Chapter 446 - Not Giving Her Any ChanceChapter 446: Not Giving Her Any Chance
“Lin Fuxi. Why? What’s wrong?” Tan Mo asked in a low voice.
“Nothing… It’s just a little weird,” Qin Muye whispered. “When she walked past us, she kept looking our way. It was like she has a weird expression on her face.”
Tan Mo couldn’t help but turn to glance at her best friend.
Knowing how unaware Qin Muye could be when it came to such a matter, Tan Mo knew that there was no point in explaining to her.
She let out a sigh and turned to Ming Yeqing. “Qing, who would’ve thought that something like this would happen? It looks like there are quite some beautiful ladies interested in you, huh?”
The moment Tan Mo said that Qin Muye immediately turned to look at Ming Yeqing.
Qin Muye spent most of her time with Ming Yeqing, which in turn meant that Ming Yeqing also spent most of his spare time around Qin Muye.
Even though they were that close, Qin Muye had no idea that there were ladies out there who were interested in Ming Yeqing.
The reason she never thought of the possibility was that Ming Yeqing never had the time to get acquainted with other ladies. Other than spending his time with Qin Muye and Tan Mo, Ming Yeqing would always either be at the research room or his dorm. He would also head back home during the weekends.
Yet, when Qin Muye thought about it, it did make sense.
Ming Yeqing was so handsome that it was as if he was a male idol from a K-pop group.
He was also kind and incredibly smart.
Ming Yeqing was definitely the type of man who would attract a lot of young ladies’ attention.
“Since your classmates are all older than you, it’s most likely that they don’t think of you like that. But, what about the freshmen? I’m pretty sure there are a lot of them drooling over you,” Tan Mo jokingly said.
Ming Yeqing gave Tan Mo an angry stare as they walked toward the gate and pretended not to know anything. “Really? I don’t think I’ve noticed it. The only girls that I’m in contact with are you two. I even rarely talk to the girls in my class because we take different courses.”

Ming Yeqing smiled and nodded. “I see. I’ll take care of it.”
“And how will you take care of it?” Tan Mo asked with a smile as well.
“I’m not going to give her any chances,” Ming Yeqing replied with a serious expression.
In front of Tan Mo and Qin Muye, Ming Yeqing always had a smile on his face. It was as if he was a kind and happy person—a perfect jade that was perfectly carved.
However, now that the smile on his face was gone, all one could see on him was the coldness in his eyes. It was as if they were made out of ice.
It even made Tan Mo and Qin Muye shiver when they saw his expression.
The smile soon returned to Ming Yeqing’s face. It was as if the coldness on his face a moment ago was just an illusion.
Ming Yeqing couldn’t help but find the situation funny.
Tan Mo understood what others were thinking with just a single glance, yet she could never understand what Wei Zhiqian was doing or what his intention was.
Since the students who were heading to different cities departed at the same time, everyone was gathered by the campus gate.
Even though they were heading to different places, and their planes would take off at different times, the difference wasn’t that big.
That was why everyone headed to the airport in three buses.
At the gate, Ming Yeqing led Qin Muye to the team that would be heading to Xiangnan City while Tan Mo dragged her suitcase to Professor Yao’s team.
Lin Fuxi was already there when Tan Mo arrived.
This was Tan Mo’s first time meeting Professor Yao and the students from the Department of Mathematics.
She also wasn’t acquainted with those from the Department of Chinese Literature.
As for the representative from the Department of History, she was someone with whom Tan Mo was familiar with. The student was none other than Song Mingqi.
If one were to exclude Tan Mo, then Song Mingqi would be the one leading the Department of History’s junior students.
“Tan Mo!” Song Mingqi greeted while waving the moment she spotted Tan Mo.
Now, Song Mingqi treated Tan Mo just like the latter was her idol.
That was because Tan Mo was the one who wrote the script for the Legend of Wei and Jin.
Even the fact that Tan Mo was younger than Song Mingqi didn’t stop her from idolizing Tan Mo.
There wasn’t any shame in treating Tan Mo as her idol. Plus, there was never a rule saying that one could not idolize someone younger.
“Mingqi!” Tan Mo greeted and let out a sigh of relief. She was glad to see that there was someone she was acquainted with in the group.
Her reaction showed that Song Mingqi was a decent person in her eyes. As for Lin Fuxi, Tan Mo would rather just pretend that they weren’t even acquainted.
Tan Mo quickly jogged over to Song Mingqi and smiled. “I didn’t expect that you would be in the group heading to Jiaoyuan City as well! What a coincidence!”
As they chatted, Song Mingqi realized something was off. She had learned from Lin Fuxi’s self-introduction that Lin Fuxi and Tan Mo were classmates.
Judging from Tan Mo’s reaction, it was as if their relationship wasn’t close, to the point where it could be bad.
Otherwise, Tan Mo wouldn’t have such a relieved expression to see Song Mingqi in the same group.
“Oh, right!” Song Mingqi turned to the male student standing next to her and introduced him. “He is the representative from the Department of Chinese Literature.”
“Nice to meet you. My name’s Wei Haosong. I’m also a junior.” The male student smiled. “I got to say. It really is a pleasure to finally meet you in person!”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEver since Tan Mo helped the Department of Chinese Literature beat Hua University in the competition to win first place, every student from the department was now very fond of her.
“Tan Mo,” Professor Yao greeted with two of his students behind him.
“Professor Yao,” Tan Mo greeted back.
“President Mu sure helped us a lot this time by putting you in our group! Thank you so much!” Professor Yao smiled.
“Not at all! It’s my job as a student to help recruit future potentials to our university,” Tan Mo replied modestly. “Please let me know if you need me to do anything!”
“Of course. Here, let me introduce my students. They are both from my department.” Professor Yao turned to look at the two students he had brought with him, a male and a female.
Tan Mo couldn’t help but smirk a little.
It was evident that the Department of Mathematics had put a lot of manpower in the group heading to Jiaoyuan City.
Both the Chinese literature and history departments had only sent one of their students over.
As for the Department of Finance, technically, Lin Fuxi was the only representative.
Tan Mo was more of an all-in-one package.
She was representing the history, Chinese literature, history, and aerospace engineering majors.
The biggest reason she was there was to attract more students due to her fame.
Since every department had only sent one of its students, having two students accompanying Professor Yao showed that the Department of Mathematics wanted the top scorer badly.
“It looks like the Department of Mathematics is putting a lot of effort in making sure the top scorer comes to our university,” Tan Mo said with a smile.
“Well, he sure has the potential.” Professor Yao nodded. “If we can get him here, there’s a chance he’ll be able to grow into something else.”
Having a good graduation exam score did not mean that one would do good at Beijing University. One might have done well in exams, but that didn’t mean they had the flexibility to adapt to the university.
However, it was still worth the investment as they might turn out to be something spectacular as well.
That was why Beijing University was still willing to recruit all the top scorers. It could then slowly differentiate the good from the bad after a few years of studying at the university.
