The storm outside was raging, its howling winds and pounding rain enough to race any heart. Tanya worried for the little boat she
had been working on, afraid that the tempest might tear it apart or sweep it off into the merciless sea. All her hard work would be
for naught. Yet, stepping outside was out of the question. She could easily be swept away herself to a watery grave.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the sun was shining, and the breeze was mild.
Lisbeth made her way to the sanatorium. "Agent A, I've got good news. We've concocted the antidote."
Agent A lit up his eyes like fireworks. "Givethat antidote, quick."
Lisbeth stood to the side, her gaze icy as winter frost.
"l can give it to you," she said, "But I've got a condition."
"What's the catch?"
"Tellwhere Raines is," Lisbeth demanded.

Agent A let out a snort, the corner of his mouth curling into a sardonic smile. "Do you have a crush on that guy? Planning to
double-crossand the boss?"
Lisbeth produced a small vial from her pocket, its crimson liquid swirling inside.
"The antidote's right here. Spill the beans, and it's yours. As long as Raines is safe, you can leave without a scratch."
Agent A twitched his face, a vein throbbing with tension. "You think I'm an idiot? If Raines comes back, do you think I'd have a
snowball's chance in hell?"
"If you don't tellwhere he is, I'll spill the beans to Leopold right now, let him know you're a fraud," threatened Lisbeth.
Agent A clenched his jaw hard enough to crack a molar. "You breathe a word, and Raines is as good as dead."
Lisbeth hummed lowly. "You're lying there like a broken doll. Do you think you can still pull strings? | reckon the boss has written
you off. Otherwise, why has no one clooking for you? To him, you're just another pawn sacrificed."
His complexion turned a sickly shade. "You're getting too bold for your good. Are you itching for a death wish?"
"It's you who should be worried," Lisbeth retorted. "Your time's ticking away. You'd better think hard."
"You fucking bitch. Don't bullyjust because | can't move. Wanna bet | can make sure you never see another sunrise?" Agent A's
words were laced with venom.
Before he could finish, Lisbeth tossed the vial of antidote into the trash with a definitive snap.
"That was the only hard-won dose. If you don't want it, fine by me. It's notwho'll be lying in bed, half-paralyzed and useless.
Once you're no longer valuable, the boss won't think twice about ditching you. The AK Group has no use for the dead weight."
Agent A shook with fury. "You pick that up right now, or | swear I'll end you."
Lisbeth grabbed his throat. "Right now, I'm the only one who could finish you, and you couldn't lay a finger on me."
Agent A ground his teeth. "Don't forget, I'm still Mr. Raines of the Stirling family. You kill me, and the Stirling family will have your
head."
Just then, the door to the room swung open, and Aurelia stepped in.

"What's going on here, Lisbeth? You two have a spat?"
Agent A swallowed hard. "Aurelia, Lisbeth just toldthe antidote's ready. Let's get it working, yeah?"
"I thought | gave the antidote to Lisbeth already?" Aurelia raised an eyebrow, feigning confusion. "Didn't she tell you how to use
it?"
Agent A bit back his frustration. "Lisbeth is playing hard to get again, givingthe cold shoulder."
Aurelia settled onto a nearby sofa. "So do you agree to her terms?"
Agent A stiffened. "What do you mean?"
Aurelia cut straight to the chase. "Where's Raines?"
At her words, Agent A realized Lisbeth had betrayed him. But he wasn't about to admit it so easily, still playing his part with
stubborn defiance. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Aurelia smirked coldly. "Drop the act. I've known about your true identity for a while. You're not Raines."
