Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!
Chapter 655 - Too Precious To Be TaintedChapter 655 - Too Precious To Be Tainted
"Master, do you have to go alone?" A meek and pleading voice echoed in the silence.
Neopolene, the God of wisdom and knowledge, glanced at his disciple who was kneeling outside the door of his room.
Glancing at the window which projected the scene of a child sobbing bitterly, Neo blinked with indifference before he looked away.
His golden eyes fell on the one who served him for eons with much diligence and fervor.
Thick black hair fell forward as Yether, the disciple, was bowing his head before his Master.
He had informed his Master about the ongoing events in the life of the child who God Asmodeus had deemed to be his chosen one.
The last time that Yether had gone to the world created by that God, he had informed his Master about everything, and in response, his Master had decided that it was not yet time to move to the next step.
However, now the time had come for them to make their move yet he was shocked to hear that his Master did not wish to take him along for this task..
Neo had just announced that he would be doing this himself and would not require Yether to assist him any further than this.
This news was enough to make the earnest disciple kneel before his Master, pleading to be brought along on this journey which he knew held great importance in his Master's heart.
Neo sighed when he saw his disciple on the ground before rubbing his forehead.
Though he was annoyed, he did not reprimand him as he was in a good mood today.
"I have another task for you, Yether." He revealed the reason why he had asked his disciple to not follow him.
The disciple was quick to raise his head, letting his neon green eyes finally come into the line of sight of his Master's golden orbs.
Those eyes which were unnaturally glowing were more radiant than ever as they gazed at the one standing in front.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNeo smirked at the enthusiasm and hoped that this eagerness would reflect in the way he did the job that would be assigned to him.
Yether nodded while paying attention to what his Master said before bowing once again.
"Leave it to me, Master. I will not let you down!" He vowed and thumped his chest in promise.
Pleased with his words and deeds, Neo once again turned to the sight outside his window.
The image of the child was displayed who was still sobbing, hiccupping due to her breathlessness.
"Get to work then," Neo ordered and Yether vanished in the next second.
Feeling the presence of his disciple fading away, he decided that it was about time that he left as well.
With a wave of his hand, the God of wisdom and knowledge also disappeared from his realm, high above the skies, and made his way to his destination.

Glancing around, Neo found himself standing in the midst of a crowded town circle.
The hustle and bustle of the place was as though the plague had never taken place.
With so many people around, minding their own business, none of them had noticed that a man had appeared out of thin air and stood among them.
Neo looked down and nodded in approval when he saw what he was wearing.
A thick black robe that was one too many sizes larger than his lithe frame covered his body, making it impossible to discern what the shape of his body was.
The hood of the robe was over his head, covering his entire face from anyone who might turn his way.
Neo had no trouble in seeing through the cloth that acted as a veil over his face thanks to his golden eyes which could see through any substance with ease.
He was still using his true form but had made sure to suppress his powers to their lowest level to not cause any disruptions to this world that might alert his old friend.
He even made it a point to not let anyone see his face as he was indeed an ethereal being and humans seeing his true form would only crumble to dust due to his brilliant radiance.
While he could have used a random human, possessing his body to utilize it for a few moments, Neo disliked letting any other body get close to his soul.
He deemed his consciousness too precious to be tainted by entering a human vessel.
Hence, he had never appeared in this world before and only let Yether or the entity from the past do his bidding while he waited for their report once they were done.
However, this task was one that he wished to accomplish on his own and thus had appeared here today.
His eyes scanned his surroundings and soon he knew where he was supposed to be heading.
His feet moved in a certain direction and in no time he had reached his destination.
None of the people in this area had even looked his way, making it seem that they could not see him at all.
Neo finally reached his destination and his eyes fell on the figure before him.
A child sat in a corner of a dark alley, head buried in her knees as she sobbed silently, worried that her voice could alert someone around her.
Thick and fluffy brown hair was the only thing visible to the God standing at a distance watching this scene.
Earlier, Neo had watched how the town's bully had come and demanded this child to hand over the money she had in her possession.
The girl had been adamant about holding on to what was hers which led her to be beaten up by the boy who was bigger in both age and size.
Her pretty hair was pulled as well during the scuffle but she refused to let the tiny money pouch she held tight in her grip be taken away.
However, the boy was more powerful than her and had brought his minions along.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThus he succeeded in snatching away the one thing she was holding on to with her entire strength.
People had witnessed this scene as it had taken place in broad daylight but no one had stepped forward to help her out.
Instead, they averted their eyes and pulled their children along lest the bully comes after them and torment them.
With her money gone, Hilda, the child who had been robbed, did not even have the strength to fight back to retrieve it.
She had neither bought a loaf of bread to fill her stomach nor had she purchased her ticket for the carriage.
Thus she sat in this secluded corner of the alley and sobbed at the grievances that had been simmering in her heart all along.
Her parents were gone and now the sole hope of returning to the town she called her home had also been snatched away.
Therefore, with much despondency overwhelming her, the little girl cried until she was breathless but the tears showed no sign of stopping any time soon.
Neo had watched everything taking place but made no movement to lend her a hand.
Now, he had appeared in her presence to bring the plan that he had made to fruition.
The child had not yet noticed that someone was watching her and continued to be lost in her distressing wails, mourning everything that she had experienced until now.
Raising his feet, Neo had just taken a step forward when he halted in his ways.
"You sure you want to do this, O God of wisdom~?"
A sarcastic voice echoed from behind but the child did not raise her head because she heard nothing at all.
It was only Neo who was able to hear those words and the voice was one that he recognized with ease.
"Karizen!" Neo hissed before he turned around to face the one who was somewhere he should not be.
Hearing his name being called out, the man wearing an all-black commoner attire smiled in joy as he stepped towards the God in robes.
"Glad to know that you still haven't forgotten about me." The one named Karizen teased Neo once he appeared before him.
Two men stood before the other as they sized the other up but it was clear that while one was pleased the other was annoyed to find him here.
