Chapter 878 So, You're the Groom Emelie arrived in Mercianna in the afternoon.
The huge Denning Residence, with its private helipad, allowed her to disembark directly and arrive hwithout needing to travel from the airport.
Yet, this place was strikingly different from how she remembered it a month ago.
The opulent vintage-style architecture, known for its exquisite stained glass windows, was now adorned with bold, traditional Cedonian decorations.
The clash of styles from two cultures wasn't unattractive. Rather, it created a unique festive atmosphere.
The garden, once filled with delicate flowers favored by Wesley and represented Wesley's elegance, had been transformed into a vibrant display of Freud roses. The entire place was bursting with color and energy.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBalloons and streamers decorated every corner, and even the household staff had swapped their black-and- white uniforms for pink-and-white Cedonian-styled dresses.
Emelie surveyed the scene and remarked, "This is probably the most work the household staff has had to do ever since Denning Residence was built." "Tut, tut, tut!" The butler quickly hushed her. "Ma'am, tomorrow is your big day. We must not say such inauspicious things!" Emelie smiled. "Alright, alright. No more inauspicious talk. Let's instead wish for a happy ever after." The butler nodded approvingly. "Indeed, this is the most significant change the Denning Residence has seen in a century. Mrs. Filo's wedding wasn't held here in Mercianna, and Mrs. Denning's wedding took place at the Filo Residence." "It must have been quite an honor," Emelie replied, appearing quite pleased.
The butler, clad in a red Cedonian-style suit, continued with enthusiasm, "It's an honor for the manor to host your wedding. The kitchen has prepared a meal for you. Please enjoy it while I explain the details of tomorrow's ceremony." "Alright." Emelie entered the main house.
The changes inside were even more tic. The house was filled to the brim with festive decorations. Emelie's hand brushed against a porcelain vase with a red edge at the entrance. It was an antique that had a simple yet elegant design, an aesthetic typical of the 1700s. It was adorned with Cedonian-style decorations, and there was a bouquet of Freud roses in it to welcthe guests.
The butler's expression becslightly uneasy. "Mr. Graham said that according to Capebatt City's customs, the bride and groom cannot meet before the wedding. So tonight, he will be at Filo Residence." "Ah, I see." Emelie nodded.
She sat at the dining table, where a meal of three dishes and a soup was neatly arranged. It was just enough for one person.
As she ate, she listened to the butler explain the wedding details.
The butler said, "The wedding will take place at the Denning Residence. Guests will arrive in Mercianna today and stay at the Atlantis Hotel, which has been arranged in advance. Tomorrow, there will be dedicated transportation to take them to the Denning Residence." Atlantis was a familiar name. Her wedding with William had also been held at Atlantis years ago.
Emelie's mind briefly wandered, and her eating movements slowed.
She had heard that the venue would be lavishly decorated with hydrangeas, which she loved, but she hadn't seen it herself. By the tshe saw photos of the venue, it was already in disarray.
The butler continued, "At 9.09AM, the groom will cto the Denning Residence to pick up the bride. A fleet of eighteen Rolls-Royces will circle around Mercianna before returning to the Denning Residence." Emelie suddenly asked, "Isn't the wedding supposed to follow Capebatt City customs? In Capebatt City, the groom doesn't cto pick up the bride." Otherwise, she and Lyle wouldn't have had the chance to tamper with the wedding car back then.
The butler whispered, "Mr. Graham said that the groom's arrival shows how important the ceremony is to him." Emelie smirked. So, William's mistake back then was that he didn't value their wedding ceremony enough. However, even if William had cto pick her up, it likely wouldn't have changed the outcome.
The butler continued, "The main banquet will be held in Building 1 of the manor. Building 1 will have 66 tables, while Building 2 will have 33 tables. The guest list and seating arrangements will be provided for your review later." It was indeed important to review the list. Their list from back then had been revised several times to avoid seating guests with past grievances too close together.
Emelie wondered why she kept thinking about the wedding that ended abruptly three years ago, but she let her thoughts flow freely.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThough she hadn't wanted to attend that wedding three years ago, she had put on a convincing show. She had been involved in almost every detail, more so than this time.
"You will walk onto the stage at 1.14PM. The wedding vows will be provided for your review, and you can make changes if needed.
"The reception will be held at Building 6 of the manor. Mr. Graham arranged it this way so you wouldn't have to move around too much and could have ample tto rest," the butler said. Emelie lowered her gaze. "I got it."
Then, the makeup team arrived, ready to help her try on the wedding dress and makeup so that any adjustments could be made in time. Emelie went along with the plan. The wedding dresses had been chosen by Emelie herself.
One was a traditional Cedonian dress while the other was a Wyvernian-style dress. The drafts had been om transformed by the seamstresses, who had worked day and night to finish them before the wedding, into exquisite dresses. She sat in front of the dressing table, admiring her made-up self. She looked better than three years ago.
"Emelie." A gentle call cfrom behind her.
Emelie turned around and saw Samuel. Her eyes brightened. "Mr. Swanson, are you here to attend my wedding?" However, he was dressed in the corresponding men's outfit for her Cedonian wedding dress.
Her smile remained, though it didn't reach her eyes. "So, you're the groom of my wedding?"
