The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?
Chapter 385 382- Battle At The Southern Border: Yang Su Vs Ji Mei (2)Everyone here was a cultivator so they obviously knew how to cultivate, some even approaching the Nascent Soul Realm.
They knew that it was a standard for someone to start cultivating one of the six elements with a cultivation method. Some switch to one of the other elements, for one reason or another, but the consensus was that only one element should be cultivated.
Anyone would tell you it was better to focus on one and deepen your understanding of that element on your path to the Nascent Soul Realm. Here, you'd be able to start comprehending and using the laws of that element, as well as the others.
After reaching a sufficient level in all six you'd be able to transform your Nascent Soul into a Divine Soul and enter the legendary Soul Transformation Realm. Wielding the natural laws of heaven and earth in this realm would be nothing but a thought, you'd be considered a god to lower-level cultivators essentially.
And although it was unheard of, but cultivation legends say someone could use a single elemental law to break through the Nascent Realm to enter the Soul Transformation Realm.
But the main takeaway from this is that comprehension of the other elements should only be done in the Nascent Soul Realm where your soul is strong enough to handle it.
It is unheard of for anyone below the Nascent Realm to cultivate more than one element. And though there indeed might be some that could cultivate about two elements at a time, they would be considered a genius among genius because it was extremely difficult.
But what were these people seeing before their eyes at this moment? Not even two elements, this person was cultivating five at once!!
Either he has a terrifying amount of talent, or his cultivation method was some Heaven Defying treasure. It wasn't like there weren't cultivation methods out there to cultivate more than one element, but without the talent they were useless.
If this youth was able to cultivate five elements not because of his talents, but with the help of a cultivation method, then…need more be said?
Everyone who realized Yang Su was using five elements showed immense greed.
Even Long Feng who was in the crowd was breathing heavily under his veil hat. If he could get this cultivation method, he could give it to the vassal families of his Dragon Clan to cultivate. With their increase in strength, who would dare try to challenge his Ancient Dragon Clan in the future? Even the top Ancient Clans on the Continent would need to be wary of them.
Jun and the others below the stage hearing the discussions didn't show any reaction to this. They knew something like this would happen, and not just for Yang Su, but all of them had something that if discovered would ignite the greed of everyone.
But they had all made the resolve to face anyone who dared tried to challenge them. Else they wouldn't be attending the Chosen Tournament.
"What is senior brother doing?"
Jun asked as he ignored the greedy stares of the crowd.
He realized that Yang Su was only using his spells, but they weren't working against Ji Mei and he was slowly being driven into a corner.
If this situation continued any longer, he was going to lose tragically.
On the stage, Yang Su continued to retreat from Ji Mei's precise sword slashes. Waving his arm, the Wood Qi in the surroundings quivered before coalescing into vines mid-air and whipping towards Ji Mei.
The audience seeing this went into another uproar, this now made it one Deviant Element and five of the six elements that this youth from the Mainland was cultivating!
Some people were barely holding themselves back from charging onto the stage to question whether this was possible because of his natural talent or a heavenly cultivation method.
But despite there being a possibility that there was indeed a heavenly cultivation method, the possibility of it being Yang Su's talent was just as high, or even more so.
Some people in the audience were speculating that if it was truly a heavenly cultivation method why would Yang Su reveal it so openly in front of so many people? Even during the match, Yang Su was put into some situations where he didn't necessarily have to reveal one of his elements. He could just use one or two and no one would know.
On the stage, Yang Su's vines combusted after Ji Mei merely glanced at them. Instead of attacking, Ji Mei paused to say.
"I have to admit your talent to manipulate the six elements is terrifying. Even if one has a heavenly cultivation method to cultivate six elements at once, to cultivate them where you can instantaneously cast Daoist spells at this age is beyond the realm of possibility."
"So, it's his talent then?"
Someone in the crowd said, after hearing Ji Mei's words.
After Yang Su heard Ji Mei's words, his gaze suddenly turn to the sky. The sky was clear but the Heavenly Calamity lightning in his body suddenly began to quiver.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtUpon sensing this Yang Su's body shook, and he almost burst into tears right then and there.
