Chapter 1057: "Got it. I'll be there." Hadley pocketed her phone, her face still taut with unease. The hours dragged on, each minute heavy with anticipation.

Finally, the next afternoon arrived. She wrapped up filming early and headed to the hospital, nerves jangling.

She arrived ahead of schedule, only to find Brady already waiting. "Hadley!" He waved from the entrance, a grin spreading across his face.

"Right here!" She nodded and hurried over. Looking at him, she hesitated before asking, "Does your family know about this?" Brady's smile faltered, and he shook his head. "No. This is your private matter. I haven't said a word." Hadley's eyes narrowed. "What if they find out? Will they be okay with it?" "Hadley," Brady said, his tone steady, "I'm my own person. My choices are mine to make. If they disagree, that's their problem-not mine." Hadley still wasn't fully convinced. "Why are you helping me? Back when you had your accident, I didn't...” His family had taken turns begging her to donate her liver to save him, but she'd refused, unmoved by their pleas.

Brady said, his smile fading into something more earnest, "They had no right to ask that of you. I still can't believe they did." His parents, his sister-they had all leaned on Hadley as if she owed them her own health. They had already taken so much from her, yet they demanded more.

Brady's face twisted with guilt, a bitter edge to his voice. "I can't pick my family, Hadley." She studied him, searching for any hint of deceit. His regret seemed genuine, his pain raw.

"Alright, cwith me," she said finally, turning toward the hospital doors.

Inside, Joy's doctor, Josue Duncan, had already coordinated with the lab. They had Joy's sample on file; all they needed was Brady's blood draw.

Stories live now on gvlnovlsHadley didn't fully trust Brady's intentions, but with Joy's future hanging in the balance, she couldn't afford to dismiss him. Even if he had an agenda, she had to take the chance.

Inside the lab, a nurse approached to draw Brady's blood.

"Thank you," he said, pressing a cotton ball over the needle mark. Turning to Hadley, he asked, "When will the results be ready?" "Tomorrow," she replied.

Thanks to Josue pulling sstrings, she'd managed to fast-track the process.

"That's quick." Brady nodded. "Once they're out, givea call." Hadley hesitated, her lips pursed. After a moment, she said, “If—and I mean if—there's a match.....”

"Then we schedule the surgery," Brady finished for her, a smile om tugging at his lips. "you even need to ask? If the match works and we don't go through with it, what would be the point of all this?" Hadley gave a small nod. After a pause, she murmured, "Thank you."

Brady's smile softened. “Hadley...

don't thank me. I don't deserve it.

Everything I have now it all should have ours lowe you more than I can ever repay in this lifetime. I'm not doing this for your gratitude-I'm trying to set things right."

Hadley didn't respond. A storm of m emotions swirled inside her. If he meant what he said then perhaps he wasn't like the rest of his family after all. They were cruel. But maybe-just maybe-Brady had a good heart.
