It hurt so much because the attack had cfrom someone used to love.

Despair and hate filled me. My fingers trembled.

Then, suddenly, | asked, “Will you keep going as long as | lep raising the price?”

| snickered. A tear escaped and rolled down my cheek.

Any common sense had left me. | just wanted mutually assured destruction.

| was about to raise my paddle when he suddenly pushed my arm down. His eyes were fixed on my face.

“Please, no more. You can't afford it,” he said, enunciating each word.
