Chapter 47 Chapter Forty Seven We piled into Elijah's Jeep, the air lighter than it had been in weeks As the engine roared to life and we set off down the road, I glanced out the window, my hand resting over my heart, trying to quet my swirling emotions. I knew this quest wasn't just a responsibility-it was a burden. To be honest I was scared, I remembered the fear I first felt in my encounter with the shadow weaver and knew it this was going to be dangerous. But The weight of my people's future, of my mates' safety, all rested on me.

When we pulled into the driveway, the first person I saw was Eira, standing on the porch of the pack house with a knowing smile, Like she was waiting for us. I stepped out of the jeep, and before I could say a word, Eira approached me.

"I knew you'd caround," Eira said warmly, her piercing blue eyes glowing faintly under the sun. "The goddess has chosen well. Your line has always been special." I tilted my head, my brow furrowing in confusion. "What do you mean by that?" Eira's expression softened. "Despite being omegas, your family has always been known for their pure hearts. Purity of heart doesn't mean weakness, Stormi-it makes you strong. It's why the moon goddess entrusted this mission to you. The Shadow Weaver's darkness cannot touch a soul as pure as yours." I glanced down at my hands, unsure how to respond. I wasn't sure if believed Eira's words. Pure? Strong? Those were not the words I'd ever used to describe myself. I'd always been the forgotten one, the outcast.

Elijah joined me, placing a steadying hand on my shoulder. "She's right, Stormi. You're stronger than you think." Eira's smile widened as she turned to the rest. "Now, we have no tto waste. You must leave for our headquarters immediately. It's the only place where you can train and prepare for what's ahead Isaiah, leaning casually against the jeep, folded his arms. "And who's going to protect the pack while we're gone?" "Yes what if those things attack?“, Elijah asked.

One of the witches accompanying Eira stepped forward. She was tall, with auburn hair tied into a sleek braid, and she carried an air of quiet authority. "That will be our responsibility. The society has assigned us to guard your pack while you're away. Your people will be safe under our watch, young Alpha," she said, directing her words at Elijah.

Savanna, who had been standing quietly to the side, finally spoke up. "And I will give my life for the pack if necessary. They won't face another attack withoutstanding in the way." Elijah frowned, his jaw tightening. It. was clear he didn't want to leave his pack vulnerable, despite the reassurances. Before he could say anything, his father, the Alpha, stepped forward, his presence commanding as always.

"Elijah," his father began, his voice steady, "umbrakins have always been known to attack when we are at our weakest-during the full moon when shifting is difficult. But things are changing. Now, they're attacking even when we can fight back. That's why this mission is critical. You and Stormi are the key to stopping this." Elijah's shoulders slumped slightly, before He finally nodded, stepping forward to embrace his father tightly. Elijah swallowed hard, his jaw tightening. "And you're sure the pack will be safe?" "Absolutely," his father said firmly. "We've faced worse odds before. Focus on your mission. We'll handle things here." Elijah nodded, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. He turned to Stormi and the others. "We leave as soon as we're ready. Keep them safe,” Elijah said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I will, son," the Alpha replied.

1/2 Chapter Forty Seven The pack began gathering to see us off. Elijah, Alex, Austin, and Isalh each took a moment to hug their parents, lingering in their embraces as they said their goodbyes. I watched from the sidelines, goodbye to. No family to sendoff with words of encouragement ache forming in my chest. I didn't have anyone to say promises of waiting for my return.

I watched as Elijah's mother cupped his face, whispering words of encouragement, while the twin's father clapped them on the shoulder with a proud grin. And Isaiah received a kiss from his mother on the cheek.

My chest tightened. I tried to push the ache aside, but it clung tolike a shadow.

Eira noticed and approachedquietly, "You don't have to carry th weight alone, you know." I looked at her, surprised. "I'm fine," I lied.

Eira's gaze softened. "You have them now," she said, gesturing to my mates. "Lean on them, Stormi. They're your family, whether you're ready to accept it or not." My mates noticed my hesitation and glanced atwith worry, but gave them a small smile to assure them I was fine.

Elijah turned to me, his expression softening. "Are you ready?" I nodded, squaring my shoulders. "Let's do this."

We piled back into the jeep, While Eira and the others piled in other SUVS. As they drove through winding roads and dense forests, I felt a strange pull in my chest, as if something was calling to me. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the window, allowing the gentle hum of the jeep's engine to soothe my nerves.

"We're doing the right thing," Elijah said softly, breaking the silence I opened my eyes and turned to him. "I know. It's just... a lot to take in." "It is," Isaiah said from the back seat, his voice uncharacteristically serious. "But we'll get through it. Together."

Austin, always the one to lighten the mood, grinned. "Yeah, and if things get too rough we can always make a E run for it."

Alex rolled his eyes. "You do realize you're the least likely to run right?! You'd probably trip over a root and faceplant." We chuckled, the tension in the air easing slightly.
