Chapter 28: He’s Back! Part 2
All the aunt ghosts cried out: “Dance comes from life; dance comes from inside me, and it is the most beautiful, just like the setting sun!”
———
The roar of a dozen ghost aunts must not be underestimated. Their slogan was straightforward, and their voice thunderous, booming like three-dimensional speakers. The racket made Ye Sui feel that something was wrong with her ears, and there was always a lingering humming sound.
‘Chen Shu, Chen Shu, Chen Shu...’ Ye Sui read the talisman mantra and recited the name of Chen Shu over and over again in her heart. She carefully walked through the gap between the aunt ghosts.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAunt ghosts’ enthusiasm for dancing was high, so Ye Sui’s movements were not noticed at all. They devoted themselves to their practice. When Ye Sui’s hand touched Chen Shu’s door, she almost jumped up and sang a song about serfs turning over to be masters.
Ye Sui hurriedly entered the room and shut the door. The noisy voices were cut off from the door, and none of them dared to enter the room.
Ye Sui felt sorry for herself and went into Chen Shu’s quilt at the speed of light. The quilt was loose and soft as if there was a smell of fresh sunshine. Chen Shu’s familiar fragrance enveloped Ye Sui’s body entirely.
The room did not have the lights turned on, and only the silver moonlight passed through the window. It, nevertheless, made Ye Sui feel at peace.
Ye Sui was completely retracted into Chen Shu’s quilt, probably because her mind was finally settled down. Her drowsiness gradually kicked in, and her eyelids began to sink.
One second before falling asleep, Ye Sui thought that she must get up early in the morning and restore everything in the house to its original position before Chen Shu came back.
However, Ye Sui was already deep asleep and was unaware that she would be caught in bed by Chen Shu.
The next day, Chen Shu finished his work as soon as possible and immediately got on the plane. Generally speaking, he would arrive at night, but this time, he came back early in the morning, the time abruptly shortened by half. Perhaps Chen Shu had been remembering the fearful voice of Ye Sui last night, so he changed his schedule temporarily.
When Chen Shu returned home, the living room was quiet. Ye Sui’s shoes were still on the porch, and it seemed that she had not gone out yet.
Walking into the living room, Chen Shu found that just in one night, there were a lot more things in the house. All the corners of the house were pasted with yellow symbols. Seeing them, Chen Shu lost his smile. He recalled Ye Sui buying them in the Taoist temple that day.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt seemed that Ye Sui had a tough time last night. It must have taken her a long time just to paste them all over the house. Maybe she was too tired after doing it, so she went to bed rather late.
When passing by Ye Sui’s room, his steps had a slight pause. He lightly strode forward and walked to his room. Before entering the room, Chen Shu immediately felt something amiss.
Unlike before he left, the quilt on the bed was a bit messy. There was a pair of small slippers for women beside the bed, and the quilt had small bumps.
It was quite apparent that Chen Shu, who had only left for one night, had his room occupied by someone. The scene was reflected in Chen Shu’s eyes. He was not angry at Ye Sui, the unexpected guest; instead, he was amused and chuckled at the spectacle.
Chen Shu’s emotions were always hidden, but his eyes had a bright smile. Ye Sui was wholly covered by the quilt, her face buried in the pillow, and her long hair scattered everywhere. Under the black hair, there was a small white neck.
Ye Sui was still deeply asleep, so her breathing was long and smooth. There was no sign of her waking up anytime soon.
After entering the room, Chen Shu took his first step. He approached the bed slowly and finally stopped at a distance of half a meter.
Chen Shu crouched down and held out his hand, opening a corner of the quilt. The next second, Ye Sui’s face was exposed from under the quilt, looking tranquil and peaceful.
