Chapter 1223: A Large City!
When only Aakesh, Khaval, and Lily were left in the store, Aakesh walked toward the door and then closed it, bringing an end to another fruitful day for the store.
[Ding!]
[Host, "Mission reward: King level cultivation arts" has been successfully transferred. Please check the cultivation arts room!]
The next moment, the system's mechanical, emotionless alerts rang in the store. Lily, who was usually bored, also stood up on Aakesh's head, as she was the one who had summoned the cultivation arts as a product for the store. As for Khaval, he stayed still, relaxing himself.
Aakesh then went toward the room and entered it. The next moment, a larger room with additional murals painted on the wall greeted his sight.
Since there were already five shelves in the room for different grades, there was no new addition to them, except for the fact that the third no longer gave a sense of emptiness.
Aakesh could now sense energy flowing through the shelf as the arts referred to powerful cultivators and no longer were only for low-level cultivators. It was only Aakesh who could sense that without having any energy sensitivity characteristics.
Aakesh then focused on the third shelf. Unlike the earlier two shelves, the third shelf had three rows.
King grade cultivation art worked for cultivators ranging from Lesser God to Supreme God cultivators. Each level in itself was a challenging and significant breakthrough, so each power level needed a different level of cultivation arts.
The bottom row on the shelf was titled [beginner] and was for the Lesser God cultivators. The one in the middle was titled [intermediate] and referred to Higher God cultivators. The one at the top was titled [advanced] and was for the Supreme God cultivators.
Aakesh then bent down and took one cultivation art out from the bottom row. When Aakesh looked at the page, the art he had expected was there.
[Name- The Mountain and Sea Art,
Grade- Beginner King grade,
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtType: Qi-cultivation system,
Details: In the Mountain and Sea Art, the cultivator uses Qi to have the strength of a mountain in their fist while having the agility of crossing the sea in a single jump.
Users: early to peak Lesser God
Price: 5000 supreme Sacred stones.]
Aakesh had gotten used to seeing the art every time he took one out, so he immediately went to the price section.
"The price is as expensive as expected," Aakesh muttered when he saw '5000 supreme Sacred stones' in the price section.
The art was for Lesser God cultivators, not even one of the better ones there, and yet it cost so much.
Only those Lesser Gods who came from upper-mid-tier races or higher could afford to purchase at that price. Considering that, Aakesh believed that the difficulty of the cultivation art's quest had only grown after the activation of the King grade.
Aakesh still didn't complain since the system always charged a fair price for its products, and didn't cheat the customers.
Aakesh then put the art back in the bottom row and turned around to leave.
"Let's go!"
As they came out of the room, Aakesh commented, and the next moment, a white light covered the three of them, and soon after, they disappeared from the store.
Lily and Khaval went to their respective training, while Aakesh also went to his usual battle training.
Aakesh got a mace as his weapon for the day, while his opponent was a magical attack user, with weak physical attributes. The initial rounds were over soon since Aakesh didn't even need to use the usual strength he had in past battles.
But as time passed and the number of battles grew, the effort put in by Aakesh also grew. In the two hundredth round, Aakesh usually won after a battle of a few rounds, but not that one. It went for several rounds as the magical capacity of the opponent was troublesome, and without using any skills, it was difficult to break the magical barrier.
The battle was only slightly longer and not much more challenging, so the results stayed the same, and Aakesh kept winning. Finally, in the 238th round, Aakesh lost after fighting a hard battle.
After his death, Aakesh reappeared in the selection area. The next moment, a smile erupted on his face as he saw Lily and Khaval there waiting for him.
Aakesh's chair was already there, so he went there and sat down on it. After that, the traditional conversation between the three of them.
It started with Aakesh sharing his experience in the store for the day. After that, it was Khaval and finally Lily in the end.
Lily continued longer than Aakesh and Khaval combined because she was in the middle of a battle in Panagea.
Since Lily had refused Aakesh's help years ago due to a tragic event in her territory, Lily didn't ask for Aakesh's opinion, and neither did he offer any. He just silently listened to what Lily had to say.
After Lily concluded her share, the conversation between the three ended. The next moment, a white light covered the three of them, and soon they had disappeared from the selection area.
The next moment, they appeared in the store's hall. Not long after, the door of the room appeared in mid-air in the store. The steps connecting the room to the hard stone floor emerged soon after.
Lily and Khaval then climbed up the steps after saying their goodbyes to Aakesh. Aakesh stood there, looking at them leave with a gentle smile on his face.
Thud!
After Lily and Khaval entered the room, the doors automatically closed down, and soon after, the room's entrance and the steps vanished, waiting for Aakesh to summon them back.
The gentle smile on Aakesh's face disappeared and was replaced by his usual indifferent expression. He then turned around and walked toward the portal room.
When he entered the room, his eyes fell on the two leaderboards as had become his habit. After seeing that there was no change, Aakesh moved his eyes away and went toward the closest virtual portal.
As the tips of his right middle finger touched the portal, a suction force stronger than anything he could fight against appeared and sucked him inside. The next moment, the countless shiny dots that looked like stars in the sky turned gray, while Aakesh found himself at the same spot he had exited Panagea on the day before.
In front of Aakesh, a silhouette of a large city could be seen, and he rushed in that direction.
The city seemed close, but it was tens of thousands of miles away. It was just that the area around it was devoid of anything, so it could be seen so far away.
"Please help us, senior!"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAakesh was traveling when he suddenly heard a plea for help coming from another direction. Aakesh turned in that direction and saw a group of bandits surrounding a caravan of ten people around a hundred miles away from him.
Aakesh was going to ignore the plea and continue on his journey when suddenly he felt a projectile coming toward him at a dangerous speed.
Aakesh's eyes turned cold since the bandits were the source of the arrow. The bandits must have decided to loot Aakesh as well, unaware of the tragedy they had brought on themselves.
Aakesh didn't move away from the arrow coming at his heart, but he took his bow out of the space ring.
Aakesh aimed the bow at the shot and then released the string and the emerging arrow once the bowstring had touched his ears.
The arrow flew, tearing through the air.
It passed through the upcoming arrow as if it were a piece of paper. The shot didn't stop there; it kept flying toward the enemy.
It covered the distance of 100 miles instantly, and soon it had pierced through the bandit archer's heart. Aakesh then took a few more shots, and soon everyone in the bandit group was dead.
The man who had asked for Aakesh's help was frightened and his face was drained of blood when he saw the instant massacre around him. He thought it was his number next, but fortunately for him, the great archer ignored them and continued his journey.
The bunch in the caravan seemed to lose all their energy and crashed to the ground, breathing sighs of relief.
***
Aakesh gained only a tiny amount of XP from the several kills, as only one bandit had a higher level than him, while all the others were low level.
Aakesh then continued toward the city, and as he approached it closer, the shadow of the city became bigger.
Aakesh came across many scenes of looting, and those who tried to loot him faced the same fate as the previous group of bandits. Aakesh could see the guards patrolling around the area, but they completely ignored the scenes around them as if they were patrolling for something else.
