Chapter 656 After all, not everyone could play the darling like Katie, helping him cook up phony scandals.
The club was always abuzz, and many pairs of eyes were watching. Slipping anything past them would be a fool's errand.
When Megan got wind of the whispers, she stomped her way to The Colorbond Club, fuming.
Aside from Leopold and Lana, Fredric, the hotshot Samuel from the Preston Group, and their arm candies were also in the lavish VIP lounge.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLana sipped her cosmopolitan and murmured, “Mr. Leopold, I've just signed on for a reality show, and | hear Avery will be joining us." “Is that a problem?” Leopold's thick eyebrows arched inquisitively.
Lana's lips curled into a playful smile. “No problem at all. | was just thinking Aurelia might drop by the set. It's been ages since | last saw her." Leopold smirked, one corner of his mouth lifting as he casually stroked her hair.
That was when Megan burst through the door, catching them in this intimate moment.
A surge of anger spread from her chest to her head like an erupting volcano.
“Honey, | kept looking for you yesterday at the stulot. Why didn’t you tellyou returned to Elysium?" Leopold shrugged nonchalantly. “William video-calledyesterday. He said he told you." Megan choked on her words. “That little bastard is full of lies. | thought he was pulling my leg." Leopold laughed, dripping with scorn. “How could a three-year-old lie to you? You're gloomy and always plotting something." Lana chimed in, “Speaking so cruelly of a child shows how unkind you are. Honey, you better watch out. Who knows what wickedness she's capable of?” Her affectionate, syrupy call of ‘honey’ could melt even the coldest of hearts.
Megan was stunned, her rage boiling over, wishing she could choke the life out of her.
“I'm his wife. Only | get to call him honey. Who the hell do you think you are to call him that?" Lana sneered and latched onto Leopold's arm. “I'm Leopold's girl. Of course, | can call him honey. Aurelia never minded. What gives you the right to say no?" Megan, feeling anger surging in her chest, almost blew her top.
How dared that little minx stand up to her and not give a damn about her status as the legitimate wife? Megan swore she would knock ssense into Lana and make her know her place.
She grabbed a glass from the table and threw the champagne at Lana, drenching her face and splashing Leopold and Fredric.
Lana leaped up, instinctively slapping Megan across the face. It was such an audible smack, leaving Megan seeing stars, her cheek stinging fiercely.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“You little tramp, you dare hit me?" Megan, beside herself with anger, swung back, only to be yanked away by Leopold and tossed onto the couch.
“If you want to go mad, do it outside, not here making a scene” Megan collapsed onto the couch, clutching her belly.
Thankfully, the couch was soft, or she might have hurt the baby.
“Leopold, how can you treatthis way?” Had he forgotten she still held Aurelia’s antibiotics? Or did this vixen matter more than even Aurelia in his heart? Leopold's sharp gaze sliced across her face as he replied icily, “I despise a jealous woman. If you can't be virtuous and get along with the others, you might as well pack your bags." Lana dabbed at her face and dress with a tissue.
Leopold draped his jacket over her shoulders, the picture of doting affection.
Megan glared at them, her eyes nearly bulging out.
If Leopold had fallen for Lana and ceased to care about Aurelia, Megan's leverage over him was gone.
Her coveted title of Mrs. Stirling was now hanging by a thread.
