Chapter 357 – Disbelief
Chapter 357: Disbelief
Sarbal, unlike the majority of the Dwarves, loved not only smithing, but he also loved fighting, despite the members of his race mostly being cowardly.
A few hours earlier,
Sarbal was traveling in the search of rare materials to make a weapon. Since the world, they lived in was only peaceful inside big cities.
Outside those cities, there were several areas where cruelty was supreme. The people were as cruel as they could be. Murders, rapes, pillages for treasures were a pretty common occurrence in such locations.
In his journey, Sarbal also had to pass through one such location. As he continued, he came across one such battle between two cultivators.
At first, he was going to ignore the battle and continue on his way, but the moment his eyes fell on the sword used by the female cultivator in the battle.
Despite being far away from the battle and the sword, Sarbal could see the level of craftsmanship used in its making. Even he, who was one of the most talented when it comes to smithing, felt envy seeing the sword.
He right away made a plan to help the lady in the battle, and then ask for the sword in payment for his help.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThinking like this, Sarbal made his move.
He disappeared from the spot he was standing on and appeared right above the man, the other combatant.
Dwarves are known for having an unbelievable amount of strength, so he didn't even take out his weapon, and punched the man.
Both the combatants were taken aback by the sudden arrival of a Dwarf in the battle.
Before they could understand what had happened, Sarbal's punch landed on the head of the man.
In response, the head burst like a watermelon. Blood and brain matter spread across the ground.
Some drops of blood also flew toward Sarbal, but he burnt all of it. In the end, he stayed clean.
Instead of feeling relieved, the woman turned even more fearful when she witnessed the death of her opponent in a single punch.
She had been fighting the battle with the man for the last several minutes and still wasn't able to overpower the man. The only reason she was even equal to the man was due to her sword. It helped her fight on a similar ground against someone two minor levels above her.
The Dwarf, on the other hand, only killed the man in a single punch, so how could she not get afraid of what's to come next if the Dwarf wanted to kill her.
Sarbal, who had lived for hundreds of years, could see what was going through the lady's mind, so he told her, "Don't worry. I won't kill you."
Before the woman could heave a sigh of relief, hearing Sarbal, he further added, "Since I helped you, you need to pay for it. Let's not discuss much. I would gladly take the sword you have."
The woman's face turned dumbfounded for a moment, hearing the Dwarf asking for the payment for the help she never asked. But, in the end, her face had turned grave when he asked for her sword.
She had bought this sword with her life savings. How could she give it to anyone?
"Senior, I can't give you the sword," The woman told the Dwarf, gritting her teeth, after staying silent for some time.
"Why? Is your life not worth the sword?" Sarbal asked, hearing the woman's response.
In her mind, he had expected the woman to give her the sword right away, after he asked for it, as he had saved her, but in reality, she refused.
The woman, on the other hand, turned pale hearing the question. She thought that the Dwarf was threatening her for the sword.
She got ready in the fighting posture right away, as giving up her sword in these areas was nothing less than suicide. Even though she would most probably die if she fought with the Dwarf, she still was ready as a simple murder was the best thing that could happen to her without a weapon to fight back.
Sarbal got confused, seeing the woman getting alert and ready to fight. Only then did he understand that the woman had misunderstood his question as a threat.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEven though he loved fighting, it didn't mean that he would fight anyone. The same was the case here. It would only take him a punch to kill her, as the woman was only a Void Condensation level cultivator.
For a moment, the idea of getting the sword after killing the woman rose in his head, but he decided against it as it would be no different action than the criminals here.
"You misunderstood me. I won't kill you for the sword. How about you exchange your sword for this one?" Sarbal asked as he took out a sword he had personally made to exchange for it.
Even Sarbal, the creator of the sword, knew the exchange was equal in no terms.
"Senior, if you want this sword, I can tell you from where I bought it," The woman nervously told the Dwarf after his exchange offer.
She would be stupid if she were to change her sword with the sword the Dwarf had taken out.
"Hmph! How can there be other swords of such quality in the store?" Sarbal scoffed, hearing the woman.
He didn't believe that any store would sell such qualities of weapons, as even he felt tiny in comparison to the skill level of the sword's creator. He thought that the woman was lying about the store selling it.
A wry smile appeared on the woman's face, hearing the Dwarf. Remembering the quality of swords she had to let go due to constraints in her savings, she couldn't help but feel a pang in her heart.
"Senior, the store has even better quality swords or other weapons than this one. It's one of the cheapest swords in the Legendary-grade weapon…," The woman told the Dwarf. She didn't stop but further told him about the details of a few swords she had let go in the store.
Sarbal had a look of disbelief, hearing the woman. How can a store sell weapons even better than this sword?
***
Believing in the woman, Sarbal had come here.. Seeing the talent and affinity the store owner had, he believed the woman without even checking up the weapons himself.
