Lila's heart ached. "I'm going to find them." Nicole panicked and grabbed her before she could take another step. After holding everything in for days, her emotions finally broke free.

She pulled Lila into a tight embrace and sobbed uncontrollably.

"Lila, you can't go! If you disappear too, I don't know how I'll go on! It's all my fault, I never should have let Kieran go after Alfredo. This is all my fault!" Tears streamed down her face, her body trembling violently.

Hearing Nicole's choked-up voice, Alfredo spoke gently to comfort her. "Don't cry. As long as we're all together, that's what matters most, right?" The signal on his end was weak, so they didn't talk for long before the call dropped.

After days of heavy sorrow, Nicole finally looked a little relieved. That afternoon, she started making ravioli.

"Both Alfredo and Kieran love my homemade ravioli. If I prepare it now, they can eat it fresh as soon as they get htomorrow afternoon." Lila's mood lifted as well, and she joined in to help.

Even Frances, who hadn't been in the best health lately, seemed to regain a bit of energy.

"How's the family? And the company?" He looked noticeably thinner.

Nicole and Lila exchanged a quick, knowing glance before answering in unison, "Everything's fine."

"Grandpa, just focus on taking care of yourself. With Uncle Alfredo and om Kieran handling the company, what's there to worry about?" Lila said, abandoning the ravioli-making to massage his shoulders instead.

"I'm old. Whether I go sooner or later, it's inevitable. Don't worry about me." Frances gave a light cough. "Call the the whole family back soon. At my age, I just want to see everyone together again." Lila's hands stilled for a moment. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something about his words felt off. Still, she smiled and said, "Alright. Tomorrow afternoon, once everyone's home, we'll have a proper family dinner together." Hearing that, Frances nodded. He didn't stay long and soon returned to his room to rest.

Lila thought for a moment, then sent messages to Jasmine and Bryce, telling them to cback.

Noah was busy with a tournament, but she reached out to him anyway.

The next afternoon, Lila personally went to the airport to pick up Kieran and Alfredo Kieran's injured arm made it difficult for him to push redo's wheelchair. A sharp pang clenched at Lila's chest, but she quickly swallowed it down and hurried toward them.
