Chapter 1130: Could Hadley make it through that? Could Joy? Even if she got out on bail, a legal battle was still coming.

Outside the station, Eric couldn't shake the weight in his chest. Thoughts of Hadley and Joy crowded his mind. He drove back to Millland Road but stayed in the car, not going upstairs to Hadley's apartment.

"Eric," his voice was urgent. "Hadley's been rushed to the hospital." Eric jolted upright, rage flashing across his face as veins rose in his forehead. "Got it. I'll meet you there." He tossed the phone aside and sped toward the hospital.

Cristian had arrived first. As Hadley's lawyer, the police had informed him immediately.

"Eric!" Cristian called when he saw Eric arrive.

Startled, Eric sat up straight, unsure if he'd woken her.

But then her hand clutched his arm, fever-hot and trembling.

"I didn't push her," she whispered. "I didn't!" His heart seized. He leaned down and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, gently patting her back.

"I know," he said softly. "I know you didn't push her."

Her eyes opened wide, tears spilling down her cheeks. "You believe me?" "Yes," he said without pause. "I believe you."

Suddenly, she shoved him away with surprising force. “You're lying she shouted, her eyes wild. You never believed me! You're just like the rest.

A liar!" "Hadley?"
