Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!
Chapter 663 - On A Hilltop Far AwayChapter 663 - On A Hilltop Far Away
When Yvonne's eyes shut with the determination to fall asleep this time, another pair of eyes fluttered open.
In a land far away from the Capital city, Amarthea was a child who had fallen asleep in a dark corner of an unknown alley.
She had just eaten her fill of bread offered by a generous stranger and while she was still looking at them, her eyes had gotten heavy and she could no longer remain awake.
Therefore, even when those men were standing right there, she had fallen asleep before them.
As her eyes now fluttered open with traces of drowsiness still apparent in them, she rubbed her eyes and slowly sat up.
Hilda moved her hands away from her eyes and brought them in front to take a proper look at them.
However, in the next second, her eyes widened before they narrowed.
Her head felt cramped and an uneasy feeling of confusion filled her mind.
One moment she recalled meeting the two strangers, one generous and mysterious, the other, charming and handsome.
The next moment, a whole different memory flashed across her mind.
She could not tell which was true and which one was false.
It was as though she had been in two places at the same time.
However, looking at her grubby little fingers with a light layer of dirt present on them, she was quick to realize that the first scenario was the true one right now.
In the next second, her mind urged her to concentrate on the other scenario as well.
Therefore, paying heed to what her mind was asking of her, Hilda sat in the same place and once again closed her eyes.
The throbbing of her head lessened when she focused on what she had seen earlier and this allowed her to recall what she seemed to have seen in her dreams.
In a matter of seconds, too many visions flashed across her closed eyes.
From the moment she had attained consciousness and the ability to retain memories from her childhood, up to right now.
Every single event flashed across her eyes.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHowever, there seemed to be a few slight differences between what she had experienced in real life and the visions she was seeing right now.
Placing aside this thought, she continued to focus on those visions passing through her mind at a high speed.
They did not stop at the present that she had lived up to now but moved further, showing her events of the future, something that she had not yet experienced.
Everything she saw was so vivid in her mind, making her feel as though she had experienced them first hand.
A frown sat on her face at what she was watching but that soon turned into a brilliant smile at what came next.
The more she watched, the happier she became at the life that was visible in her visions.
The problems she was facing right now were all replaced with joys and care from so many people.
She watched as she grew older in these visions, every day was like a dream come true for her.
She had people who loved her, cared for her, and would do anything just to make sure that the smile on her face never faded away.
As the visions continued, Hilda's brows furrowed at certain moments, indicating that she was upset at the sight of a few incidents.
However, those moments were few and far in between, and at the end, there was always a smile that bloomed on her face.
Days turned to months and months turned to years.
With her eyes still closed, Hilda was now focused on a particular memory which she had now seen.
__
Standing on the highest peak on a hilltop, the wind that surrounded them blew over her face.
A lady with fluffy brown hair held onto the wide-brimmed hat which threatened to fly away at the intensity of the heavy breeze moving past her.
The scene on this hilltop was serene and beautiful as there was fresh green grass and a variety of wildflowers growing everywhere in sight.
However, her attention wasn't on any of these beautiful flowers but on a wide grey stone that had been erected on the ground before her.
Anyone would be able to guess what this was as it was a fairly common tradition followed in their Kingdom.
A headstone that marked the burial site of a person who had died and was buried here was the place that Hilda had come to visit on this bright and beautiful morning.
"Mother~" A jovial and childish voice of a little girl reached her ear which made her turn in its direction.
Hilda's lips curved into a gentle smile when she saw two children waving at her from a short distance.
The little girl who had called out to her hand a crown on her head that had been hewn together with the wildflowers that grew in abundance on this vast yet lonely hilltop.
Besides the little girl was a boy who looked older than her.
He held the little girl's hand and in his other hand was another flower crown that was bigger in size.
Hilda smiled when they reached her position and the young boy gestured to her to bend forward for him.
Complying to his wishes, the moment Hilda lowered her head, the boy placed the flower crown on her head.
A chuckle left Hilda's lips as she patted the young boy's head in return as a gesture of her appreciation for his efforts.
"Mother looks beautiful." He muttered with his blushing cheeks evident for everyone to see.
The little girl beside him giggled when she saw her elder brother's shy appearance and began to tease him.
Watching the scene of the two children bickering among themselves, a sense of serenity and warmth filled her heart.
The two young children had dark and dirty blonde hair but the color of their eyes proved to everyone their true lineage.
Sparkling blue eyes which were similar to their father were seen expressing so many different expressions as the two argued with each other.
"That's enough, children." Hilda stepped in to stop their bickering and like obedient children, they nodded before putting an end to their childish quarrels.
The mother of two then turned around and once again gazed at the headstone buried in the ground with its top portion visible for others to see.
There was an inscription etched over it which revealed to any passerby about the one who was laid at rest in this spot.
"Who is she, Mother?" The young boy questioned when he saw her gazing at the name written over the large stone.
Hilda's lips formed a gentle smile as she looked at her son and once again patted his head.
"The reason why your father loves me so dearly." She whispered a secret that she had kept buried in her heart until now.
The two children tilted their heads at her words because they could not make sense of what she had just said.

She had come here to express her gratitude to the lady who laid here and now that she had completed her task here, she decided that it was time to say goodbye.
Therefore, giving the gravestone one last glance, she smiled at the name on it before turning away.
The little girl had just begun learning how to read so she decided to test how much she had progressed so far.
{Here lays,
Grand Duchess Yvonne Roschester}
She struggled to read what was written on it but could not complete it as her mother had already dragged her along far away from the headstone by now.
Hilda walked with her children and after taking a few steps, she could see two men standing at the foot of the hill.
One was her husband while the other was a close friend and the husband of the woman laid underneath the headstone they had just visited.
Earlier, last week, she had inquired if they would like to come along to visit the grave at the hilltop but gained rejection from both alike.
However, they had come over to pick her and the children up as soon as they were free from their duties.
"Have you fulfilled your desires, my Queen?" One of the men there inquired as he stepped towards them.
King Fritzen Rosenhyde, the present King of this prosperous Kingdom smiled at his wife before picking up his daughter in his arms.
Queen Hilda Rosenhyde smiled back before she gave a nod of greeting to Grand Duke Draco Roschester who had come along with the King to pick them up.
The Grand Duke responded with a curt nod before his eyes shifted to the hilltop one last time before he looked away.
"We shall take our leave now, Uncle." King Fritzen revealed his plans but found no answer from the other man.
However, this was something he had expected and did not mind his absence of attention.
The King, from beginning to the end, did not spare that place a single glance as he escorted his wife and children into their carriage and soon left the place.
The Grand Duke stood still in the same position with his head gazing at the ground before him rather than looking in the direction where his wife was buried.
The men with the Grand Duke sighed as this was a common sight for them to witness for many years now.
The widower who lost his wife shortly after their marriage did not visit his wife's grave at the top of the hill but would only stand here and stare at the ground for a long while before returning to the empty mansion where he once lived with his wife.
