Mala knew Tess really well. Once she had set her mind on something, it was difficult to change

on the shoulder.

Tess relented, “I’ll get back to the winery now. I’ll come back to pick you up in the evening and we can

go back to your place to pack!!

“You’d better!” Tess nodded with satisfaction as she walked towards the door. “No need to see me off,

you should get back to your work.”

“Drive safe, Aunt Tess. You’re not as young as you used to be!” Maia teased.

Tess shook her fist at Maia in return. “I’m still young at heart!”

Maia laughed at her response as she waved at Tess. When she got back to her desk, Maia was lost in

her own thoughts again.

Just then, her cell phone vibrated. It was a notification about the news that Cedric was gay. She could

not help but smile, and her mood perked up instantly.

Back at Prismara City’s most iconic twin buildings, the atmosphere was not as cheerful. Cedric broke

his pen in a rage as he watched footage of the news that day.



Baz, who was standing aside, lowered his head in silence. He was trying hard not to laugh at the

comment that ‘Mr. Cedric was not interested in women.”

Just then, an alert came through his phone and Baz’s expression dropped. “Mr. Cedric, I have news

that Theo had managed to get away.”

Cedric’s already furrowed eyebrows deepened as he ordered, “Find him. Even if it means turning the

city upside down!”

The longer that Theo is out free, the more danger Maia would be in. He needed to act quickly as

threats seemed to be increasing around her.

“Got it!” Baz nodded and left to do as his boss asked.

Cedric continued to stare at Maia on the screen as he thought to himself how cool she had looked.

However, when her words came out, he felt somewhat dejected.

There was nothing he could do, he could only sigh in defeat.

That same evening, Cedric had a private interview with a magazine.

Due to his intimidating presence, the interview was an awkward one, as the reporter asked, ” Mr.

Cedric, what do you have to say to the allegations claiming that you are gay?”

“It was a couple’s squabble. She was just throwing a fit.”

“Does this mean that the part that claims Mr. Cedric not being interested in women was just an off–the–

cuff remark and not the truth?‘

“Well, it’s partially true,” Cedric said, to the reporter’s surprise.

Before he could ask further questions, Cedric interjected, “I’m not interested in anyone else but her.”

Cedric smiled dashingly and added, “One more thing. I was never engaged to Zera, if you continue to

spread such baseless rumors, I’ll take the matter to court.”

away! You’re my son! How could you refuse to see me just because of another woman’s whims?”



She paused and looked at Cedric. “I’m so disappointed in you. What did I do to deserve a son like

you?”
