The Alpha Bond 108 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Hundred and Eight-1 By the twe pulled into the small hotel parking lot, the tension that had hung heavy over us since the battle in the cave finally began to ease. The neon sign flickered overhead, casting a soft, buzzing glow as we climbed out of the car. I glanced toward Austin. relieved to see that his wound had stopped bleeding. As werewolvese healed quickly-hut seeing him hurt still left a hollow arhe in my chest.
"Alright, tough guy," I said, looping my arm around his waist to help him inside. "Let's get you cleaned up before you start showing off your battle scars." Austin smirked, leaning againstmore than he needed to. "I mean if you wanted an excuse to get your hands on me, you didn't have to wait forto get injured." I rolled my eyes. "Really? You're injured and still flirting?" "I'm a multi-tasker," he shot back, flashing that trademark mischievous grin.
Alex snorted from behind us. "Yeah, multi-tasking at being a pain in the ass." We reached the room, and Isaiah unlocked the door, pushing it open. It was a modest place-two queen beds, a small table by the window, and a flat-screen TV mounted crookedly on the wall. Not exactly luxurious, but it was comfortable enough for a short stay while we recovered.
Lguided Austin to the edge of the bed and knelt in front of him, grabbing the first aid kit we'd brought along. His shirt was already shredded where the shadow creature's claws had struck him, and I carefully peeled it away from his skin. The slashes across his chest were still raw and red, but the bleeding had stopped, and the edges of the cuts were already starting to close.
"Damn," Alex said, leaning against the wall. "That thing really did a number on you." Austin puffed out his chest, flexing as he winked at me. "Still the most handstwin, though, right?" I rolled my eyes, openingthe first aid kit. "Hold still," I ordered, kneeling beside him.
Austin grinned, flexing his chest. "You just wanted an excuse to touch me, didn't you?" Without missing a beat, Stormi pressed a little too hard against the wound with a disinfectant wipe.
"Ow!" he yelped, flinching away from her. "Cruella, much?" "Cruella? Seriously?" I said a faint smile tugging at his lips.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAlex burst out laughing while Isaiah shook his head, clearly amused. "You really walked right into that one." "Maybe you shut up and stopped acting like an idiot, this would hurt less," I muttered, a small smile tugging at my lips.
I softened a little, brushing my fingers lightly over the wound. It was already beginning to knit itself back together-by tomorrow, only faint lines would remain, and in two days, there wouldn't be a trace of it. "You'll survive," I murmured.
"Barely," he said tically, falling back on the bed as if I'd drained the life out of him.
"You're such a baby," I said, shaking my head.
"Hey, if I can get extra attention from you, I'll milk this for all it's worth," he replied, peeking up atwith that boyish grin that somehow always managed to melt a bit of my irritation.
1/2 Chapter Hundred and Eight-1 I rolled my eyes again, but the truth was, I was grateful he could stil joke. For a moment back in the cave, when the blood blossomed across his chest, I had felt sheer panic. Losing him any of them was a thought I couldn't bear.
Isaiah, ever the practical one, leaned against the dresser with his arms crossed. "We should probably hold off on the next piece until Austin's fully healed. Two days' rest won't hurt us." We've been pushing hard. Let's regroup, get our strength back." I nodded, glancing down at the two pieces of stone we had collected so far. They sat on the bedside table, rough and ancient, with faint etchings I still couldn't fully decipher.
Alex plopped down on the other bed, stretching his legs out. "So, any brilliant ideas on what these pieces actually are?" I hesitated, my fingers brushing lightly over the cold stone. "I'm not sure..." I admitted. "At first, I thought maybe these pieces were fragments of the Moon Keystone, but..." "But what?" Austin asked, his teasing tone softening into something more serious.
A memory tugged at the edges of my mind-a dream, one that had felt too vivid to simply be a figment of my imagination. The boy with the crystal key. The way it had gleamed like captured moonlight. I remembered the way he had clutched it so tightly, as if it held the weight of the world.
"The key..." I murmured, more to myself than to them.
"What key?" Elijah asked, his gaze sharp as it landed on me.
swallowed hard, meeting their expectant eyes. "I had a vision. There was a boy- he was running through the woods, carrying a key. It wasn't like these stone pieces. It was... pure crystal. Like it was carved from the moon itself." Isaiah's brows furrowed. "And you think that's the Moon Keystone?" "I don't know," I admitted, frustration creeping into my voice. "Maybe these pieces are part of something else another key to unlock the Keystone's location. Or maybe..." "Maybe we're chasing the wrong thing," Elijah finished, his jaw tightening.
Silence stretched between us, the weight of uncertainty settling heavily over the room.
"So, what's the plan?" Alex finally asked. "If these pieces aren't the Keystone, do we keep chasing after them or switch gears?" I exhaled slowly, trying to clear my thoughts. "We keep going," I said firmly. "Even if they aren't the Keystone itself, they're connected. Each clue is leading us somewhere. And if there's any chance it helps us stop the Children of the Eclipse, we have to follow it." They didn't argue. We all knew what was at stake.
Elijahshed off the wall, his expression unreadable. "We'll figure it out. We always.do." I managed a small smile. "Yeah. Together."
Austin let out a tic sigh from the bed. "Great. Another terrifying so ancient mystery to solve. And here I thought we'd be lounging on a beach by now." I laughed softly. "Maybe once we save the world, we can take a vacation." "You promise?" Alex grinned.

"We should cback here after this is over," I said quietly, staring out the window at the faint glow of the city lights. "The mountains are beautiful." Alex smiled, his gaze gentle. "I'd like that." We all sat there in comfortable silence, the weight of the world preling down on our shoulders, but for the first tin days, it didn't feel so unbearable.
Because we weren't carrying it alone.
By the tI finally laid down, the sun was already beginning to rise, casting streaks of orange and pink across the sky.
I clutched Mariah's necklace to my chest, the cold metal grounding me.
"We'll find it," I whispered to myself.
"We have to," I'm sure once we found the remaining pieces all this would make sense And as I drifted into an uneasy sleep, my wolf stirred was counting on us.
And I wasn't ready to let it burn.
