Chapter 045: [Magic Sword]
“Woosh!”
The sound of air rushing rang out through the mountains.
That wasn’t wind brought forth from nature, but one that was made by a person.
The petite black cloaked girl practically transformed into a gust of wind. She raised her head as she charged forward, her eyes gleaming with coldness towards the herd of lizardmen.
A moment later, a pair of weapons appeared in that girl’s hands.
It was a pair of viciously serrated daggers.
While holding that pair of damaging blades, Diere leapt into the midst of the lizardmen.
“Kraa!”
“Kraa!”
The lizardment started crying out.
However, that was the only thing that they were able to do in response.
“Rip!”
When the sound of flesh tearing rose among them, a lizardman wasn’t even able to react before it was torn apart by a cruel looking dagger, spilling a massive amount of blood.
Diere efficiently killed the lizardman closest to her and shook the blood off her dagger.
“Kraa!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Kraa!”
The surrounding lizardmen had finally reacted. Seeing that sight, each and every one of them was enraged. They surrounded Diere and starting swinging their swords at Diere without mercy.
Facing that, Diere seemed to have long since grasped her foes’ movements. Her figure flashed this way and that like a tempest, and with a number of created afterimages, she dodged out of the way of every single sword pointed at her.
In fact, while dodging, Diere also used her movements to follow the lizardmen’s weapons and quickly closed the distance.
“Rip!”
With another flash of her blade, she sliced at another lizardman’s head, beheading it cleanly.
“Rip! Rip! Rip!”
The blades continued flashing, mercilessly cutting apart the bodies of one lizardman after another.
Diere just quickly darted about like that, the daggers in her hands cut down the lives of one lizardman after another like the reaper’s scythe.
It was extremely bloody.
“She”
Shien showed an astonished expression.
Even though he could tell. Diere’s battle power was obviously a good class above compared to the other members of the party.
Vivian just smiled as if she completely expected the scene before them.
“Diere. She’s a skirmisher heavily focused on attack and burst damage. Her specialty is killing with one blow or attacks aimed at the weak point. For the sake of being able to kill her enemies as quickly as possible, she had planed out her ideal skill set since level 1, and through harsh tranining, has learned every single one of them.”
Vivian watched that whirlwind like figure and enunciated each and every sentence.
“A skill that can raise weapon techniques and attack power, [Twin Blades].”
“A skill that can ignore a certain degree of defense power, [Pierce].”
“A skill that increases one’s personal speed in accordance with level, [Agility].”
“A skill that can see through the enemy’s movement and not long dodge the enemy’s attacks, but also use certain abilities to close the distance with them as quickly as possible. The advanced skill to [Dodge], [Close-Quarters Dodge].”
“Plus the skill hat allows one to detect anyone that bears hostility to oneself, [Enemy Detection], every skill that Diere has learned is for the sake of closing to, detecting, and killing her enemies. And she has raised all of them to at least level 5.”
Due to the fact that skill points are limited based on a person’s talent and potential, the fact that Diere could raise so many skills to at least level 5 is a testament to just how many skill points she get at level up, and also just how great her own talent and potential are.
“She’s currently level 59, being only a step away from level 60 and a grade 6 adventurer. And Diere herself is only 16 years old. She’s a full 2 years younger than me, and even Lumia is older than her by a year. Therefore, Diere is considered Lamdrion’s most famous prodigy. There’s probably only a single person in the entirety of the Mitra Kingdom that surpasses her when it comes to talent and potential.”
Vivian’s words made Shien raise his eyebrows. His eyes were similarly set upon Diere.
“I never though that girl is actually a famous prodigy.”
Plus, she’s the strongest existence in Vivian’s party. Her level had actually reached 59. This point was something Shien similarly never imagined.
What Shien imagined even less was the fact that Diere is actually the youngest member of Vivian’s party. Even Lumia who always relied on and stuck next to her was actually older than her by a year.
As for Melika who wasn’t mentioned, that elf girl was probably the oldest in Vivian’s party right?
After all, Shien still remember what the receptionist in the adventurer’s guild had said. Elves are only considered adults at 150 years old, and only then could they become adventurers.
In that case, Diere would naturally be the youngest, yet also the strongest and most talented.
Afterwards
“Diere has also learned one more skill.”
Vivian spoke out in an amazed tone.
“Take a good look. That skill really is something.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was indeed something.
That’s because Shien already saw the sight of Diere using that skill.
“Kraa!”
Seeing its comrades continuously getting cut down, the lizardman that is Diere’s next target seemed to have learned fear. It abandoned its sword outright and instead raised up the shield in its other hand to firmly protect itself.
Facing an enemy with its shield up, Diere not only did not try to circle around, but instead charged straight at it.
“Vring!”
Within her hands, one of the daggers she held suddenly begun vibrating.
A wave of magic power rushed onto that dagger and covered the blade, making it shine with a crimson hue.
“Die.”
Diere mercilessly declared in a cold voice.
“Shink!”
Following a flash from the blade still glowing crimson, that lizardman was split in half along with the shield it held up.
“That’s”
Shien once more showed an astonished expression on his face.
Vivian’s explanation came immediately from beside him.
“That a skill that could one would normally only have an extremely low chance of learning when someone has reached level 70, [Magic Sword].”
Vivian so explained.
“Much like its name, it’s a skill that allows one to add one’s magic power to their weapon’s attack. The higher the level, the stronger it is. It could even extend, retract, or change its shape. Even at level 1, the attack power is more than enough to cut through steel. There’s even records in history of people cutting apart castle walls with [Magic Sword], and there are even legends of Heroes using [Magic Sword] to split the sea. It’s the dream skill of everyone who fights in melee.”
“The status of those in this profession are greatly different from those who haven’t. Since high level demonic beasts and demons generally all have very high defenses, physical attacks generally have a hard time doing any damage to them. However, even elemental and non-physical demonic beasts that are normally immune to physical attacks would end up taking effective damage from this skill.”
“Diere learned this skill three months ago, and she has even leveled it to level 2. That’s also a reason why she’s become a famous prodigy.”
Hearing that, Shien’s thoughts went active.
