Chapter 160
Davis only knew Brian had flown back from overseas a few hours ago as he'd checked his itinerary. However, the
first thing Brian did upon landing wasn’t to head to the office but to visit
that little vixen.
So, Davis concocted an excuse to summon Brian back posthaste.
Of course, it wasn't just for the diamond. There were other matters at hand. But Davis hadn't expected Brian to
erupt in such fury.
“I'm so sorry, Brian. It’s all my fault. It’s all on me!” Seeing Davis had been shouted into silence, Gracia
cautiously stepped forward to mediate. “I shouldn't have ctoday!”
“If you knew you shouldn’t have come, why did you?” Brian turned to her, and his voice heavy with reproach.
He remembered warning her explicitly that she was not to set foot in the Howard Manor without his permission!

No matter what she said, it would be wrong, and deep down, she knew Brian liked her meek and compliant.
Witnessing Brian's attitude toward Gracia, Davis grew angry and stood up, declaring, “Gracia is a guest and a
benefactor to the Howard family! Is this how you treat her?”
“I'd like to know what exactly Gracia has done wrong! Since the scandal hit the headlines, you've given her the
cold shoulder. Why?”
“Why don’t you ask her and the Wright family what they've done!” Brian scoffed in response.
Davis turned to look at Gracia, who was looking down with tears brimming in her eyes. After a moment of
silence, he said sternly, “All this for sfickle temptress! I've told you before. Nate doesn’t have a mother like
that, and | will never allow them to reunite! Yet, you insist on defying me! In my eyes, Gracia hasn't done
anything wrong! Her fan’s reckless act of hitting Natalie with a car is just a fan’s overzealousness. You can’t
place the blfor a fan’s blind action on Gracia’s shoulders! How is she at fault?
Besides, | didn’t press charges against Natalie for injuring Gracia, which is already the greatest act of mercy
toward Natalie! How much more do you expect Gracia to give? Gracia even pleaded withon Natalie's behalf,
insisting it wasn’t Natalie's fault! Are you willing to have everyone end up like your father just to defend
Natalie?!”
Mentioning Brian's father, Kenneth, plunged the room into a heavy silence.
The butler and the servants stood by, hardly daring to breathe.
After Brian brought Nate back to the Howard family, Davis had only begrudgingly accepted the child, charmed by
his adorable, innocent face. However, the mention of Natalie was still taboo

The tragedy that had struck the Howard family four years ago at the hands of Audrey and Natalie was something
no one could forget.
“It wasn’t just Audrey and Natalie's fault that my dad ended up in the hospital, and you know it better than
anyone!” Brian bit back, his voice strained.
Hearing this, Davis turned even paler, his hand trembling uncontrollably on his cane.
“Davis, please don't be upset...” Seeing Davis gasping for air in anger, Gracia immediately went to his side to
gently pat his back and help him catch his breath.
“Natalie was also hurt, and it’s only human to want to lash out in anger. Let's say that this issue is water under
the bridge. I'm out of the hospital now. Please let it go, will you?”
After speaking, she anxiously looked back at Brian, whispering, “This is all my fault. Just go. The company
matters are more important!”
Brian stared at Davis and Gracia, silent for a long moment, then took a deep breath and strode out of the house.
