Chapter 980: Interest Rates!
Aakesh then announced the rules to Bistrid.
Since the store didn't need weapons put on by the customers, there was a policy of the customers taking them back after paying the amount.
The interest rate for the loan amount was fixed at one lesser Sacred stone per day, irrespective of the amount borrowed by the customer.
The customer could only borrow the amount as store credit and could only spend it in the store.
The customer would have to set a fixed timeline for returning the amount. If the customer failed to follow the timeline, the store would permanently block him. The blocking wouldn't come easy, as the store would first have to retrieve its debt, and it could be a torturous task for many if they wouldn't have the required wealth.
"So, what item do you want to pawn in the store?" Since Aakesh informed Bistrid of all the rules, he decided to begin the transaction.
Bistrid nodded and then took out a sword from his inner world. It had a few cracks on it, but the dried blood on it leaked a terrifying aura.
Aakesh grabbed the sword, and the next moment, all the details about it appeared in his mind. The system being the informant.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"You can get a maximum sum of twenty-seven thousand, five hundred nineteen higher Sacred stones, eight thousand four hundred eight ordinary Sacred stones, and six hundred seventy-two lesser Sacred stones," Aakesh announced the amount Bistrid could borrow after putting the sword.
Bistrid nodded since the number was closer to what he had expected after the store owner informed him about the borrowing being only eighty percent of the price of the item.
"How much do you want to borrow?" Aakesh then asked after Bistrid was satisfied with the price.
"Twenty-five thousand higher Sacred stones," Bistrid answered immediately. He needed around twenty thousand stones, but since the borrowing limit was higher, he borrowed extra for emergencies.
"What do you want to be the tenure of your debt?" Aakesh asked, leaving the tenure completely up to the customer.
"Can I set it to anything?" Bistrid asked, clearly surprised by Aakesh.
If he could select any term, wouldn't that mean he wouldn't have to worry about paying if he set the tenure at hundreds of billions of years?
"Yes, you can even set the tenure as one nanosecond, or you can even set it as a trillion years, but keep in mind that you will have to pay the debt before the end of the tenure."
"The longer you set the tenure, the higher the interest earned by the store, and similarly, the punishment of failure would be high as well." Aakesh understood what was going through Bistrid's head, so he stated the warning.
Bistrid stopped the wild thoughts in his head and pondered over the tenure he wanted to set. The amount wasn't so small that he could set the timeline to be a few months or years, but it also wasn't so big that he would want the tenure to be several centuries or millennials.
"Let's set it at twenty-five years," Bistrid answered after thinking about it.
"Your interest rate would be 9000 lesser Sacred stones," Aakesh informed.
(1 year= 360 Days.)
"You could pay the interest daily, weekly, monthly, annually, or all of it at once, using your store card," Aakesh further added.
"Are you ready to sign the contract?" Aakesh asked, and out of nowhere, a page made of some strange material emerged in his hands.
Bistrid nodded, and the next moment, characters began to appear on the page, and soon, the entire contract was printed. Aakesh pushed it toward Bistrid while the sword in his hands disappeared into the system's space.
Bistrid read the entire contract, and after finding nothing wrong with it, he signed it using a drop of his blood.
The next moment, the contract exploded into light particles as it melted into the store card he had bought.
As soon as the process ended, an alert rang inside Bistrid's head, informing him of the transfer of twenty-five thousand higher Sacred stones.
Even though Bistrid had lost his emotions after the tragic event in the past, he still couldn't stop himself from getting excited after finding that he could buy the Gray Ettin.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSince Bistrid now had the complete payment, he pushed the card toward Aakesh and asked him to initiate the taming battle.
Having money was only the first step, so Bistrid's face turned calm as he prepared himself for the next phase.
Aakesh took the card from Bistrid's hands and then tapped on the pattern at the back. After doing it, he handed the card to Bistrid.
After getting the card, Bistrid suddenly found his surroundings changing, and the next moment, he found himself in a grassland with a creature similar to what he saw on the card in front of him.
As the Gray Ettin's two heads had their own personalities, one of them was friendly and called out to Bistrid, while the other cruelly roared at him.
Bistrid's strength had reduced to early Divine Lord to match the creature, so he didn't take it easy, and took the initiative.
The friendly head seemed to have become shocked by Bistrid's unruly behavior as it opened its mouth and screamed profanities in its language. Fortunately for Bistrid, he didn't know Ettin's native tongue.
The battle between the two seemed to have begun as each of them came to blows. Bistrid seemed to dismiss the idea that Wheat-Spotted Demons were weak in frontal combat as his fist battled the Ettin.
The battle took a gory turn in no time, as blood seemed to flow like it was nothing from the numerous injuries on both sides.
Time flew by, and the battle continued. There was no point of time in the area, so none of them knew how long they had been fighting for, but since neither of them wanted to lose, they persisted.
None of the two sides now had sufficient energy to release any skill, so they fought with simple combat, their will to win pushing them forward.
More time flew by, and finally, the Ettin crashed to the ground. Bistrid's shape was no better, but he gritted his teeth and didn't let him fall, using his hands as his support.
