405 Michael's Ascension
"To think that he actually did it." A few Minor Gods spoke amongst themselves as they waited alongside their fellow transcendent beings. They were all waiting for the star of the event to show himself.
Whoosh.
The large double doors that led into the large hall cracked open and a single figure stepped through. Silvery gunmetal hair swayed in the slight breeze as Michael carried himself in a dignified manner that was befitting of a Major God.
Yes.
After nearly a thousand years, Michael had finally crossed that one final step that allowed him to ascend into the ranks of Major Gods! Datar had gained a second Major Fate God!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMichael soon reached the gathering of Gods. He had a triumphant smile on his face as he stood opposite them.
"Congratulations, Michael." Fazir said with a mysterious smile on his face. He stepped forward and held a hand out to Michael. "Your Divine Authority has grown by leaps and bounds ever since your initial recognition from the Temple of Gods. It is good to see that you have not stopped growing ever since."
"Thank you." Michael nodded his head. His growth could only be attributed to himself and his hard work over the long years. He had relentlessly sought new opportunities in the world even though the faith that could be gained in Datar had already been carved up by the older Gods.
Michael stood in place as several more Major and Minor Gods came forward to congratulate him. This was a big event, as it had been millennia since the last ascension of a Minor God.
As Michael looked around, he noted that the people present belonged to either the Good or Neutral Faction. They were all Gods who preferred to keep things in order, unlike the absent Chaos Gods.
"Now that you have reached this level, I believe you and Fazir should be able to achieve much more solid results concerning our impending 'calamity'." Dardan, the God of Beasts stepped forward and said, rubbing his chin. His green skin was adorned in a great number of jewelry and other items that made him look ten times more flamboyant than usual.
"Yes, I was thinking along the same lines." Fazir nodded. With his powers, he was able to roughly guess the timeframe when the darkness on the horizon would arrive, but with similar power to his own, then the predictions would be more accurate.
In regards to the 'calamity' that they spoke of, it was a long prophesied calamity that would be brought about by an army of darkness that traveled from world to world, scouring all life in the worlds.
The army was made up of an uncountable number of mortals, and had an ample amount of powerful Gods backing it. It was led by multiple True Gods, even, with combat power at the peak of what any world had seen.
Fazir had gotten a vision a century ago. Within that vision, he had seen Datar being razed, and all life on the planet swept away in a torrent of black, poisonous flames. Nothing was spared, not even the Gods.
However, there was a silver lining of hope. As a Major Fate God, Fazir had been able to grasp multiple futures where the outcome could be different. In one of those futures, he had seen a Datar that had been spared from the black, poisonous flames. In that Datar, several powerful warriors had risen. The origin of these warriors was souls that had been reincarnated from other worlds.
"In the past one hundred years, four worlds have fallen to the Army of Destruction. Ours in next in line, and the only thing that we can rely on is the presence of our Ace Candidates and the fact that we have Fazir and Michael to predict for us." Asteria stood beside her father with a hand on her hip.
"One thing that the latest worlds to fall had in common was the fact that they had no Major Fate God. Without someone of such power, it is impossible to see into the future when it concerns another God, not to mention several True Gods." Dardan commented.
The gap between a Minor God and Major God was just too large. The gap between a Major and True God was equally, if not even larger, but Major Gods could do many more things that Minor Gods could not. That was just how things worked.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAfter a bit more discussion, they went to work. Michael and Fazir retreated to a private room. The room was not too large, but it contained a large number of precious resources that did not even exist in Datar and were exclusive to the Celestial Realm.
There were complicated and profound runes and magic circles all over the room, all created by Michael and Fazir. Several formations hung in the air, rotating around the room.
"This is the first time you are doing thing, so there are a few things you need to know." Fazir said as he prepared to begin the process. "Your mind will come under an immense burden. It will be nothing near what I had to endure when I did it on my own, but it will still be a heavy burden for someone who is doing this alone. It is not easy to pry into the business of several True Gods, after all."
Michael nodded his head, enjoying the feeling of Fazir speaking to him as an equal, instead of a lesser.
"Good, not let us start." Fazir said and closed is eyes. As he closed his physical eyes, a profound presence slowly descended into the room. Michael also closed his eyes.
At the same time, the bodies of the two Major Fate Gods suddenly burst into a cloud of bright, misty light. Then their celestial bodies manifested, allowing the full weight of their grace to descend into the room.
Michael felt his mind's eye open up to the truths of the multiverse, but at the same time, he felt as if he was a mortal staring right at the sun.
"Argh..." He grunted.
"Careful, this way." He felt the familiar presence of Fazir manifest beside him and guide him away from the blinding presence.
