spot, appearing high up in the air. With a bellow that commanded attention, the battles on all sides temporarily came to a stop.
Axel turned his eyes up. He could feel that Leon was powerful, but he believed that this was just a temporary burst of power that would allow Leon to stun him. He slicked his wrists to tear apart the three summons at his feet, but was stunned when Leon suddenly appeared in front of him. The barrier that he always kept up was instantly torn to shreds by the white flames that covered Leon's body.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"What?!" Axel tried to teleport away, but when he did, Leon followed.
"You can't run from me." Leon calmly said and reached forward.
At this point, the various High and Mid A ranks on the Demons' side that had been waiting in reserve finally sprung into action. They needed to make sure that Leon did not take out a talent like Axel!
"Damn boy! Your pride has gone to your head and now you might die!" An old woman dashed forward. Her eyes glowed with power and several Undead beings rose from the ground. She was a Necromancer!
As the Demon Continent was a paradise when it came to Dark magic and Unholy energy, it had a much higher concentration of Necromancers. While most of them occupied the lower ranks, there were still quite a few that were A rank.
Of the Undead she had summoned, most of them were powerful enough to contend against Low A ranks when they teamed up together. A couple of Specters flew alongside the woman and began to brew up a nasty attack to hurl at Leon's mind.
The specialty of Specters were their mental attacks. They were supposed to shake Leon's concentration and delay him long enough for the others to swoop in and save Axel.
Around her, four other A ranks of varying strengths also hurled their attacks forward at Leon. The Undead that were optimized for close combat rushed forward in order to hit Leon up close.
However, even with all this opposition, Leon did not even waver. He reached for Axel, but the man dodged, and Leon only grazed his arm. However, the effects were devastating.
"Argh!" Axel groaned in pain as his left arm went limp. The limb was as pale as a dead body and drained of all lifeforce. Instead, a nasty energy was swirling inside it.
The old Necromancer recognized what was happening and warned.
"Get away from him, boy! He'll turn you into an Undead!" She yelled, hoping that the proud fool would listen to her and give Leon some space.
Boom!
"I'm not that weak!" Axel growled as the temperature around him suddenly plummeted. In the next moment, it rose to absurd degrees, causing a strange effect that caused the air itself to explode!
Axel's body was blown backwards and he let out a sigh of relief. However, in the next moment, Leon appeared behind him and grabbed a hold of his head.
"No-!" Axel was about to struggle when a wave of Divinity flooded his body.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Hmm, that was easier than I thought." Leon hummed to himself and tossed Axel's body into a black mass of mana that had appeared beside him. He would let the transformation finish in his Domain to prevent anything from happening. He did not want the other Necromancer to interfere.
"Noooo!" The Demons and their allies knew how terrible it would be if Axel was turned into Leon's summon and fought alongside him.
"We must end him today!" They decided and turned their attention to Leon. If they could take care of him, then their problem would be solved. They could stomach the loss of Axel if they were able to take out an opponent who managed to finish him in mere moments.
A barrage of powerful attacks came flying toward Leon, but before they could reach him, a flash of red light blocked their attacks.
When the light and dust from the attacks cleared, everyone saw Nero standing in front of Leon. His shield was held up valiantly while his eyes blazed with rage behind his helmet. All those attacks were like water against a leaf on his his shield. The reason why he was able to withstand all those immensely powerful attacks was down to one thing - Divinity!
Leon was actively powering Nero, Kaladin and Grokus with his Divinity.
"All who stand against my Master shall die by my sword." Nero did not yell out this proclamation like normal, but his calm tone was enough to send shivers down the backs of everyone.
"Fall back!" The old Necromancer was the first one to notice that a fight against Leon right now would be hopeless. She quickly sent her summons, including the stronger ones to hold off Leon and his summons.
Her style of Necromancy was different from Leon's and when they died, she would have to go through a hassle to create a new army. However, she did not care. After all, she could always rebuild an army, but she could not regain her life if she died by Leon's hands!
