Leopold's handsface wrinkled into a frown as he eyed her skeptically. "What's so good about it? | can't see it." Aurelia reclined on the couch, crossing her legs in an effortlessly cool pose, her fingers twirling a lock of hair that had slipped over her shoulder. The corner of her eye lifted in a flirtatious dare, an air of rebellious charm about her. "Whether it's good or bad is forto know. How could you possibly see it?" A flush of irritation colored his vision. "Are you trying to torment me?" Aurelia looked at him earnestly. "Marrying you before was out of necessity. Now, if | had the choice, | want to be more cautious, not rush into it again." Men always want what they can't have, and for what they can get too easily, they often discard them just as quickly.
Leopold clenched his jaw, bothered. It was clear to him that her mind was still with Arnold.
"Do you think you can marry someone else?" She shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, a second marriage requires more caution. | can't stumble in the sspot twice, nor can | get destroyed by the shands twice." Leopold felt like a tornado of frustration was tearing through his insides.
She had no confidence in him, not a trace of trust.

Her happiness stemmed from her utter indifference to him. In her eyes, he was nothing but an optional extra.
"Like it or not, we're getting remarried next month," insisted Leopold. He wouldn't give her the choice because the one she wanted to choose would never be him.
"Get a divorce first," Aurelia retorted irritably, rolling her eyes at him. "I think it's better we keep things as they are. If you can still acceptwithout disdain when I'm old and not so pretty, we can talk about remarriage in case you regret it later, running off to have your fun while | end up the bitter trophy wife." Leopold was speechless.
"Really? Do | make you feel that insecure?" She pursed her lips. "You've handedtwo divorce papers. Where's the security in that?" Leopold sighed helplessly. His past mistakes were indelible.
"Aurelia!" He gripped her shoulders, his gaze intense and solemn, his voice honest and sincere. "I've chosen you as my lifelong partner. That won't change. There will never be a third person between us. There never has been, isn't now, and never will be." Aurelia couldn't believe him, not wanting to be hurt again.
She lowered her gaze, saying bitterly, "Anyway, I'm in no rush to remarry. Let's talk after the AK Group is out of the picture." Leopold managed a wry smile, the taste of bitterness flooding his senses.
Her reluctance to remarry him was because of Arnold, wasn't it? Even if he cleared his name, she would still hesitate.
The real problem was that she didn't love him.
The room fell silent as a grave, the air seemingly frozen.

She had to make it clear to Leopold that she wasn't at his beck and call.
The thrill of mistreating one's wife is short-lived, but the pursuit to win her back is an inferno.
The kidney donation scandal didn't dampen Marianne's spirits. She had grown immune to the poisons of showbiz.
Those in the entertainment industry often had the keenest senses, and the paparazzi stealthily captured shots of Avery and Marianne together.
That day, Avery had been protectively close to Marianne, sparking rumors of a budding romance.
Quentin returned, pressuring Laverne's brother, Perry, to get tested for compatibility. Perry was vehemently against it. There was no way he was giving up a kidney.
