Chapter 41 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Forty One A pit was dug near the edge of the clearing, deep enough to hold the monstrous remains. As the witches of the Umbral Society chanted softly, their wands emitting a faint glow, the bodies were carefully burned. The flames roared to life, bright and fierce, consuming the darkness that had threatened our lives.
I stared at the fire, my mind clouded with guilt and sorrow. I felt Alex's presence beside me, his hand brushing lightly against mine in silent support.
Later that afternoon, the pack gathered again to honor those we had lost. A makeshift funeral was held for Mariah and the five pack members who had fallen during the attack. Eira stood at the front, speaking words of remembrance for each life taken. Her voice, usually commanding and sharp, was soft and full of reverence.

After the ceremony, I lingered near Mariah's grave, there was no body the umbrakins had devouredher it seems, my fingers lightly tracing the freshly turned earth. I was lost in my thoughts when Savannah approached me.
"I'm so sorry, Stormi," Savannah said, her voice gentle.
I turned to look at her "Thank you"., .tears welling in my eyes again. I didn't know you were a witch," I said quietly, my voice tinged with surprise and curiosity.
Savannah offered a small, bittersweet smile. "I'm a hybrid. My mother was a witch, and my father was a werewolf. It's...
complicated." I nodded, processing the revelation. I hadn't known much about Savannah beyond their shared connection to the pack and her being among the few people that were nicetoin school, but there was an odd comfort in learning this about her now.
Without another word, Savannah stepped closer and wrapped her arms aroundin a firm, reassuring hug. "I'm here for you," she whispered, holdingtightly. "You're not alone." My resolve crumbled for a moment, and I let myself lean into Savannah's embrace, the weight of my grief momentarily lifted.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting an orange glow over the pack lands, I stood up from near Mariah's grave. My mates had stood next toin silence.

Alex immediately shook his head. "That's not going to happen." I turned to him, my gaze hardening. "Alex, I need space. I need tto process everything." "And we're going with you," Elijah added firmly, stepping I opened my mouth to argue, but Austin cutoff. "You don't have to face this by yourself. We're staying with you, whether you like it or not." Frustration bubbled within me, but it was quickly replaced by an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I didn't have the energy to fight them. "Fine," I muttered, wiping at my face and taking a deep breath "But I'm going to the cabin. I need to feel close to Mariah one last time." "We'll go with you," Isaiah said, his tone soft but resolute.
1/2 Chapter Forty One The walk to the cabin was quiet. I led the way, my mates following a few paces behind. I could feel their concern radiating through the bond we shared, but I didn't have the strength to acknowledge
When we arrived, the sight of the familiar cabin brought a fresh wave of grief crashing down gnme.Memories of Mariah filled my mind-the way she would greetwith a warm smile, the comforting sound of her laugh, the gentle advice she always offered.
Ignoring my mates, I walked straight to Mariah's room. The air was thick with her scent, a mix of lavender and something uniquely hers. My heart clenched as I stepped inside, my eyes immediately landing on Mariah's favorite sweater draped over the chair by the bed.
I picked it up, clutching it to my chest as tears streamed down my face. I slipped the sweater on, the fabric envelopinglike a hug.
Climbing onto the bed, i pulled the blankets around myself, burying my face in the pillows. Mariah's soent around Es everywhere& spentlike an embrace. For a moment, it felt as though Mariah were still there, holding me, tellingeverything would be okay. Chapter Comments 01 POST COMMENT NOW
