Chapter 55 2/2 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Fifty Five-1 The morning sun hadn't even crested the horizon when I stood once again in the cold, biting air of the arena. The vast, circular space stretched out beforelike a personal battleground, and at its center stood Commander Lynne, arms crossed, her sharp eyes surveying us like a hawk sizing up its prey.

I tugged her open-fingered gloves tighter, already dreading the task head. Today's challenge was straightforward-run thirty laps around the enormous arena, followed by a steep uphill climb carrying weighted packs. A task Commander Lynne described as "simple." But I had learned that simple didn't mean easy.

My mates stood beside me, bare-chested and ready, their bodies gleaming with sweat even before the first step. Austin flexed his arms with exaggerated pride, a cocky grin spreading across his face.

"You ready to dominate this track, Stormi?" he teased.

"Dominate? You mean die on it," I shot back, though the corner of my lips tugged upward in a reluctant smile. Alex nudged my shoulder, offering an encouraging smirk. "We've got your back. No one gets left behind." My wolf growled softly, comforted by their presence, but anxiety gnawed at the edges of my determination. I was fast, but endurance? That was a different story.

"Enough chitchat!" Commander Lynne's voice cut through the air like a whip. "Thirty laps. No walking. If I catch you slowing down, you'll double it. And don't even think about stopping." she said before waving her wand making a part of the truck rise up into a hill.

I swallowed thickly, feeling my muscles tense in preparation. "I can do this," I muttered under my breath, trying to psych myself up.

"GO!" The first few laps weren't so bad. I focused on the rhythmic pounding of my feet against the hard-packed dirt, matching my pace to the others. Alex and Austin flankedlike guardians, their effortless strides a frustrating reminder of their superior endurance. Isaiah ran a bit ahead, his focus sharp and unwavering, while Elijah fell back occasionally to check on me.

By lap ten, sweat streamed down my temples, stinging my eyes. My breath cin shallow, ragged bursts, and my legs burned like fire. My mates looked fine- barely winded, their movements smooth and precise.

"You're doing great!" Austin called, giving her a thumbs-up.

I shot him a glare. "Don't-encourage-me," I huffed, trying to fight the rising ache in my lungs.

By lap twenty, my vision blurred, and the edges of my resolve began to fray. Every step was agony. The arena felt endless, and the humiliation of being the weakest link weighed heavier than the air in my chest. My wolf whimpered in my mind, trying to pushforward, but even that primal drive wasn't enough.

When lap twenty-five came, my knees buckled. I stumbled, my palms hitting the ground as a sob of frustration escaped my throat.

"I can't!" iy gasped, tears stinging my eyes. "I can't do it." Commander Lynne was oninstantly, her voice cold and cutting. "Pathetic. Is this how the Silver Wolf leads? "Let's go." Commander Lynne smirked, as if pleased. "Then get moving" Chapter Comments 61 POST COMMENT NOW 2/2 The Omega: Mated To The Four Chapter Fifty Five-2 I forced my feet to move, every step feeling like a war against my own body. Alex fell into step besideagain, his voice soft and encouraging. "That's it. Just keep going. One step at a time." Austin jogged backward, givinga playful wink. "Almost there, Stormi. Prove her wrong." With my mates beside me, I finished the last five laps, collapsing to the ground at the end with a cry of both relief and triumph.

Commander Lynne stood over me, unimpressed but not unkind. "You finished. Next time, you'll do better." I wanted to scream at her, but deep down, the commander's words sparked a new determination. I would do better. Even though omegas were generally weaker wolves I can do it.

Unfortunately, the day wasn't over. After a short water break, we were given weighted packs-massive, heavy burdens strapped tightly to our backs while climbing a steep, winding hill Commanderlynne had made with her wand.

My legs felt like jelly, the burn from the laps still lingering, but I refused to quit. My mates too struggled up the slope, though they stayed close, ready to catchif I fell.

"Think of it as extra cardio!" Austin joked, pretending to sprint ahead.

"I'll shove you down this hill," I muttered, gritting my teeth.

By the twe reached the top, my arms and legs were shaking uncontrollably. I collapsed onto the track, panting like I'd just run a marathon. My mates flopped down beside me, grinning like fools with their bare chests glistening with a sheen and beads of sweat.

"You did good,” Alex said, nudging my shoulder while trying to catch his breath I didn't reply-I was too busy catching my breath.

Dinner that night was quiet, save for the scraping of utensils and animated conversations on other tables. I picked at my food, too sore to care about eating. My mates, on the other hand, devoured their meals like wolves. Boys. Typical. "Eat," Elijah toldgently, pushing a bowl of soup toward me.

I sighed, taking a small sip. My body ached, but my pride burned more. Tomorrow would be better. Tomorrow I'd prove myself.

After dinner, we walked in silence down the hallway toward our rooms. My legs felt heavy, my exhaustion settling deep in my bones. I wanted nothing more than to collapse into bed and sleep for a week.

When we reached my door, Alex stopped and turned toward me, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You did great today." Before I could respond, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "Goodnight, Stormi." My cheeks flushed, and my heart skipped a beat. "Uh... goodnight," I mumbled. Suddenly, Austin stepped forward, grinning cheekily. "Where's my kiss?" "Excuse me?" I blinked.

"I'm serious! Austin said, tapping his cheek. "Alex gets one. I want one too." Before I could argue, ssaiah N.O crossed his arms, givinga pointed look. "Don't leave us out." pointed at Elijah and himself. 1/2 Chapter Fifty Five-2 Elijah smirked faintly. "It's only fair." I groaned, rolling my eyes. "You're all ridiculous." "One kiss," Austin insisted.

Muttering under my breath, I stepped forward and gave Austin a quick peck on the cheek. "Happy?"

"Ecstatic," Austin said with a grin. As I stepped back, Austin slyng an arm amarm around Alex's shoulder. "We should do this every day." Isaiah tilted his head. "My turn." I pinched the bridge of my nose. "I can't believe this." Nevertheless, gave Isaiah his kiss and then turned to Elijah, who simply waited patiently.

"Fine," I said, but before my lips could touch his cheek he turned chook he turned and my lips landed on his lips. "Hey that's not fair", Isaiah said.

44 "Stormi needs to rest Elijah said givinga wink and shoving the others towards their room.

I huffed, but a smile tugged at my lips despite my exhaustion. "Goodnight, idiots." "Goodnight, Stormi," they chorused in unison, their teasing grins softening into something warmer.

Shaking my head, I disappeared into my room, my heart lighter than it had been all day.
