She glanced at her watch almost reflexively. It had been ten minutes. Why hadn't the sound of an explosion rocked the base yet? Leopold's gaze was sharp as an eagle's, piercing through her thoughts with ease. "Don't bother waiting," he said, his voice cutting through the tension. "We've shot the one who wanted to trigger the doomsday device. Remember the secluded island in the Caribbean? It was for you. You'll spend the rest of your days there. It's the greatest mercy my mother, uncle, and | could offer." With a sweeping gesture, several figures in black emerged from behind the rocks, swiftly apprehending Tanya and her aide.
Tanya's fists clenched. The gwasn't over yet. As long as they couldn't locate Geoffrey, she still had a shot at turning the tables. She was confident they would never be able to find Geoffrey.
After a fierce firefight, most of the AK Group's base personnel were arrested or neutralized, with only a few managing to escape in the chaos.
On a lazy Sunday afternoon, Aurelia took Ramona to the hospital to visit Ramona’s parents. After receiving the serum, the doctors had eradicated the virus plaguing their bodies.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRamona had decided to cclean about her "crimes" and apologize to Rocky. She refused to hide like a turtle in its shell.
Rocky's parents forgave her, and after sdeliberation, the school board decided to issue a verbal warning as a deterrent to others.
Megan received word of the AK Group's downfall at Azure Skies Villa. Jewel had fled into the night.
She couldn't fathom how Leopold had dismantled such a vast organization in a single night.
Then Kevin arrived with divorce papers.
"From now on, you have nothing to do with Mr. Leopold." She collapsed like a deflated balloon, her voice desperate. "lI don't consent to this divorce. | won't agree to it! In life, | belong to Leopold. In death, I'll haunt him!" Kevin looked down at her as if he was despising a dying ant. "The truth is Mr. Leopold was never married to you. Your marriage certificate is fake." Each word struck Megan like thunder, scorching her to the core.
"It can't be true. | don't believe you. You're lying! | bore his child!" Kevin's voice was ice cold. "Mr. Leopold never touched you. The man you were with wasn't him." Megan covered her ears as her entire body trembled with shock. "You're spouting nonsense!" Her hysterical screams filled the room as she alternated between weeping and maniacal laughter.
"Leopold, | hate you. | curse you. You and Aurelia can never get back together, and you'll witness Aurelia's death before your eyes..." She was cut off mid-sentence by Kevin's slap, sending her crashing to the ground. "Say one more word, and I'll cut out your tongue." She spat blood onto the floor. "Don't forget that | still have Aurelia's antibiotic." Kevin scoffed. "Mr. Leopold doesn't need it anymore." Leopold had been waiting for the antibiotic to be developed before taking action against Tanya.
With that, Kevin turned on his heel and left.
Megan's screams, raw and hoarse, followed him out until she was screaming blood.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe moon was full and bright that night.
Aurelia sat by the window, gazing at the moon, feeling a peace she hadn't known in a long time.
Leopold approached and wrapped his arms around her slim waist. "Honey, let's never be apart again, okay?" Her heart thundered with emotion. Kevin had told her everything.
He divorced her and entered into a sham marriage with Megan to get the antibiotic to save her.
"Let's talk about getting remarried after Christmas," she suggested.
He spun her around to face him. "Why wait until after Christmas?" She met his gaze, serious as could be. "Because this year has been all misfortune. It's not a good tfor weddings."
