Chapter 1781

With a cup in hand, Nicky walked toward Theo and said in a soft voice, "President Grant, you'll feel better after a

cup of hot tea."

Theo did not say anything. He merely took the cup, drank it, and put it on the table. Then, he said in a hoarse

voice, "Thank you. It's late now. You should rest."

Nicky nodded slightly and walked in my direction. When she saw me, she slowly showeda smile. "Wanda,

President Grant had a bit too much to drink tonight, so | gave him a glass of hot tea."

She explained to me, and | smiled back at her while shaking my head. "You must be tired from today. Head back

to your room and get ssleep. I'll take care of him." "Okay." Nicky did not say anything else and merely gave

Afterward, | moved him away and walked to the dining room. | filled up a big bowl! of water and walked out.

When | placed it down, Theo looked at it in bewilderment. "This much?"

"Once you drink all of this up, you'll no longer be drunk," | said.

"Wifey's always right. I'll drink up.

Theo started drinking the big bowl of water, and after a few minutes, he wiped the water off his lips and looked

much more awake.

| sat across from him with a gloomy face.

He stared back atand asked, "What's the matter? Are you unhappy?"

"A little bit."

Hearing this, Theo got up and walked toward me. He leaned closer and asked, " Tell me. What's the matter?"

| pushed him off, wanting to put sdistance between us. Unexpectedly he got even closer to me. | took a

deep breath. " Didn't you agree that we'd have a celebratory dinner at home? Do you see what's on the table? |

was eating them with Xander and Jerfor quite stime, but the more | ate, the sadder | got." When | was

finishing up my sentences, | could not help but choke up.

hands over my face. I'm sorry, but | was dragged back into the company as soon as | cout. | wanted to

chome, but they..."

"You don't need to explain anything. | get it. But | was just a little sad. Forget the fact that | couldn't walk the red

Theo tilted his head to look at me. He still held my face, but a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. "So

you're jealous."

He leaned over and kissed me. He only reluctantly moved away after a long while.

She's the person in charge, so she should be there. Being in the scompany, we can't always have it both

ways. Am | right?" "I get it, but I'm just feeling sulky." | turned my face away, unable to let go of my emotions.

"You didn't watch the entire broadcast, did you?" he suddenly asked me.

| shook my head. "I watched until the part where the host thanked you and went into the kitchen to prepare the

feast. Jerwas studying the party poppers as well, so he probably didn't finish it too. Why?"

"As | expected." Theo suddenly took out his phone and handed it to me. "I had someone helprecord it. Why

don't you take a look?"

| took it suspiciously and turned on the screen. It was an interview after the film festival.

"President Grant, Director Doyle is your project leader. How does it feel to face such a beautiful woman every

day?"

"Director Doyle is a good partner, but

| have a perfect wife back at home. So, naturally, | don't think too much about these things. I'd like to thank my

wife this taround. | was able to persist this long because of her support."
