Chapter 53 2/2 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Fifty-Three The sound of a knock at my door draggedout of sleep. My eyes uttered open, and I groaned, the remnants of a restless nigh making my limbs feel heavier than usual, I turned my head toward the window. It was still dark outside, the faint glow of the magical sconces outside barely illuminating the room. I pulled the blanket tighter over myself, hoping whoever was knocking would give up.
But the knocking persisted, sharp and insistent.
"Stormi," cRowena's voice from the other side of the door.
I groaned again and rolled out of bed, my bare feet meeting the cold stone floor. Stumbling slightly, I shuffled to the door and opened it, squinting against the hallway's brighter light.
Rowena stood there, fully dressed and wide awake, a mischievous grin plastered on her face. Beside her was a woman I hadn't seen before. She was tall and broad-shouldered, dressed in fitted combat gear that seemed tailored for movement. Her buzz-cut and stem expression gave her an air of authority, and her dark eyes surveyedwith the sdisapproval one might reserve for a Jazy soldier.
"Rise and shine, Silver Wolf," Rowena chirped, far too cheery for this ungodly hour.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI blinked at her, barely processing her words. "What tis it?" I asked, my voice hoarse with sleep.
"It's tfor training," Rowena said matter-of-factly, as though the answer should have been obvious.
I leaned against the doorframe, trying to gather my thoughts. "It's still dark outside," I mumbled, gesturing toward the window as if that would excusefrom whatever torture Rowena had planned.
She ignored my protest and stepped aside, givinga clear view of the hallway. My mates were standing there, looking just as groggy as I felt. Elijah leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, his eyes heavy-lidded. Isaiah was upright but stiff, his jaw set in silent resignation. Alex was rubbing at his eyes, his messy hair sticking up in all directions, while Austin-poor Austin-was nodding off where he stood, his head bobbing forward and jerking back up every few seconds.
"You've got to be kidding me," I muttered, staring at their tired faces Rowena smirked. "Oh, I'm not." She motioned toward the woman beside her. "This is Commander Lynne. She'll be leading part of your training." Commander Lynne nodded curtly, her gaze sharp as it swept over me. "You've got a long way to go," she said bluntly. "But I'll whip - you into shape." "Whipinto shape?" I echoed, frowning. "I haven't even had coffee yet." Rowena let out a tic sigh. "No coffee, no tea, no excuses. We have a schedule to keep, Stormi." I whined, turning back toward the room. "At least letchange," I called over my shoulder.
"No need," Rowena said, stoppingin my tracks. "Everything is prepared for you." Nooked down at my mismatched pajamas-a worn-out T-shirt and sweatpants. "Prepared?" Commander Lynne's stern expression didn't falter. "You'll find whatever you need in our training area. No tto waste. Discipline begins now." 1/3 Chapter Fifty-Three I opened my mouth to argue, but Rowena grabbed my wrist and tuggedforward. "Con. Your mates are waiting, and they already look like they'd rather face the Shadow Weaver than me." I glanced back at the hallway, catching Austin's pleading gaze. He mouthed, Help me.
With a resigned sigh, I stepped out of my room, closing the door bend me. Rowena's grip on my wrist was firm as she ledtoward the others, Commander Lynne following close behind..
Elijah pushed off the wall as I approached, his tired gaze softening he lookedover. "Rough morning?" "Is it even morning?" I muttered.
Austin let out a small groan. "If this is what mornings are like here, want to go back to sleep and wake up in the human world." Isaiah gave him a sidelong glance. "You're not the only one." Rowena clapped her hands, silencing their grumbles. "Enough chit-chat. Training starts now. You're all going to need every ounce of strength, speed, and endurance you can muster if you're going to survive what's coming." "And you couldn't have waited until sunrise?" Alex grumbled, yawning loudly.
Rowena's smile turned wicked. "The Shadow Weaver doesn't wait for sunrise, and neither do we. Now move." Commander Lynne stepped forward, her authoritative voice cutting through the air. "Your first task is simple: follow me. Do not stop. Do not fall behind." I exchanged a glance with Elijah, who gavea subtle nod. Lynne took off down the hallway, her pace brisk and unrelenting. And the rest of us scrambled to keep up, our footsteps echoing in the dim corridor leaving Rowena standing there and watching us with a smug look.
As we jogged through the winding halls of the castle, I couldn't help but notice the faint glow of magical runes etched into the walls. They pulsed softly, illuminating our path and casting long shadows behind us. The castle felt alive, its magic thrumming beneath my feet.
"Where exactly are we going?" I panted, my legs already protesting the sudden burst of activity.
"You'll see," Commander Lynne called over her shoulder.
We turned corner after corner, the hallways seeming to stretch endlessly. By the twe reached a spiral staircase, my thighs were burning, and my breath cin short gasps.

When we finally emerged onto an open terrace, I bent over, hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath. The cool night air was a welcrelief, the stars above twinkling in an endless expanse.
Commander Lynne turned to face us, her expression unyielding. "This was just the warm-up. Now, the real work begins." My stomach dropped. If this was just the warm-up, I wasn't sure I wanted to know what the rest of the training would entail.
Rowena clapped her hands again, her enthusiasm grating against my exhaustion. "Welcto your first day of training, everyone! It's going to be a long month." I straightened, wiping sweat from my brow, and looked at my mates. Elijah was composed as always, though a faint sheen of sweat 2/3 Chapter Fifty-Three life forehead.
