Chapter 296: Clarity.
“Speak with Haley, she will provide you with anything that you would need,” leaving these words, Ozul walked out of the training ground along with Jinx following behind him.
He was now looking for a place to be alone. But instead of just flying over to the middle of the forest, he slowly walked along with Jinx.
Since he had time, he was back to being lazy again. Why bother putting an effort when he would eventually get there anyway?
The duo went back to the tower as instructed while Ozul took a few hours to find a spot where he was finally alone. Jinx’s presence didn’t matter.
Taking another look around him, he only sensed wild animals around. Although not entirely peaceful, this was a lot better than being around humans.
Their emotions along with all the chatter drained him.
Gaining all of his limbs back, he couldn’t control his ability to sense emotions either. Before he could keep a check on it and block them off whenever he wanted, but now bits and parts would reach him whenever he wasn’t concentrating.
.....
Even these bits and pieces were annoying since bearing others emotions wasn’t exactly a comfortable feeling when he was barely able to handle his own thoughts.
He found a small boulder and sat on it cross-legged before closing his eyes. With the absence of humans, he had it easier to handle the outside emotions thrown at him.
Putting aside his confusing thoughts, Ozul began to list out all the changes in his body after reattaching his last limb.
The most obvious improvement was the boost in his senses. Not just sensing the emotions of others but all of his senses. He could see far clearer and hear tens of times better than before. Being able to hear the usual commotion in the tower despite there being multiple formations set up was more than enough to help understand just how much his senses had improved.
‘I will first have to get my senses under control,’ he thought, deciding to prioritize this on his next course of actions.
A moment of distraction at a critical point could be fatal, so he had to get them under control as soon as possible.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt was surely beneficial to him that his senses had improved so much, but it was more of a nuisance than a convenience right now.
The next thing that came to his mind was his stronger-than-ever connection with the black cat lazily stretching itself on his lap.
Jinx had no presence and Ozul only felt comfortable in her company.
Opening his eyes, he eyed the black feline as he wondered whether it was her presence or the absence of her presence that made him feel at peace.
‘You are a mystery on your own... but I feel like I will understand you... once I understand myself,’ Ozul contemplated before closing his eyes again.
At least one thing was confirmed from his growing bond with Jinx; she did indeed have something to do with him and he would only find out more if he got stronger.
‘Stronger huh... that means I will most likely not find my answers here...’ he sighed as he thought about it.
His feelings never lied to him and the urge to get stronger than he already is in this world meant that he would most probably need to travel to the other worlds. After all, he felt there were only a handful of things that could boost his strength in this realm now.
And if the other realms were really involved then there were only slim chances for him to find his answers on this small planet.
As he thought about the other realms, Ozul again lamented the fact that he didn’t receive any fragmented pieces of information on the realms outside.
Was he actually not supposed to receive those fragments of memories when he had gained his leg back?
‘There might have been a problem when that abomination was trying to absorb my leg... and I mistakenly received those memories upon reattaching the limb,’ Ozul concluded.
Although his guess was too far fetched, he couldn’t think of any other reason besides this.
Anyhow, it wasn’t the time to mull over the problems. He took a deep breath and started to feel the power that he now held.
“This strength...” he muttered comparing his strength to Darcia who had ultimately died because of the explosion caused by the cannon.
The explosion had reduced the cannon to dust and Darcia was already considered to have a sturdy body since her corpse was at least left intact.
But comparing his strength to Darcia who was supposed to be one of the strongest four Mages on the continent, he would have believed himself to be the strongest on the planet if he wasn’t aware of Old Gu’s presence.
‘Would I be able to at least sense his strength now?’ he wondered, anticipating the time when he would meet Old Gu again.
If he still wasn’t able to sense Old Gu’s presence, then he would be sure that the old man didn’t originate from this planet.
“That means the tournament...” Ozul mused. He already had a good guess about what the tournament could be for if this was really the case after all.
“Those two aren’t ready for another world right now,” he thought about Raven and Blaze.
Although both were End-Stage Rank-8 Mages right now, he had no idea what they would face in another world or realm. But Old Gu was also aware of the strength level here. If he was going through all of this then there were probably chances for them to survive in other realms.
Then again, that old man was unpredictable in his actions... the kind which he hated the most.
Ozul sighed and stopped thinking about it since it was all but a good guess of his as of now.
Following that, he opened his eyes again and started to concentrate on releasing the Ball of Purity from his body.
The first thing he felt was his control over it. Unlike with his senses on which his control loosened after the improvements, he only felt a firmer grip on the Ball of Purity.
Letting all of it out of his body, he himself was surprised at the amount he could produce right now.
This was approximately more than a whole cubic meter of Ball of Purity.
Before, he only had around half of what he had now and even with that little amount, he was able to divide it into tens of blades.
Now that he had doubled the amount of Ball of Purity than before, he could perform many more actions at the same time. This increase in the quantity was alone enough to boost his strength to new levels.
Not to mention that with a firmer control over this black substance, he was able to exert more strength with little amounts of it.
As he willed it, a small chunk of the Ball of Purity turned into a razor sharp blade. Ozul then swung the blade in the empty air, producing a humming sound.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Not only is it sharper, I can swing it many times faster...” Ozul could particularly make the blade more deadly because of his fine control over it now.
As for testing whether he could create an invisible dome of the Ball of Purity around him, he doubted he was at that level yet. Nevertheless, he would give it a try later.
First he wanted to check the maximum range for his usage of the Ball of Purity.
He separated another chunk from the substance and also created an equally sharp blade before shooting them both in the opposite directions.
Sss!
Both blades pierced the air as they cut through all the trees and whatever came in their way like butter before finally slowing down tens of meters away from Ozul.
‘Around 43 or 45 meters...’ Ozul mentally noted the approximate distance both the blades had covered from him.
Following that, he separated another chunk of the Ball of Purity and created a blade before sending it in a single direction alone.
Swish!
’47- no... 50 meters.’ he was a little surprised himself since the 50 meters radius was admittingly a lot!
Although he was only confident in being able to cover around 45 meters if he were to manage all of the Ball of Purity in different directions, it was still a huge boost from the previous limit.
What mattered was that if he only concentrated in a single direction, reaching 50 meters was not a problem!
Although 50 meters might not sound a lot but for Ozul, it was basically allowing him to do whatever he wanted in that radius around him!
He might not have perfect control over everything, but he could kill anyone in this radius from him with just a single thought. That was enough to satisfy him for now.
And although he wasn’t able to lower the density of the Ball of Purity until it almost became invisible, this recent improvement allowed him to turn the needles even thinner to the point where they would not be noticeable to any common eye at all.
Furthermore, if he tried to avoid any prying eyes while moving the needles, he was confident that even those remaining three Rank-10 Mages wouldn’t be able to find them.
‘With this, at least I have gained clarity on my own strength,’ Ozul thought with a sense of relief. Only when he met Old Gu now would he be able to ascertain how well he would contend against that old man.
‘... Now I need to figure out what this is about...’