"I knew it, I knew it, I knew it…"
Yang Su mumbled emotionally.
'I knew you were alive Mater, how can you be dead!'
Lihua and everyone down below saw Yang Su's behavior and wondered what was wrong with him.
Lihua upon seeing Yang Su's actions of looking at the sky, frown a bit and a thoughtful expression played on her face. A couple of seconds later, her face suddenly change drastically as she thought of something. Her gaze then immediately went to the sky.
She sensed nothing, but she was sure of what she just speculated.
With an ugly expression, Lihua growled.
"Yang Su, this reckless fool. Does he want to get himself killed?"
The others heard Lihua's words and were confused. Was it about what Yang Su just did? Why would he be killed?
"Lihua, what do you mean?"
Fei Yin asked.
Lihua was unwilling for anyone to overhear them so she sent them all a sound transmission.
'In order to keep his secrets safe, you know that Faction Leader had made us swear a blood oath. I didn't but I'm already from the Zhi Clan which serves the Li Imperial family. So I'd never betray him, Li Wen is also in the same position.'
Jun, Fei Yin, and Mu Fan specifically nodded. Li Shen had made them swear blood oaths way back then.
'Then do you know the conditions of the blood oath all of you swore was different? For Yang Su, one condition was to never reveal his Dao Foundation to others unless he was forced to or under Li Shen's order. But here he is displaying his ability to use different more than one element, what do you think might happened to him?'
Jun and the others hearing this explanation had their expressions change before they all turned to look at the sky with worry.
Seeing that there was no calamity for breaking a blood oath occurring Jun looked at Lihua and said.
'Thankfully, it looks like senior disciple brother's actions didn't warrant a blood oath calamity. I didn't know senior disciple brother's blood oath had this condition.'
'That's not the issue here you fool!'
Lihua snapped at Jun, who flinched back.
'I'm saying that he did that on purpose. There was no need for him to reveal so many of his elements in this match but he did. I suspect he was trying to see if a calamity would occur.'
'But why would he do that?'
Tai chimed in.
Fei Yin who was in deep thought subbed in for Lihua as he explained.
'The only way for a blood oath to be dispelled is if either party dies. Perhaps...elder brother was using this chance to see if Faction Leader is alive.'
Jun, Tai, Mu Fan, and Li Wen had their hearts shaken.
'The blood oath tribulation never occurred. Then does that mean… Master… he's…'
Jun's eyes turned red and he clenched his fists.
Just when this news was about to sadden the atmosphere, Lihua snorted and said.
'No, you idiot, that's not the case. Yang Su revealing his elements couldn't be considered him revealing his Dao Foundation. If he had said it directly that he has it, instead of creating this ambiguous situation where people are speculating if he has so much talent or is using a heavenly cultivation method, then if Faction Leader was alive everyone here would already be dead.'
Lihua looked at Yang Su's quivering figure on the stage before she continued.
'He's playing with fire. He must have mulled over the words of the blood oath and discovered a way to tip-toe around the border between breaking it and staying true to it. By doing this he must have been able to find a way that almost triggers the heavenly calamity if Faction Leader is alive. From his reaction after looking up at the sky, he must have gotten the answer he was looking for.'
"So, does that mean that Master, he's-he's..."
Tai's lips quivered.
"The Young Master is alive."
Li Wen finished, and immediately, Tai began bawling with tears streaming down his face.
After so long of fearing the worst, this sudden and unprompted news that confirmed Li Shen was alive made Tai so emotional he broke down crying without caring about where he was.
But Lihua, as well as the others, were feeling just as emotional as well.
On the stage, Ji Mei saw Yang Su's behavior and heard his mumbles, she frowned and asked.
"What's wrong with you, what do you know?"
Ji Mie's words snapped Yang Su out of his emotional state and he took a deep breath to regain his composure.
"I've done two things by revealing my elements. The first one is a secret, but the second allowed me to figure out the true nature of your ability."
