Chapter 115

“Why leave so soon? You barely just got here! Nicolas is right. It’s not safe to drive in this cold weather. Why

don’t we just go in and warm up?” Ivan cout of nowhere and smiled.

“When did you arrive?” Owen asked with a frown.

“I've been here for a long time. You have to thank me. If it weren't for me, I'm afraid you would have to wait in

this world of ice and snow for a long time.” Ivan smiled casually. “Hurry up and thank me.”

Owen understood. Seeing that Ivan was up to no good this time, he said, “I'll transfer the money to you.”

Thank Ivan? Impossible.

“Mr. Gibbs, what are you doing at my door in the middle of the night?” Nicolas did not understand.

Ivan was about to speak when Casey ran out from behind and shouted, “Dad!”

When Ivan saw Casey, a silly smile appeared on his handsface.

Casey glared at Ivan and said, “Dad, the more they delay, the more they can’t go back. Let them go before it's

too late.”

Nicolas frowned. “You can stay at our house if you can’t go back. It's not like our house can’t accommodate you.

There’s no reason to chase the guests away.”

“Uncle, you are right. Thank you for your hospitality.” Ivan smiled.

“What uncle? Who's your uncle?” Casey snapped.

Ivan blinked. “I'm addressing you as my buddy. Since | can’t call you uncle, what should I call you? Do you want

Nicolas quickly waved his hand. “No, no, no.”

Casey blushed. “What nonsense are you spouting?”

“I'm telling the truth.” Ivan touched his nose innocently.

“Alright, alright. What are you standing here for? It's so cold. Let's go in quickly.” Nicolas’s ears were red from the

cold.

Hailey looked at Owen's thin clothes and felt a little heartache.

Since he had already been seen, there was nothing to be shy about. He would have to meet her parents in the

future.

Owen smiled and raised his hand. He rubbed the top of Hailey’s head and said politely, “Thank you, Nicolas.”

Nicolas waved his hand, and everyone entered the residence.

The air conditioner was turned on, and it was very warm inside. However, Hailey was afraid that he would be

cold, so she went upstairs and took two blankets. One was for Owen, and the other was for Ivan.

Then, she took a few cups of hot water and handed them over.

After drinking a cup of hot water, Owen was no longer cold.

Nicolas brought the wine over. “When men finally gather like this, how can we not drink? This is my prized

vintage, saved for years, untouched. You're in for a treat today.”

But of course, drinking was never the real point.

As the saying goes, “In wine, there's truth.”

Nicolas wanted to take this opportunity to ask if Owen was sincere to Hailey.

If Owen were half-hearted, Nicolas would definitely beat him up with a broom!

Nicolas had thought it through very well, but he had overestimated his alcohol tolerance.

When the three men drank, there was naturally no lack of side dishes. Casey and Hailey went to the kitchen to

help Stephanie. In a short while, they made three side dishes.

Stephanie hated Nicolas drinking the most, but there were outsiders present today, so she didn’t say anything,

It was just that the sound of things being placed was inexplicably shocking.

Nicolas quickly winked at Hailey and Casey.

The two girls pulled Stephanie into the house to talk.

The drinking outside was in full swing.

Owen was more honest. He would drink with anyone who offered him a toast. Fortunately, he could hold his

liquor well and drank the most. He was the most sober.

In the end, both men lay down. Owen got up and walked toward the room.

Hailey and Casey were about to fall asleep from chatting with Stephanie. Stephanie had already fallen asleep,

and Casey was yawning non-stop.

Owen walked to the door and knocked.

Hailey had just opened the door when she smelled the overwhelming smell of alcohol on Owen's body.

“How much did you guys drink?” Hailey asked in a low voice. “You have a weak stomach, yet you still drank so

much.”

The drunk man was unexpectedly obedient. “I didn’t drink much. The two of them are already drunk. I'm not

drunk yet.”

“Okay, okay, okay. You're not drunk. Let's go to our room to rest.” Hailey helped him to the guest room.

Casey found two blankets and covered Ivan and Nicolas respectively.

However, just as she was done covering Ivan, Casey's wrist was grabbed by Ivan.

Ivan was a man who knew his way around a drinking session-his tolerance naturally outmatched Nicolas. Though

admittedly lightheaded, he was still faring far better than Nicolas, who was already snoring away beside him.

Casey was pulled into his arms.

“What are you doing?” Casey was furious. Ivan grabbed her waist, and she could not move.

The girl's jasmine-like body fragrance made Ivan’s heart race.

However, he knew very well that Casey was a very conservative girl. If he wanted to do anything, he'd be dead

to her forever.

Therefore, even though he had drunk alcohol, he did not dare to be too bold. He only hugged her obediently.

Even so, Casey's face turned red.

Chapter 115

Ivan placed his head on Casey’s shoulder. His hot breath sprayed on Casey's neck. Soon, Casey could not take it

anymore.

Nicolas was sleeping beside them. One blink of his eyes, and he'd catch them in that compromising position.

Way too risky.

Casey struggled for a moment and whispered, “Let go ofquickly.”

“Casey,” Ivan whispered in her car.

His gentle and magnetic voice inexplicably made Casey's heart skip a beat.

She stopped struggling and waited for him to say something else.

“I've been chasing you for so long. Can’t you givea chance?” Ivan’s voice was aggrieved, and Casey's heart

softened.

Yet her words remained sharp. “How am | supposed to trust a playboy like you?”

“I haven't been to a bar in a long time. If you don’t believe me, you can install a tracker on my phone in the

future. This way, you'll know where I'll go in the future.”

For Ivan, that notoriously proud soul, to stoop to this? It was nothing short of a miracle.

However, most girls were not confident, so like most girls, Casey asked a very old-fashioned question, “What do

you like about me?”

Ivan asked, “Do you remember the first twe met?”

Casey nodded. “At the bar.”

“That tat the bar was the first tyou met me, but | actually noticed you a long tago,” Ivan said

calmly, “it should have been at your 16th birthday party. | went there that day. You were wearing a white dress.

You were very beautiful, and your expression was cold. You looked like an unattainable young lady, but | realized

that the originally cold young lady was actually gentle and cute.

“You're just not good at talking to people, so you look cold. Compared to interacting with people, you prefer

small animals. | saw with my own eyes that day, after your birthday ended, you packed up the unfinished food

and distributed it to the stray dogs and cats at the entrance of the alley. Casey. From then on, | remembered

you.”
