Chapter 415 Hidden Skill
Upon seeing that his attack had failed, Leon quickly put some distance between himself and Garessa. He looked around to find his summons locked in combat with opponents that matched their power. He did not know if these were also Garessa's summons, but one thing he did know, was that she had come prepared to stop him. Even his signature moves were not effective against her.
"Give up now. You can't win against me. I have studied your record extensively, even your exploits in the recent war with the Demon Continent. There is nothing of yours that I don't know." Garessa said in a flat tone.
"Is that so? Do you truly know me that well?" Leon paused and said, turning back to her.
"Save us both the strength. I don't care much about this war. I just want you to come with me to my master." She said.
"Hahahaha!" Leon suddenly burst into laughter. "Hahahaha! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe sudden outburst surprised Garessa. She did not know what Leon had up his sleeve so she put up her guard and prepared to use her True Necromancy Magic.
"You think you know me well enough to plan against me?! Think again! I am constantly improving! I am BETTER!" Leon declared and the air around him suddenly turned wild an unrestrained. The mana in the air turned heavy and hot and the Divinity within his Core began to boil and churn as it moved according to Leon's will.
"LET ME SHOW YOU TRUE POWER!!!" Leon's voice boomed across a huge distance as he activated his Divine Body Supreme Skill. He had never actually used this skill to its true potential. In fact, there were many aspects of his powers that he had simply not used, either because he had no idea about them, or he simply did not want to.
However, now that he was face to face with an opponent that had made plans against most of his skills and moves, he had decided to pull out a move that he had not used even once.
"Nedra!" He called out to his Spirit Companion and a white light flashed around him as she responded to his will. She had already known of this ability that she shared with Leon, but had never used just because there had been no proper opportunity.
To use this skill, they needed to be of the same mind and they needed to act at once or else it could be interrupted. It was even more likely to be interrupted if they were not physically present with each other at that time. This was a major limiter that had been lifted after their latest Race Advancement.
"Let's do it!" The shadow of a giant white millipede that was dozens of meters long appeared behind Leon. It's red eyes flashed once before the shadow shrunk down and wrapped around Leon. A bright white light flashed before being overtaken by a black light and an oppressive aura. Within that black light, Leon's body grew to a staggering four meters in height.
When the black light finally died down, Garessa was taken aback by the wild sight that she was presented. The black armor that wrapped around Leon was now replaced by a while armor that was covered in black and purple markings. On the chest plate, a skull was engraved that had two open eye sockets. Purple-red flames surged from within the eye sockets emanating a deadly aura that made even Garessa pause for a moment.
The four meter tall armored giant that appeared in Leon's place completely surprised those who paid attention to the battle. A heavy, pulsating aura wafted off his shoulders, causing the hearts of the living beings to palpate. Garessa's summons came under a lost of psychological pressure all of a sudden, causing their movements to stutter and their effective strength to drop a notch.
The skill that Leon and Nedra had used was a skill that all people who possessed a Spirit Companion possessed. It was just like how Beast Tamers were able to borrow the strength and characteristics of their tamed beasts to gain strength and power.
They had never used this skill, but with things being as they currently were, it was a necessity. This skill combined the strength of both of them, giving them an exponential boost in combat ability!
"..." Garessa was a bit speechless. She had read reports of Leon being in dire straits, yet never using a skill like this. She wanted to believe that this was a new skill of his, as only then would she feel that her preparation was not in vain.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm'It seems I will still need to rely on the master if I cannot prevail.' Garessa thought to herself. She did not despair or lose faith. Instead, her desire to do battle surged even higher, reflecting in the aura of the blood red shadow around her that suddenly went wild.
"Come, Leon Cromwell! Show me your strength! Prove to me that the attention you have received from my master is worth it!" She floated forward and called out to Leon.
"Of course." Leon's eyes flashed red within the visor of his helmet as he held his hand to the side. A large greatsword that was almost as tall as his current form appeared, made from what looked like shiny white bone. He took a step forward and a deep imprint was made onto the ground as it supported his immense weight and pressure. Just the level pressure of his body was enough to leave an impression on the world around him.
BOOM!
A sonic boom rang out as Leon's body surged forward. He did not teleport and simply moved forward. A streak of white light flashed through the sky before the giant figure clashed against Garessa's blood red phantom that had taken up a guarded posture.
"I hope you won't break too soon. It has been too long since I last fought to my heart's content!" Leon chuckled as he pushed against the sword in the phantom's hand.
"I should be the one saying that." Garessa responded, narrowing her eyes.