Ji Mei was still expressionless, but a slight frown was perceptible between her brows if one looked closer.
Seeing that Ji Mei wasn't saying anything, Yang Su smirked behind his veil and said.
"What, you don't believe? I even figured out the limitations of your ability as well, it took a while but I did it eventually."
"That's not possible, even for Soul Transformation Realm existences it would be difficult to see through my ability."
Ji Mei finally said, and by now the frown was clearly visible on her face.
Yang Su's smirk became wider.
"You hid your intentions well by using the rubble to attack me, but why is it that you chose to dispel all my spells except for my earth pillar a moment ago? I ask myself what was so different from that spell than the others and I came to one conclusion. All the others spells were created purely from Qi while the pillar was from the stage."
Yang Su's foot tapped the stage.
"Your eyes, it's unable to destroy spells that uses physical objects. At the very least it takes up too much energy so you avoid doing it."
Ji Mei was silent throughout Yang Su's explanation, but then he said one simple word.
"Space."
It was only one word, but it actually caused Ji Mei to widen her eyes slightly. She, however, regain her calm, though the audience watching her closely did not miss her reaction to Yang Su's one word.
"Space? What does he mean? Why did Goddess Ji Mei react like that, did he really figure out what her ability was in such a short amount of time?"
Everyone here was a cultivator, so despite the loud cheering in the battle arena, they could easily make out what was being said on the stage, and they clearly heard Yang Su's words.
"You're the first to figure out my ability, I must applaud you. However, the outcome of the match won't make a difference. But before I defeat you, I want to know one thing. How did you figure it out?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYang Su glanced at Ji Mei who in his eyes was being way too overconfident. Likely due to the fact that she was always on top up until now.
Yang Su didn't answer her immediately and instead flipped over his palm. A familiar wooden sword then appeared in his hand.
Taking a step forward Yang Su said.
"That question is quite easy to answer. I figure it out because-"
All of a sudden Yang Su's figure vanished from in front of Ji Mei.
Ji Mei upon seeing this had her pupils constrict to pin-size needles.
"-you're not the only one who can manipulate space."
Yang Su's words drifted into Ji Mei's ears from the side, after which it was accompanied by Yang Su's wooden sword stabbing through the air.
Ji Mei was slightly caught off guard and was a little late to react.
Yang Su's sword seemed unstoppable as it headed for Ji Mei's left shoulder as if to pay her back for her attack previously.
The supporters of Ji Mei seeing this had their hearts jump at this sudden reversal.
However, just when Yang Su's sword was about to pierce Ji Mei's shoulder, Yang Su abruptly turned around and block a beam of white light that was about to leave a hole in the back of his head.
Everyone seeing this had their expression change, and they all turned to look in the direction where this attack came from.
However, everyone was momentarily dumbfounded upon seeing who, or rather, what had made this attack.
SCREECH!!
The giant bird that silently appeared above the battle arena released a terrifying cry before it began charging towards Yang Su and Ji Mei.
"That's-!??"
A Borderner stood up abruptly upon seeing this bird. He and the other Borderners in that battle arena had their expressions turn grim.
Yang Su seeing this thing charging towards him narrowed his eyes. He then reached up with his hand and grasped towards the bird.
A massive hand made of wind that was twice as large as the nearly thirty-meter bird appeared and caught it.
SCREECH!!!
It began releasing a bloodcurdling cry filled with fear.
With a squeeze of Yang Su's hand, everyone watched as the struggling bird was crushed to death in an instant. Its body was then torn apart by the winds from the palm leaving nothing but a mist of blood to scatter in the sky above the stage.
Silence reigned over the battle arena before every Borderner suddenly stood and flew into the air in one fluid motion.
"What's happening, what was that just now?"
Tai asked as he whipped his tear-stained cheeks.
Lihua with a frown on her face flew into the air as well.
The others followed her and soon they were among the Borderners in the air watching the scene on the horizon where the second wall was.
No, could it even be said to be a horizon anymore? The whole sky was pitch black due to the thousands of flying beasts in the sky.
The invasion of the Sea Beasts had arrived.
