Chapter 650
Cedrick was stumped. “I’m not. I swear.”
“Then, aren’t you going to explain what happened between you and Natasha?” Gwendolyn pressed, not intending
to let him off.
The man fell silent.
C-Can I really tell her? She’s going to punch me when we get back to the hotel.
Cedrick fell silent and mustered up the courage before speaking.
“Grandpa had already passed away when I agreed to get engaged to her, so there was no need to worry about
having to go through such risks again.”
Gwendolyn nodded knowingly. “You felt that the Wright family was already safe, so even if she were to marry you,
you wouldn’t have to worry about Maverick’s death. Still, that meant you still liked her, right? You were s
o resolute when you divorced me, and then you got engaged to her not long after.”
Her voice was calm, but there was a hint of iciness in it.
Cedrick didn’t know what to say.
He knew he was at fault.
“I never liked her. It was always you. I wasn’t clear about my own thoughts when I announced our engagement. It
was also because she braved the storm and came over to the villa. She even brought up how grateful she was
because I saved her, so I agreed to the engagement after weighing the pros and cons. The man took Gwendolyn’s
hand and caressed it lightly. “Please, Darling…” he cooed somewhat pleadingly.
Gwendolyn retracted her hand, walked a few steps forward, and placed two bouquets of white flowers before
Maverick’s gravestone. “These are all your own doings, Mr. Jenson. I have nothing to do with them, she said frostily.
Cedrick leaned over. Noticing her expression, he asked, “Are you upset?”
“No.”
“You are. It’s written all over your face.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGwendolyn continued facing Maverick’s grave, ignoring the man beside her.
“I’m sorry,” Cedrick admitted. “I know Natasha hurt you a lot of times in the past, and while she’s paid the price
and is no longer in this world, it’s true that I used to protect her. If you’re mad at me, you can take it
out on me.”
He grabbed Gwendolyn’s hand and put it on his face, looking remorseful.
Gwendolyn shot him a glare, deliberately sounding stern. “I am quite mad, actually.”
“You can punish me according to your family’s rules, Darling.”
The woman snickered. “Fifty lashes with a belt, then. How about that?”
Cedrick clenched his jaw and gulped in silence before nodding. “Okay.”
Amused by his willingness to accept his impending fate, Gwendolyn whispered into his ear, “What if I want the
punishment carried out right now?”
Huht
Cedrick began to lose his usually-calm demeanor. “R-Right now? Here?”
The woman stared at him grimly, neither confirming nor denying her statement. Still, she didn’t appear to be
joking.
Cedrick held his breath and glanced around at the desolate cemetery, his usually-dark gaze now laced with a tinge
of panic,
Am I really going to be punished at a place like this? This is too bizarre.
His charming face paled as he tensed up and braced himself.
Seeing how serious he looked, Gwendolyn couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re so silly! Let’s go.”
She tapped him on the forehead and held his hand, dragging him out of Fairlake Cemetery.
Cedrick looked down at the way she took his hand in hers.
She held my hand, so that means she’s not mad anymore, right? Was she just messing with me?
He bent down and put an arm behind Gwendolyn’s knees, picking her up.
Having been swept off her feet out of the blue, the woman hastily wrapped her arms around his neck. “What are
you doing, being all lovey-dovey in front of all these gravestones? Have you lost your mind?”
“I’m not being lovey-dovey or deliberately flaunting our love,” Cedrick stated matter-of-factly. “This is just the way I
treat you on a daily basis. I don’t want your feet to hurt from walking in those heels, so I decided to carry you. This
is also my way of sincerely making up for my past mistakes.”
Gwendolyn chuckled and inched closer to him. “But you’re just carrying me. That’s nothing for a man like you, right,
Mr. Jenson? How is that supposed to reflect your sincerity?”
Cedrick’s arms stiffened as he saw the mischievous look on her face. Surely, she had a wicked plan in mind.
“What do you think I should do, then, Gwenny?”
“You should…” The woman leaned into his ear and whispered something intimate and outrageous, her warm breath
falling on his neck.
Cedrick’s ears reddened instantly. “Do we really have to do this?” he asked after a long moment of internal
struggle.
Gwendolyn couldn’t contain her laughter. “I can’t believe it. We’re already husband and wife, but you’re still
embarrassed by such a thing?”
The man was bereft of words. Of course, he’d still be embarrassed.
Cedrick’s limbs remained stiff throughout the journey back to the hotel in their luxurious car, and the
mere thought of Gwendolyn’s puckish command made his heart race.
As they walked into the hotel elevator, the woman patted his firm, bouncy rear teasingly.
“You’re already almost thirty, and you’re still so uptight even with your own wife! I remember how forthcoming you
were the last time you screwed up?
Cedrick stared at her wanly. “Are you calling me old?” he asked in return. “Well, it’s true that I’m five years older
than you, unlike those young trainees at Angle.” Feeling aggrieved, he reached for her waist and pulled her into an
embrace. “Still, I’m far more experienced than those boys, and I know exactly how to make you happy. My

With a laugh, Gwendolyn shoved his face aside. “You’re such a showoff!”
Ding
As they arrived at their designated floor, Cedrick took a deep breath, ready to receive his judgment.
The couple headed into their presidential suite, where Cedrick began to undress by the large bed, revealing his
alluring collarbones, toned abs, and solid thighs.
His masculine scent permeated the air.
While biting onto a leather belt, the man lay on his stomach on one side of the bed.
“Do whatever you want to me, Darling. I’m all yours today.”
Gwendolyn gently patted his bum, pleased by how it felt in her hand.
Then, she swung an open palm at it. The pain was moderate, but the slap caused his skin to swell up slightly and
turn a lovely shade of pink.
She closed the curtains in the presidential suite, and the darkness masked all their sweet sounds.
When they were done, Gwendolyn lay in Cedrick’s arms, completely exhausted as he massaged the back of her
waist from time to time.
The woman slept soundly while curled up in her husband’s embrace like a lazy kitten.
Cedrick observed her exquisite face before leaning over to brush his nose against hers.
“It looks like you could use more practice, Darling. You’re nowhere near what I used to be, so just sit back and let
me please you.”
His eyes filled with warmth and also dominance, the man kissed her on the forehead, lips, check, and chir as
though claiming every part of her as his.
Slap!
Suddenly, a half-asleep Gwendolyn struck his forehead.
“Behave. I’m trying to regain my energy.
Cedrick grew despondent.
Not even a kiss? Forget it. There’s no love anymore.
