The man masquerading as Raines was also a member of the Stirling family by blood. It was likely that the brothers were all half-
siblings, none sharing the smother and father.
Chad was a thoroughbred scoundrel, a real Casanova.
Thankfully, the Stirling family had strict traditions that prevented any sort of intense rivalry among the sons. Only Geoffrey, the
black sheep, couldn't find peace, always stirring up trouble.
Nina stood to the side and said, "Grandpa, | need to vent about dad. He's too much like you, never home, never caring forand
Mira. It's all because of you passing down those genes. Look at Uncle Leopold and Uncle Arnold. They didn't take after you and
turned out to be great dads."
She turned to Leopold and continued, "Uncle Leopold, maybe we should place sbooks on his grave instead. Keep him from
raising hell in the afterlife, help him reflect and improve."

Leopold choked on his breath and coughed softly, "Alright."
If Chad could hear his granddaughter now, he would be rolling in his grave.
On the way back, William was deep in thought.
He didn't want Leopold and others to keep honoring the fake Liam at the grave. He was the real Liam and very much alive. But he
didn't want to acknowledge Leopold as his dad. He had a dad and revealing the truth would break his dad's heart.
What a dilemma for someone his age! Why did he have to deal with such complex issues?
Kane, on the other hand, didn't have to worry about any of this.
When Mira mentioned she was craving pizza, Leopold took them to a pizzeria.
As they settled into a quiet corner, a loud call rang out, "William!"
A blond-haired and blue-eyed girl rushed over excitedly and hugged Kane. She was trembling with excitement as she spoke in
English, "Oh my gosh, | was just thinking about calling you when | got back, and here you are!"
Kane didn't recognize the girl and looked bewildered. But William did. It was Susanna, one of his best friends from Goldstone.
However, with his disguised face, how could Susanna recognize him? So she mistook Kane, who looked just like him, for William.
William raced his heart, feeling like his cover was about to be blown. What was he to do?
His eyes darted around before he quickly said in their dialects, "Kane, isn't that your online friend from abroad, Susanna?"
Susanna didn't understand their dialects. Kane was quick on his feet and realized the mix-up. "Hey, Susanna, long tno see," he
replied in their dialects too.
Susanna grinned, "Dad said we could go on a trip, and | chose Elysium. You toldabout theose festivals here, and it sounded like

William silently responded in his heart. ‘I miss you too, Susanna.’
He felt a pang of sadness. With his mask on, even his friends didn't recognize him.
He had thought it wasn't a big deal, but seeing an old friend made him realize his mom might be right.
He couldn't wear the mask forever, or his friends in Goldstone would forget him.
Kane forced a smile, "I've missed you too, Susanna."
"My parents and Tommy are over there. Csay hi with me. They've missed you too," Susanna said.
"Oh," William interjected quickly, "You mean Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and your little brother Tommy, right? I've seen them when you
video called."
