Skyler retorted with the unwavering conviction, [Kids never lie, you know. It's you adults that are the fibbers.]
The other end of the conversation fell silent, as if mulling over a complex puzzle. It was quite a while before a response came
through. [Alright, I'll take a leap of faith and trust you this time. I'll get in touch with you later.]
Skyler replied with a smirk, [I'll only tell the real Geoffrey, so don't bother sending simposter with a rubber mask to fool me.
I've got eyes like a hawk and I'll spot a fake a mile away.]
Kane and William cbounding over.
"Hey, Skyler, did you drop the bait?" Kane asked with a glint of mischief in his eyes.
"Yup," Skyler nodded with a sly grin on his face.
William blinked, "You think your brother bought it?"
Skyler shrugged, "He's gotta take the chance. After all, he won't get Tanya's news from anyone else but me."

"We better get our ducks in a row and set a trap that'll catch him red-handed," William said, his voice filled with anticipation.
"Sky Will will make a go."
With the holidays around the corner, the kids were on break, and the Stirling Mansion was alive with excitement.
Lisa brought Nova over too. Nova was transitioning from baby babble to full-on human speech. She crawled up to William, "William,
givea hug!"
William scooped her up and planted a couple of smooches on her chubby and rosy cheeks.
"Nova, wantto tell you a story?" he offered.
"Yes!" Nova clapped her tiny hands with joy.
William picked up a storybook, ready to tell her the tale of the Ugly Duckling.
Aurelia arrived with Nina and Mira, having just cfrom Sheryl's place.
The woman who had impersonated Sheryl had fled the country under the cover of night. Leopold had sent people abroad to track
her down, but she was likely using a fake identity, which was difficult to find.
"Nova!" Mira scooped up her joyfully, covering her face with kisses before pressing her cheek forward, "Kiss me."
Watching the children, Lisa smiled, "Nova wakes up asking to cover here these days."
"With all her siblings here to play with her, of course, she's happy," Aurelia said, stroking Nova's hair. "Aren't you, Nova?"
"Mhm," Nova nodded vigorously, "Play... with brothers and... sisters."
Right then, the phone rang. It was Sheryl calling.
"Aurelia, you need to get online right now. Just moments ago, the wife of the man who was poisoned publicly accusedof
murdering her husband. It's gone viral."
Aurelia felt a chill run down her spine and quickly stepped out into the yard, pulling out her phone.
In the video, a woman held up her ID, stating with utter certainty, "The day Sheryl visited her daughter and gave her daughter
poisoned chocolates. Sheryl wanted to kill her sister-in-law and husband, but instead, her daughter gave the chocolates to my
husband..."

A cold fire flashed in Aurelia. This had to be the work of someone pulling strings behind the scenes. Otherwise, the man's wife
wouldn't know the truth.
A small voice cfrom behind, "Aunt Aurelia, I'm scared..."
Aurelia turned to see Nina standing there, her face pale as a ghost.
Nina had been sitting by Aurelia's side and had caught snippets of the conversation from the phone. Curious and concerned, she
followed Aurelia outside.
Aurelia wrapped her arms around her, "It's okay, don't be scared. Uncle Leopold and | will take care of this."
"Will the police cfor me? What do | say?" Nina cleaned her tears, trembling her little shoulders.
Aurelia patted her back gently, "Uncle Leopold will have someone handle this at the station."
Nina sniffled, "But everyone will think | poisoned those people."
"It wasn't you," Aurelia consoled her. "It was a bad person, someone who pretended to be your mom and tricked you."
